Was having continual problems with my old furnace and hired Applause for the job. John assured me…read morethat my system would be fully operational and that he would stand by his work. The system was installed in Nov of 2020 - brand new furnace and piping overhead- new zone valves and bleeders - I reiterated the importance of not having a system that would fail every year since this is what I had been previously experiencing. Again, he convinced me that he had given me thee best option. He took his time with the installation and I finally had heat running. Well it took 1 year and one of the One valves failed. he came expecting payment for switching it out saying that I had to pay for his time. As a result of the zone valve breaking, my pipes froze. there was some water damage and he finally comes after some coercion expecting payment. Telling me that he only warranted his labor for year. Here it was January the following year - 2 mos following. I paid him top dollar and I was expecting top dollar service. Not for him to try and get money from me for broken parts that HE installed. And for a failure, I would expect that he would've been willing to fix. Bottom line is he was only after the quote/money. Once the installation was complete, he could care less about any issues that would surface. I would never use Applause again. I have a system under warranty that's not really under warranty. Had to pay another plumber to address the frozen pipe that the faulty valve created. Left bleeder on during initial installation causing water damage to 2nd floor ceiling. Walked away like it wasn't an issue.

Very happy with Aaron and his work on the central air conditioner. I have an older unit, but Aaron…read morewas able to recharge it and it is so cold in here, and so hot outside! I'm in NJ, but it turns out Aaron was going to be nearby and so he stopped in and quickly evaluated the issue and provided the fix. Also, he took Venmo for payment which was easy.

I hired Aaron, guided by the multiple positive reviews he had -- but sadly, my experience turned…read moreinto a nightmare. I paid $1,950, plus an additional $100 for the initial diagnosis, to have the compressor in my HVAC system replaced. He installed it -- but it failed within just a few days. When I reached out, he told me the compressor was under warranty, but not the labor, meaning I'd have to pay over $1,000 again to fix a problem caused by his own installation. He also said he didn't know what caused the failure and couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again -- which didn't inspire confidence. Out of desperation, and not wanting to be caught in another heatwave, I hired a second technician to inspect the system. That inspection revealed multiple serious issues: The attic unit was never accessed or flushed -- a required step after a burnout The filter-drier was reused and visibly rusted, which is a recipe for failure The capacitor used was one I had installed myself, not a new one The compressor was not properly matched to my 2.0-ton system Worse, the second inspection confirmed that, due to the compressor burning out a second time and the system not being properly flushed the first time, there was now twice the level of acid contamination in the system. At that point, saving the system was no longer an option -- the only solution was a full replacement. Aaron clearly knew this, and that's why he kept saying he couldn't guarantee it would work. Yet instead of taking responsibility, he kept making me lose time and money -- while offering to reinstall the same compressor without fixing the root issue or standing behind the work. After I tried to resolve things respectfully, he refunded me only $650, charging me for a failed installation and a compressor that stopped working due to his own negligence. I asked for a full refund, but he refused -- saying his offer to reinstall the compressor (with no labor warranty) was enough. But I had already lost confidence. I didn't pay for guesses -- I paid for a working AC system. From my personal experience, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and making sure the contractor stands behind both parts and labor. It's not just about being nice -- it's about doing the job right the first time. Your family's comfort, safety, and time matter.
