Had brunch with a friend on Sunday morning. The restaurant was just opening so we were the only ones inside. We were greeted as we entered the restaurants by smiling, jolly faces. Once we sat a waiter quickly came over to take our drink orders, then starters! I order the truffle fries for starter.! These were the worst TRUFFLE FRIES I HAVE EVER HAD!!! I was so excited to see them on the menu bc I love them so much but so disappointed!!! For my entree I got the brisket omelet and it was deliciously paired with breakfast potatoes Overall The restaurant was very clean in the dining area. Upon showing up, nobody was there to host us. They weren't busy at all so we sat ourselves. The server was really rude in the beginning but got a bit nicer towards the end. The food was alright, it was decent but we probably won't be coming back. By the end, we were only table in the restaurant and had to track down somebody so we could pay and leave. We stopped in on a Sunday morning and were surprised to see only one other table seated, yet most of the tables were still dirty. We were seated quickly, but our table was sticky and clearly hadn't been wiped down properly. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, it took 45 minutes to get a simple order of bacon and eggs. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best--definitely not worth the price. On the positive side, our waitress was kind and we appreciate that this is one of the few places open in Cleveland, MS on Sundays. Unfortunately, the slow service, lack of cleanliness, and underwhelming food make it unlikely that we'll return. read more

Let me just start by saying, Cleveland y'all are doing the do now!!! I love the new restaurants and hotels! So I'm back in town again for an appreciation service for local Bishop Roderick Mitchell and was pleasantly surprised at our reservations at The Lyric Hotel and the restaurants on the property. We had a group of about 24 and some of us had the same entrées and then some pictures I just didn't get because we were eating, but everything was delicious. The food was well seasoned and will presented. The only complaint I have is that some of the food was lukewarm and I'm guessing it was because we only had one server and she was probably trying to bring everything out around the same time. This never should've happened because we had reservations for the special occasion so I blame this on management. Nice ambience and beautiful clean Restaurant. Once they get the organization part together, they should be good to go. read more

The food was not worth the price. The service was not good. Our server was not very attentive. The place was almost empty. She was too busy socializing with other staff to pay attention to signs that we were ready to check out. Side note - there was a small band there. They were loud and not very good. read more

This place was recommended by the hotel we were staying at. It was a disappointment to say the least . The grits were runny ,the pancakes tasted as if they were cooked in some type of cornmeal which made em stiff ,the sausage wasn't good but the ham was good. First thing first the food was horrible ! We ordered an appetizer and the food was frozen and burnt ! I asked for buffalo wings they brought me bbq wings ! I told her it wasn't what I asked for she took it back and they brought out the same thing just tossed buffalo sauce on the top ! Then on top of that me and my cousin ordered Leno drops and tasted like straight lemon juice ! We also found little nets in our drinks ! After that we ordered the steak and shrimp ! The shrimp was very small for the price we paid and also the steak wasn't cooked to my liking ! Then they also forgot my potatoes and when I asked her and she brought them back out it looked like they had just mix something together and gave to me the potatoes were brown ! overall experience 0/10 read more

Seems most of my concerns have been covered by other reviews and it's sad to see that those reviews are as old as the business and nothing has improved. But before the negative I will say that the positive is that the front of house staff are lovely and in a different restaurant they would flourish. Sadly, this place suffers from something common in a lot of businesses lately and that is a lack of care. You can feel it when you walk in and see it in the management. The place looks good. It's decorated with a good modern style and appeared to be kept clean and maintained well, which makes how it's treated a shame. When I came, the entirety of the restaurant appeared to be overwhelmed. Every customer, which there were quite a few, were left to themselves for far too long with empty glasses and empty tables being a common scene. Twice that night I saw two different sets of people get up and leave because they hadn't even had their drink orders taken. I agree with a lot of the reviews in that it appears to stem from the backend of things. Speaking for myself alone and from experience in kitchens, the cooking was rushed but still unorganized and slow. It took an extraordinary time for the food to come out and for myself the rice in my meal had not been allowed to finish cooking, the same for the catfish placed carelessly on top of it. The choice of spices for the blackened seasoning was as well bland and probably an off the shelf brand and not one they've done in house. When it comes to restaurants, price isn't something I complain about. Because there is an expectancy of quality and care, and while I only spent a little over a hundred while I was here, I enjoyed maybe $20 of that. All of this could very well come from the top. Seems to me that there is very little overwatch on things. Maybe this is their first attempt at a restaurant, or possibly they are stretched thin with other businesses. But you can feel it. Strongly. I will come back at some point to see if maybe they have improved but if the consistency in the reviews is telling, the owners of the place lack the care a good restaurant needs. A good ship needs a good captain. Care above all else makes or breaks a place, and from what I've seen this place is broken. Shame. read more

Mississippi cooks are the best, this was a great experience. Top level dining in deep in the Mississippi Delta. The atmosphere was lovey with a live performance, the food was stupendous , the service was attentive and on point and we had a party of eleven. I can't wait to go back. read more

I've eaten here a half dozen times or more in the last year and have enjoyed each time. I usually get the filet and it has been cooked perfectly each time. I also enjoy the truffle fries for an appetizer. The servers have always been attentive and take care of our needs. Mom and I were there last night and it was as good as ever. This was our third try with this restaurant. Cleveland has a true gem, the food is great and the wait staff is friendly. Unfortunately the problem is in the kitchen. It took an hour to get a salad with chicken added and a salmon salad. It was exactly the same way our visit prior. We drive 40 minutes to get here because there is aren't many fine dining establishments opened in our town on Sundays. It's sad that this will probably be our last try with this restaurant. Just hope they can pull through. read more

My wife and I visited 8 West with four other friends this past Saturday night. We had high hopes but they were quickly dashed. When we were taken into the seating area, they had combined two tables to accommodate our party. The tables were not of matching proportions making for an awkward seating arrangement and, the tables had not been cleaned. The chairs were also dirty. Once we ordered our dinners, the wait time to get our soups/salads was acceptable. However, we had not been given any cutlery. We asked the waitress for cutlery and she said she would get it right to us. However, that was not the case. We sat for close to 20 minutes and then the entrees were served. We still had no cutlery and those who had ordered soup, the soup had gotten cold. After another 15 minutes, we were finally given cutlery but by now, the dinners were cold. The acoustics of the restaurant leave much to be desired. Very very loud, even with just a few other customers in the restaurant. The prices seemed high. My wife ordered two small appetizer plates and I ordered the shrimp fettuccine, each with a glass of wine and our bill was just shy of $100. Overall, a very disappointing experience and we will not be returning next time we visit Cleveland. read more

I was seriously surprised with how good my dinner was! I had the seared salmon with the cucumber and tomato salad with the summer fresh vegetables. The chef nailed it, the salmon was amazing and the tomato and cucumber salad was the perfect side. My only complaint would be the summer vegetables were a bit soggy and tasted as they had been frozen. On a scale of 1 to 5 I would go a solid 4!!! read more

The ambience of this place is the best thing about it. I will say.. at least it is clean. The service is SLOW slow. Food is slightly over priced. If you get drinks.. DONT order them from the blonde manager/bartender with the pale face and no eye makeup. I think her name is Michelle. The Kamikaze we ordered came to us half full and the server even said "I don't know why I brought this to you, this is unacceptable". Our server Sam immediately fixed the issue and told the manager that the drink she made was unacceptable and she fixed it. Michelle was behind the bar complaining and visibly upset because the drink was sent back. Her attitude and body language were very unprofessional. The rest of our visit was good because of Sam. She tried her hardest to make up for the lack of management. She even delivered a complementary appetizer because of the poor experience. She is the only reason I'm not giving a one star review. The worst experience ever! It took more than an hour to receive our food. People who arrived after us received their food before us. When we received the food, the food was lukewarm. A family member and I asked for coffee and we received lukewarm coffee. We asked for fresh coffee and never received it. We had a family member allergic to seafood; she asked for the seafood to be removed from the Cajun pasta. There were remnants left, so she had an allergic reaction. read more

horrible place! i ordered the grilled chicken pesto BLT and it took almost an hour to get my food, and when i went to go to the restroom, i noticed no one was doing anything in the kitchen along with no one was wearing hairnets. the manager there was also very rude and pushy to me, and when I finally got my food, there was hair embedded in my food. horrible experience, horrible staff! read more
