They even have inflated helium balloons For birthdays! I went to a dollar store about 10 minutes away before I found this one and the balloons were freaking $3.50 like what!? So this place has them for $1.25 and I'm thrilled. Huge selection of stuff here too. Candy to toys - even cool toys! To art and school supplies to kitchenware and more.

"I DON'T NEED YOUR FUCKING ADVICE, NOR DO I NEED TO RESPECT YOU" I then gave him a dollar instead of the dimes and snatched my receipt from him with my change. He was only lucky that I am a very peaceful person and although I have a black belt and could defend myself, that I did not kick his brain to a place where common sense and reason reside. He should definitely not be working there.

I finally found it here for a dollar less. And it wasn't even on sale. That was good enough for me. If anything, This store is classier than a 99 cent store, but cheaper than a Target. And I like the fact that it doesn't have a "99" or "Dollar" in its name.

Stepping into Flushing Discount Store feels like diving headfirst into a kaleidoscope of bargains,…read morewhere you're just as likely to stumble upon a must-have essential as you are to discover something delightfully quirky. This store is your typical discount haven, except, well, it's a bit roomier than others, giving you extra space to navigate and marvel at the eclectic mix of items they offer. The owner is a gem--one of those friendly folks who's not afraid to let you know that he's about to shut down for the night. On one visit, he delivered the closing announcement with the kind of gentle firmness that only a true retail veteran can muster. I appreciated the heads-up; no one likes being caught mid-aisle when the lights go out. They've got all the essentials you need, from household goods to school supplies. Need a mop? Check. Running low on notebooks? They've got you covered. This store is a one-stop shop for pretty much everything you could use in daily life. But the pièce de résistance of Flushing Discount Store has to be their live betta fish section. Yes, you read that right. Nestled among the cleaning supplies and stationery are these vibrant little fish, each priced at a cool $4. You can also grab some fish food for another $4 and a small plastic tank for--you guessed it--$4. It's like a tiny aquatic ecosystem of bargains. I still remember my first encounter with this fishy phenomenon. It was during high school, and my sister, driven by an urge to adopt a betta fish, dragged me to this very store. There we were, standing in the glow of fluorescent lights, contemplating the lives of these $4 fish. I couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for them, swimming in circles in their plastic prisons. All in all, Flushing Discount Store is a quirky, budget-friendly wonderland where practicality meets the bizarre. Whether you're in desperate need of a mop, a math notebook, or a spur-of-the-moment fish adoption, this place has got you covered. Just make sure you don't lose track of time--unless you want to find yourself locked in with the betta fish!
