The gym is clean, well-run and has everything you need for a great workout. Owner Ken Preminger is friendly and service-oriented; he matches each client with the right trainer for their style and fitness goals. My trainer Chelsea Fleher is extremely knowledgeable about fitness and exercise, diet and nutrition, and has experience working with clients from all fitness levels. She is very focused and doesn't waste my training time with idle chatter. She also keeps workouts varied and interesting, and is motivating without being patronizing or too soft. I've seen great results thanks to her support. I highly recommend both Chelsea and Fitness Power for anyone looking to get into better shape without having to join a 'mega gym': cfleher@gmail.com and ken@fitnesspower.com

She put together so many good workouts to accomplish the goals I shared with her and keep it interesting and engaging. She is really nice, but never let me get away with slacking. Her awesome workouts definitely helped me get the results I was looking for. The super valuable thing about Chelsea is that she can develop a completely new workout plan for the day on the fly. One day I came in for my workout and my foot was swollen from the heat and from not stretching at all after dancing several times per week. I told her what was going on, and she came up with a whole new routine that kept me off my feet and often kept my feet elevated to help ease the swelling. And it was still a good workout! And she began and ended that session with some killer stretching. She pointed out which muscles I need to be sure to stretch to prevent my foot from swelling going forward. It has made a huge difference! I can't afford to do personal training continuously, but whenever I do have the cash for it, I'll be calling Chelsea.

The trainers genuinely love what they do, and they are so skilled at meeting me at my level and helping me unlock my potential. Mixing personal training with Glenn (who is awesome), with mobility classes with Alvin (also awesome) keeps it interesting. Corey's weekly podcast is an extra-added bonus so I always feel like I get more than I pay for. I cannot recommend this gym more highly.

From day one, I felt at home. Francisco did my assessment and set the tone with a thoughtful, personalized approach. Corey, the owner, is so down-to-earth and even jumps in on classes. I've also trained with Jamie, Billy, and Damian, and every single coach brings both expertise and energy. They actually watch your form, coach you through adjustments, and push you in the right ways. What sets FL apart is their model: semi-private sessions (10 clients, 2 coaches), which means you get personalized attention without losing the motivation of a group atmosphere. The programming is smart--focused on movement quality, strength, and conditioning that translate into real-life performance. As someone training for Hyrox, this has been a game changer. The community here is just as strong as the workouts. People cheer each other on, and it truly feels like a team environment. Palo Alto, you're lucky to have this spot--I can't recommend it enough.

I've made many attempts throughout my life - whether it was going to the gym on my own, signing up for personal training, trying different diets, or even doing trials for different types of workout programs like kickboxing classes. Nothing stuck, or it felt too overwhelming. After managing to make some changes on my own when it came to my diet and shedding a little weight, I'm super happy to have found Team Rahsaan to go a step further. My friend recommended their HIIT classes, and I've been attending now for 5-6 days a week. I was afraid I'd stick out like a sore thumb or that I wouldn't be able to keep up compared to everyone else, but I've never feel like that. None of the trainers make you feel like you don't belong or that you cant achieve something, and they even offer alternative methods for some exercises to ease the difficulty if you're still building up your stamina. For the past year I tried to stick to diet changes only to lose weight because I loathed working out, but now I somehow wake up every day at 5:30 am with a little excitement (no lie) to get to these classes, because I feel so good and accomplished afterwards. I'm excited to see where I can go from here!

We trained together a total of 4 months before my training partner moved back to DC. Here's my report on this adventure. Several things went really well: I started to feel stronger and happier almost immediately. My ass woke up from a long sleep and started looking really fun under my clothes. I looked forward to seeing Patrick even on mornings when I was cranky and tired. (Patrick is really kind, smart, funny and irreverent - all things I like in any human being, but especially one who I'm paying to boss me around.) As our work went on I felt myself have more energy, more confidence and more strength. A LOT more strength. Patrick was also very responsive to my request to find me a training partner, so as to defer the cost of training. He brought me together with this woman B, who is now a really good friend. Hiring a trainer is super pricey, but you get stronger, happier, and fitter very, very quickly. You also get a host of intangibles. I found myself wearing summer clothes confidently and smiling at people more. I met a man walking down the street and now I have a sexy boyfriend. If someone had asked me "How much money would you spend to feel sexy, happy, strong and attract a great man?" I would have thought of a number that was easily 10X more than I paid Patrick. For real. Thank you Patrick!! You are the absolute best. Please find me another awesome training partner!

My left knee had started to give me grief, which isn't good since I lead a rather active lifestyle when it comes to my hobbies. Snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, and jogging are all activities I do regularly - I can't even fathom what it'd be like if I could no longer do the things I love. Rather than just "shrug it off" and assume my leg will fix itself, I talked to Pat about some stretches or things I could do to help ease the discomfort. He recommended I come in for a session and I did. He put me through some alignment tests and introduced me to "rolling" (which is amazing.) Two weeks in (now on my third week) my knee is yet to give me the same grief it was giving me just last month. Overall I feel stronger, more confident, and I've realized the benefit of using my own body weight to develop good technique and balance. Kettlebells were always a strange thing to me, but now I'm starting to get it. They're fun and challenging and definitely different. I've improved my own workouts at my own gym thanks to Pat and am learning all sorts of things about my body. Pat is easy to work with and will cater to your personal needs, and will push you to limits you didn't even know you could reach. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a truly unique and talented personal trainer. I also have to add that Pat likes good music!

The studio is in Town and Country, so depending on the class time you've selected, you may want to get there extra early to find parking. I didn't get a fun/inviting/welcoming vibe during my experience here, but I wouldn't say the instructors are rude. The studio has around a dozen reformers, but unfortunately doesn't have lockers (they have cubbies with doors on them behind a wall, but no locks, so I opted to leave my belongings near my megaformer, which I'd recommend doing for safety). They do have a station to refill your water, towels, beverages and merch available for purchase, a room to change clothes, a restroom, and other items like makeup remover wipes, deodorant, etc. I didn't find the studio to be overwhelmingly clean, which was surprising since the morning class I went to was right when they opened for the day. There was hair on the floor underneath my megaformer, so it didn't seem like they had swept the night before, and I noticed that the basket for used towels was almost full too right before the first class of the day began. The class I went to was a 6:30am class with Jeannette and she gave me the choice between the free black or white socks. Both options were cute and a good way to incentivize people to try the studio! The class about as challenging as other Lagree/megaformer classes are, but much, much lower energy. I believe they use a Mega Pro machine, which felt a little flimsier and less sturdy than a typical megaformer to me. A few other things I think could be improved.: -The music. The class I went to seemed to be playing Boyz II Men's greatest hits, and I think more current music would make the classes more fun and go by faster, especially because the instructor isn't talking for most of the class. Similar studios play a lot of Tate McRae/Taylor Swift/top 40 songs that make the vibe of the class more fun and upbeat. Especially at 6:30am, it would have been great to have some songs that helped us wake up, rather slow/sleepy songs. -There seemed to be a level of slight annoyance from the instructor when people in the class would move through a posture too quickly, although there was no way for us to know how long to hold/move for because she'd count up from one (instead of down from 4 or 8). I've found at other studios instructors will say "and out for four....three... two... one" and everyone in the class is on the same page and knows how to time their movement, rather than an instructor counting up from one and getting annoyed that people are going too quickly because the they never said how many counts the move should be for. I intended to go to the second class from the promotion this morning, but encountered a car parked in front of my driveway and couldn't leave my house. I checked the Yelp page and website for a phone number, but they don't have one listed. I cancelled on Mindbody and you just lose a class credit, but aren't charged extra which is nice. Overall, I wouldn't say the workouts or vibe here as fun as similar workouts like Solidcore, Heartcore, WestCore, or traditional pilates classes like MNT or RockSalt, but it's possible that it's so new that the instructors haven't really hit their groove yet in terms of engaging with their clients and instructor training. I probably won't return until they've had some time to work out the kinks, but hope others give them a try since they're a new business in the area!

The training was unique from the get go. We discussed the usual injuries and limitations, they worked with the equipment I had in my garage gym and augmented it with additional equipment on their end. I loved the convenience. I have to admit I felt impatient with the warm up they made me do before we started and the resting between sets as I was used to the typical HiiT circuit training trainers put you through to make you feel like you got a workout. However, by the end of our session I was feeling the muscle fatigue of a proper workout and its effects on the targeted muscles the workout went after. During rest we chatted about nutrition, the science of what we were doing and stretching exercises to get past some injuries that were holding me back. During the exercises they were hyper focused on my form. I felt I was getting a way better workout with less effort. For once I enjoyed being in a gym vs running on a trail. I first started training with Matt a few weeks ago. I knew that he had a pretty extensive experience as a personal trainer - both personally and professionally - in fitness and wellness. His background runs the gamut, from CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, sports coaching, kick boxing & martial arts, foundational gymnastics, and much more. I knew he was good and had great breadth of experience but I didn't take the plunge until my employer offered a $250 health credit. While it took being reimbursed to motivate me to finally work out with Matt, I'm so glad that I did!! He's a huge benefit to someone like me who is very particular with the way I like to be trained. One thing that really annoys me is when a personal trainer doesn't do a good job in explaining things - Matt explains things in a way that just clicked immediately. He's also great at delivering the right amount of encouragement and pushing you a little further than you think you can do, without being overbearing. Sometimes when a personal trainer is resembling a drill instructor I get annoyed and at times, discouraged. Matt let me ease into the exercises and once we realized I was able to catch on to the movement and rep and/or weight, he'd ease me into doing just 5 more! Or, let's just see how this weight feels. I ended up surprising myself with how much further I could push myself which motivated me to try harder during the work out. Before we got started with our sessions he sat down with me to talk about my motivation behind the sessions, what kind of exercise has resonated with me in the past (or not), and any past or current injuries to be aware of. From there he really will personalize your session based on the above, but what you can always count on is a solid 10 minutes at the beginning focused on warming up the body and getting prepped for the workout itself. Matt is a big believer in ensuring the body and mind are properly warmed up to prevent injury, which I appreciate. You can also expect Matt to take the time to make sure you're holding your body and doing the exercise with the right form - to prevent injury and to maximize the work out. The session always ends with a cool down and stretches. Our sessions are always held outside, utilizing a variety of things like gymnastic rings to kettle bells and dumb bells. But if you're more into working out within a gym setting with weights and machines, he can create a program centered around that, too. If you've been thinking about hiring a personal trainer for yourself or wanting to do a group session with friends, definitely give Matt a call for a trial session. I've never actually liked working out with trainers - they were just a reason to get me to the gym. Suffice to say I like working out with Matt enough that I'm writing this review so you can find him, too!
