Super nice coffee spot, coffees were good and the layout inside is awesome. Staff were very friendly and the service was fast. We'll be back for sure, and looking forward to trying breakfast next time. FYI, kitchen is closed Monday

They have an amazing vegetable quiche - seasoned very well, light and delicious. I could've eaten a couple of slices easily in one sitting. The caramel latte tasted great, too. A surprisingly modern coffee spot with some novelty baked goods was a pleasant find in this part of town. Would definitely visit again.

This is my favorite coffee shop in starkville!! Great atmosphere and great tasting coffee! they also have good food and pastries if that's what you're in the mood for.

Overall a great coffee place from their food choices, coffee and environment. My go-to is their vanilla iced coffee, their pastries are always phenomenal and they have a great burger for lunch. Plenty of space to study, chat with friends and hang out. You can sit inside and outside.

I was the first one up on Sunday morning, and I didn't want to wake everyone up, so I came here for coffee. I got there just about 9 o'clock and discovered that's when they opened. I got an Americano, sat at the counter and read. My family decided to join me here for breakfast. There a long line, but it moved pretty swiftly. I got a breakfast burrito, and it was pretty good. It came close to the spiciness line where the food becomes so spicy that I can't taste anything else, but it didn't cross the over spiciness border. My daughter got a burrito bowl, and she liked it. It looked like it had more food than the burrito. My son got the Morning Plate, two eggs, sausage, grits and toast. The grits were undercooked...a little gritty. He also said that he wished they had butter for the toast. The employees were friendly and efficient. I was impressed with how quickly the line moved. It's a typical coffee shop, but a little noisy though. It was bigger than I thought; even though it was busy, there were plenty of seats available. I would come here again.

Why are there SSSOOOO many flies in the basement? Not only annoying, but rather unsanitary. Fly strips would be very helpful!

I reluctantly followed them to another room that was so cold you could hang meat. I declined and walked back to the booth. Shirley was my server. I swear I think she said she's been serving here 26 years! Super friendly and accommodating. I had the 2 eggs plate. 2 fluffy scrambled eggs, creamy grits and 2 hand patted sausage patties with a warm, light biscuit. Not convinced the biscuit is made in house but it's still a good one. The sausage has a little kick and I loved it. Fresh coffee. It's worth navigating the construction for the breakfast. I wish I was staying till lunch just to try their burger. Please note that I had already put my grits on my eggs before I remembered to take a picture

And they…read more are still in the soft opening phase, I expect things will be running more smoothly very soon. The young woman who waited on me has only been here for a day and needed extra assistance, as we all do when we begin a new job, nevertheless she was super pleasant and was happy to find out any information that I asked of her. The ambience is more formal (dark, chic and modern) than the hippie independent coffee shop vibe that existed when the space was 929 coffee. Pricing is on par with Starkville (higher end of average), and there was a selection of baked goods and at least six different kinds of biscuits (classic, sausage/cheese, confetti, lemon-blueberry, peach-brown sugar, and orange-cranberry). YES, they serve lunch after 11AM (sandwiches and salads) , so I'll DEFINITElY be back to try them out and do an updated review. I'm met the owner, Matthew, who was like a hummingbird going to and fro troubleshooting, inquiring about satisfaction, and educating folks about their new coffee from Austin, Texas (Cuvee) which is smooth and delightful. He is super enthusiastic and was fun to chat with. I noted three BIG improvements: 1. the outside tile entry is finally leveled and fixed; 2. the bathroom faucets are upgraded - yay!!; and 3. the menu is now on a large TV screen on the wall and to the left of the register. This can be updated to notate when things are sold out and provide explanations for coffee options. The font size could be larger (maybe bold print?) for easier viewing. As with the former business I look forward to spending many more afternoons on the shaded front porch here people watching and reading . Ideas for improvements/future consideration: 1. mounted fans for warmer months to cool patrons on the porch and keep pesky flies away; and 2. mounted heaters to make outdoor seating more comfortable in much cooler months. I look forward to seeing what else Matthew will come up with (hoping he'll bring more freshly made breakfasts a la 929 style... sure do miss their food...) and wishing High Ground success. ** I didn't venture downstairs so cannot comment on the vibe there.
