I have lived at my condo about a block away and for the last 30 years and for the last 15 years of my mother's life she lived with me as she was handicapped and used a wheelchair. Well, the spot where my friend placed the bench was exactly where I would wheel her out for the fireworks every Wednesday and sometimes on Saturday. Well, because it is a beautiful bench and had a plaque with my Mom's name it is used quite often and sometimes people do not respect the bench and so it was wearing down and I needed to have it sanded and retained.... I talked with friends and searched the internet quite thoroughly and found Chicago Wood Refinishing. I saw the website and the work that they displayed and decided to give them a chance and met with Kevin....actually, Kevin came to me at the site of the bench and surveyed the bench's condition and told me what they would be able to do to restore the bench to its original condition. Kevin came out a second time and removed the bench planks and took them back to their business offices, where he and his father did a phenomenal job in bringing the color and quality of the bench back to its first day it was displayed to me in July 2024. Kevin and his dad are fine craftsmen when it comes to wood....any kind of wood. Now my Mom's bench is back in use for those who want a place to sit and think....or to watch the fireworks on Wednesday and sometimes, Saturday night.
