We finally have a Daiso in the High Desert. Yay! It's located in the Jess Ranch Marketplace in Apple Valley. Very bright and clean store. Organized and well stocked shelves. Aisles could be wider. Variety of merchandises sold here from kitchen products to beauty supplies, essentials, stationery, storage, DIY supplies, snacks, drinks, noodles, miso, sauces, soups, etc. Every time I enter into a Daiso, it brings me joy because I know I'll have a fun shopping experience surrounded by unique and interesting products at an extraordinary value. Thank you Daiso! They do have lots of cute knick knacks. I couldn't help myself... I ended up picking up some goodies to-go. It never fails LOL. Staff was super friendly and helpful. New location!!! I can't believe there's a DAISO in the High Desert! It's located in between Kirkland's Home and Winco storefronts. It's in the same shopping center as PetSmart. Great location, lots of popular and familiar stores nearby. The cashier greeted us upon entry. The store just opened about a month ago. It's still very clean and the employees were working hard to keep the shelves stocked with new inventory. The aisles were overflowing with people as many peered at household items, to snacks. Kids looked at Japanese candy and talked about which one they wanted. It was a nice outing for a Saturday. I'm not sure if everyday is like this or if it was busier than usual because it's the weekend. The value of the products is so good that's definitely a reason for customers like myself to continue visiting. So glad to see lots of snacks, drinks, even udon noodles, miso, sauces, soups and more. Kudos, Daiso, on your grand opening in the high desert. Now, as an avid Daiso shopper, I can say that I was impressed with the location, inventory, and customer service. What I wasn't prepared for was the ignorant comments I would hear as I walked the aisles. This brings me to how I hope Daiso in Apple Valley stays in the desert for those who truly appreciate the prices, conveniences, and the variety of cute products this store can bring to those who are open to a Japanese-based store. Speaking of, YES! Daiso is a popular store based out of Japan and have quite the number of stores in California. Most stores are located within the hustle and bustle of more busier cities in California. Many of its products cater to the living style of Japan, thus the reason why many of the products are simple, accommodates basic kitchen/bath needs, or just something to make a home feel cozy. Nonetheless, these same products bring joy to any household. I heard a customer sarcastically ask why she would need a small cookie cutter? Karen, it's for the vegetables of a bento box! *sigh* I digress... I will say, the retail space is much larger than other Daiso stores located in much larger cities than Apple Valley. The aisles are much wider and the shelves are well stocked. The staff greets you upon arrival and greets you upon exiting. They are constantly on foot walking the aisles to keep the products neatly in place. They were assisting in the front and between the aisles asking the most popular question, "How do I know what the price is?" Just know that most products are under $2 unless marked otherwise. Keep shopping Daiso and you will get the hang of it. Towards the check out line, like any store, all the fun snacks and drinks can be located there. It really is like a convenience store that has a little bit of everything. Be good to this store, high desert! Do Not Go Here! They mark the prices differently than what is scanned by at least a dollar to two and will not honor them. The owner had a clear example in front of him shown, a mochi bag displayed for $5.75, and his self ring up computer as $6.75 claiming corporate won't allow changes. I reminded him it is illegal to not honor the posted signs, and he refused, attempted to tear his own display down and took my item. I rang up four items with different prices then posted. I will not shop at such a shady business. read more
