I was perplexed to hear an ad on the radio for a concert at Chippers Lanes. How was that going to work? Turns out the answer is AWESOMELY. I got tickets for a couple friends and me to see Guggenz two weeks ago. There was an option to get a lane with our tickets, and we felt that would be the best option for maintaining social distance from other concert goers. Turns out it was the best option for a myriad of reasons. Our shoes, food, and drinks were all delivered to us at our lane, and we got to bowl as much as we wanted during the concert. The music was well suited for this venue and added an extra layer of fun to the standard bowling experience. The staff taking care of us was super friendly and attentive. We had such a great time and would love to go back to Chippers for a concert in the future! read more

We've done the Kid's Bowl Free Program for several years & have been to every bowling alley in NoCo. This Chippers at 830 N may not be the fanciest or in the ritzy part of town but they are FANTASTIC! We always have a great time, Cody & the rest of the staff are super helpful & friendly when dealing with the large group we tend travel in. And the food! Let's just say the quality of "bowling alley food" has gone up in the past years. The fries are deliciously addictive & HOLY NACHOS, BATMAN! Cody hooked us up with the full order with all the good stuff last time we were in & now I'm probably going to have to get it every time. Don't sleep on 830 N...it's a good time. read more

Decided to go to this location and see what all of the negative hype was about. We didn't experience any. The staff was friendly, and quick to get out drinks and snacks. I think as long as you don't plan on going with your own bottles/alch you should be fine. Kind of seems strange to want to bring your own alch into an establishment with a bar anyways. Prices were fair as well. 4 people, shoes, a few drinks and food, and a lane for 90 minutes was about 45 dollars. Why not 5 starts? It's just old and not very well up-kept to be honest. There have been three separate occasions where me and my friends went to go bowling, and they have either not been open or have had a concert going on and we weren't able to bowl. if this is the case update on google or your website. this is extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. also when we all go for college night they charge us full price. and it's not even good enough bowling for them to be acting this way. if it says you close at midnight, you should close at midnight. grow up & act like an actual business owner. read more

I had a great time last night at Chipper's for Cosmic Bowling. The total for my husband and I to bowl one game, and rent shoes was $3.98! Not bad for a night out. We also played some video games and won tickets- Chuck E. Cheese style! We turned them in for awesome prizes ;o). My only complaint was the rental shoes are SO OLD. Upon entering, every bottle in your party is confiscated. They do not tell you that you may bring it back out to the car. We were later stopped in the middle of the bowling game that we paid for, the boy disrupting us to say that he "smelled our drinks." Our bottles had secured lids... this complete invasion of privacy is unacceptable and grotesque. The boy also age-discriminated our group, not allowing one member to get bumpers because she was "too old," while allowing another adult in the lane next to us to have bumpers. I Love Chipper's Lanes. They have all kinds of specials all the time and friendly staff. Check out their calendar on the Chippers Lanes website. If you were ever in this location when it was the old Monte Carlo Lanes...it was a dump. Chipper's came in an renovated the whole thing and now it is great inside. They even have bumpers that can be programmed to come up for specific bowlers if your lil' ones need some help. Bowling, pool, full bar, a kitchen (with "Better-than-bar-food") food, air hocker, video games, space for parties. Yay bowling! My only complaint is the lack of bowling balls with larger finger holes...on a busy night it's sometimes tough for me to find a ball to fit my fingers in that doesn't weight 16 pounds. read more

Do not go for Karaoke. Especially if David is the DJ. Bowling is fun and well managed but the way they set up their karaoke on Sunday nights is unprofessional and unfair. David, told my friends to "take a break" in the middle of their performance and encouraged them to leave the stage. I myself was told to "get the fuck off the stage." There is no order to the songs getting picked so for example a song that I put in at 9:45pm didn't get played until 11:30 whereas other people's songs were getting played within fifteen minutes of being submitted. They also have songs listed in the book that they won't let you perform and won't tell you until the evening is over so you spend the night waiting for your song to come on when they have no intention of ever playing it. They recently shifted to pay per hour instead of per game, which caused our second game to be interrupted in the middle. And there is now a ticker on the score screen showing you how much time you have left. It is distracting watching the countdown. Play should be on a per-game basis. It's a game- so we want to complete each one, rather than playing a set time limit. C'mon peeps this is lame. read more

The lane conditions are terrible if you're any kind of legitimate bowler - Expect your ball to come back with more oil than a black-gold-rich mineral deposit each time it rolls down the lane. Exorbitant pricing - I've never seen a bowling alley charge this much. For the premium price, you get neither atmosphere, service, or quality. The specials are sparse and lackluster. Where's the $1 Tuesday special? The only $1 special is on Sunday from 9-12AM (The least desirable time to go bowling), and even then they still charge full price for shoes. Fort Collins is in desperate need of bowling alley competition. It's large enough to sustain a 3rd alley that caters to customers who value their experience. read more

Went to "cosmic" bowling with my wife and kids. Called first to check on particulars and was told $4.25 per person. Every other cosmic bowling program I ve EVER gone to was a flat rate for a given period of time. NOT HERE! $4.25 person PER GAME. Same price as regular bowling, they just turn out the lights and turn up the music. Once you add shoes and three games each ... $64. Add a mediocre pizza, a pitcher of beer (not microbrew) and two fointain drinks ... $100 total for 2 1/2 hours. The sad part is that it took us three visits before we could actually partake in this fiscal abuse. Stopped by two weeks prior to be told that there were no lanes available when there were 8-10 lanes not in use. They were reserved for a party that was over 90 minutes from starting! No common sense available frim the teenagers "running" the operation. Decided to try again today. Arrived promptly at 2 for the beginning of cosmic only to be told that again there were no lanes available. Same as previous trip, 8 lanes unused and 75 minutes from reserved time. PUT US ON A LANE AND MOVE US WHEN ANOTHER OPENS UP. BE CREATIVE NOT A MINDLESS DRONE! We were placed on a waiting list, #4, but opted to come back at 430 when they said it would be over an hour wait. See above for details on final trip. The staff is rude at best and explains nothing even when asked very specific questions. I had a bad feeling after first trip and took a chance today but will not be returning for any reason which is too bad because my 7 and 4 year old sons enjoyed it. It's the manager Joey. He is literally the dictionary definition of "Sir Buzzkillington." He completely ruined the entire experience for all of us, and for that we will not be back. Ever. So if you find yourself here, just be sure to do EVERYTHING by the book if Joey is on the clock. Bowling doesn't get me too excited, but I do enjoy karaoke! Sundays after 9pm they put a karaoke stage out over the middle lanes for everyone's enjoyment. Last time I was there only a handful of people were around, so even my friends with a mild case of stage fright were able to get up and sing a song or two. Plus, they had $2 domestic drafts and $2 bowling, so everyone's wallets were pretty happy. I hope they keep their Sundays the same, my friends and I are seriously considering making this a weekly thing. read more

I am the events coordinator for Gallegos Sanitation (GSI) in Fort Collins. We have used the North Chipper's for our annual company bowling party the last four years where Chippers hosts over 175 GSI employees and their families. The Chipper's staff does a great job keeping our party organized and fun by providing food, drinks, activities and entertainment for all ages! As long as their customer service stays consistent, we will continue to use them for years to come. read more

This place was unbelievable. I walked in, and immediately got a disgusting smell that reminded me of the asbestos filled apartment I once lived in. Than I walked in the bathroom and there was piss everywhere. Not too mention, one of the bartenders was peeking over the stall looking at me pee. I felt so uncomfortable I had no choice to leave. Than I bring myself to get a beer at the bar, to get surprised with a half filled piss warm beer that made me gag the second I took a sip. I than confronted the bartender, and he told me that that's just how the keg fills. Than I finally got to bowling to find out, that I got over charged for the "unlimited bowling" which came to 10 dollars more than the 11 dollar price, even though shoes were only apparently 4.50. Overall bad experience. I recommend spending your night doing something that isn't equivalent to this absolute disaster this business puts forward. Overall, just a terrible time. If u like an establishment that is run like a whore house in Peru, this is your place. read more

This particular bowling alley is, at best, average. The physical alley itself is alright and can be a great space for a fun, casual night. But there are two large issues: 1. Pricing The pay-per-hour pricing is ridiculous and does not allow for the relaxing, fun experience that bowling should be. It makes you feel the need to rush and try and get as much bowling in as possible before time runs out, which is ridiculous and cheapens the experience. I would also venture to say that the prices are too high for what you end up getting. 2. Management I have had three separate experiences with the management at this location within the past few months that have completely turned me off to this alley. I won't go into details, but the basic issue is that some of the managers (one in particular, who is of small stature and has a serious Napoleon complex) do not treat their customers with a decent amount of respect and think themselves well above those they're paid to serve. One example I will share is that they tried (and almost succeeded) to split our somewhat large group up and put us on two separate ends of the bowling space. I would genuinely recommend choosing another alley, even if it's the other Chipper's on Horsetooth. You are much more likely to have a good, fun time. read more

The bowling is great, but the staff need to truly work on their customer service skills. Myself and 7 others went to bowl tonight and we had 2 coupons that were for buy one game get the second free. It was for up to 4 people per a lane. We had 4 on one lane and 4 on the other. When it came time to check out Joey had applied the coupon to 3 bowlers in one lane and 1 to the other lane. He then states that he cannot accept the other coupon b/c it's only up to 4 bowler. I sat and tried to get it through to him that one coupon was for 4 bowlers in one lane and one was for 4 in the other. He did not understand and argued with me, making me the customer who is wrong. Needless to say I feel he was scamming us and was unethical in his actions. This is no way to treat customers who come in on a regular basis. read more

I have been in the service industry for 15+ years. Friendly service, a smile, even pretending that you care about the customer in front of you who gives up their money so you can get a paycheck is almost completely lacking at Chippers. One bartender (older man) was the only person working in this establishment (over multiple visits) who would get 3 stars from me for at least making the minimum attempt at small talk and making me feel welcome in their business. I usually go on Sunday nights for Karaoke because bowling, no matter where you go, is overpriced. Chippers has gone through two karaoke companies in the past year. I've seen three different hosts between those two companies - NOT ONE OF THEM HAD A PLEASANT PERSONALITY. I FELT LIKE I WAS AT THE DMV AND THE RECEPTIONIST WAS TAKING MY NUMBER. MY TURN TO SING WAS SKIPPED EACH AND EVERY NIGHT I CAME OUT TO SING (4 different nights I gave them another chance to get it right and they failed)! Once in a while is human and forgivable. Every time is incompetence. It is not fun waiting 45 minutes for your turn, then another 30-60 minutes wondering if they just got busy or if you've been forgotten yet again. Especially when karaoke at Chippers only runs from about 3 hours ~ the shortest karaoke night I've ever seen. You would think the establishment would consider expanding that if the singing rotation is full every night, but that would require forethought, planning, and caring about the atmosphere of their establishment. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO CHIPPERS FOR KARAOKE until they hire a company who will put a friendly, competent host in charge of night! I really don't care that the young minimum wage employees aren't warm and friendly - they are kids who have to disinfect shoes for a living -- but the bar staff and entertainment hosts need a kick in the behind! read more
