When we first met with her, we were even more happy as she was able to offer us great suggestions in designing our custom made ketubah. Judith is incredible! She's talented beyond belief, her ketubahs are true works of art as she puts everything into her art work and that feeling is definitely portrayed through the beauty of her pieces. She created such a beautiful masterpiece for us and we now are proud to display it at our home. I cannot even tell you guys how many compliments I have received on our piece. It is absolutely exceptional and the first time I saw it, I couldn't imagine a more perfect piece symoblizing the relationship between my husband and I. If you want a perfect, unique, exceptional and mostly custom made art work done by a special person, choose Judith Joseph. The colors turned out unbelievable as she uses a special kind of paint in her work made out of egg yolk I believe. From all our wedding "vendors" we could not be happier with the work that Judith did for us that we will have as a lasting memory for the rest of our lives. We actually look forward to working with Judith again in the future for a different type of art work.

In the weeks leading up to the event, she was very responsive when it came to letting me know her availability, and on the day of I felt completely stress-free knowing that she'd be an extra-special addition to that evening's festivities. On the night-of, she showed up a few minutes early and set up quickly and easily. She conversed smoothly with everyone who came to sit down and get their portrait drawn by her -- I totally love the way she set up her space! Everyone absolutely loved her and were all very proud of the special keepsakes she drew for each person to commemorate the event. Thank you, Jana, for being a unique and special addition to the evening, you were such a great hit and I certainly am proudly holding my Doodlebooth creation close to my heart forever!

While drawing, Jana actually carried on a conversation with me about my whole Yelp experience, which I'm sure she did the same with the others. After reading some of our post Fatpour Tap Works Yelp reviews, Doodlebooth was one of the highlights to our event. Everyone that was at the table I sat at, or near it stopped at Jana's table to have a hand-drawn portrait done. So I imagine that everyone that showed up to the event saw Jana. A big kudos to our Yelp Community Manager, Anna K, for booking Jana at our Yelp event. I definitely enjoyed. Thomas G

    Hector Duarte Murals

Wow...impressive resume and contributions to Chicago's public art scene…read more I first learned about Muralist Hector Duarte's work on a Chicago Architecture Tour's "Historic Neighborhoods Tour" when our bus tour visited/toured Pilsen. Our guide, Delta pointed out his studio which has a colossal mural of a man of gigantic proportions attempting to break free from being held down by barbed wire. Impressive in design and important in the Barrio Art Movement in the United States. The Mural is titled: "Gulliver in Wonderland." (If you do not take a bus tour to see it-take the Pink Line Train and it is only a few blocks away by foot and not far from The National Museum of Mexican Art). Mr. Duarte was born in Mexico and studied under the tutelage of David Alfaro Siqueiros one of the famous three muralists commissioned by the Mexican Government commencing in the 1920s to paint murals around Mexico in order to address social issues and educate the public about the legacy of the cultures and history of the country. (The other two muralists were Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco). According to his profile under "The Chicago Art Group" Mr. Duarte states: "I tend to use bright colors--I attribute this to my Latin American origins, where the presence of the sun influences our view of color--but have a very broad palette. I use recognizable symbols and images that dramatize life to Latinos here in the U.S. These have included corn, images from the Day of the Dead, and the Loteria game as well as the heart, which has both pre- and post-Colombian religious significance and is something all people can identify with. I usually choose themes that deal with the local community in some way or themes that speak to all of us." He is industrious and innovative...with 45 or more murals exhibited along walls in Chicago. He is also involved in organizing and providing opportunities within Chicago in association with Pilsen Fest 2017. Chicago is truly lucky to have him as part of our community and a true asset to the legacy of public art in Chicago. For more information about Mr. Duarte see: http://www.chicagopublicartgroup.org/hector-duarte/ PS. I wish the Chicago Architecture Foundation would provide a tour to visit/tour all of his murals in Chicago via bus????

We had a Nadeau's elephant ice sculpture for our downtown Chicago wedding and it was such a unique and memorable centerpiece of the entire event! It was beautifully constructed with trunk and foot up, as well as our initials etched in the middle. All of our guests were raving about how amazing it was and taking photos in front of it the whole night! Brenda at Nadeau's was so great to work with, we immediately clicked. She was super responsive and accommodating. Definitely recommend going with Nadeau's and I can't wait for another excuse to order an ice sculpture for a special event!

Jim the owner is so funny and sweet. His great sense of humor and creative skills are at a high. His assistant oops I forgot her name was such the sweetest and very friendly. I'm still in my awe moment at this time. All I can say is go on the website and get a quick glimpse of the ice sculpture. Even better give Jim a call and set up a team building class. If you ever been to Lincoln Park Zoo around Christmas time for the zoo lights. Than you have already witness some of the talent. Very talented and creative. I would write more but I'm still digesting all what I have seen on tonight. We were able to be a live audience to see a block of ice be chipped into a masterpiece. The fun didn't stop there. NOOOOO. We were section off into a group of 5 ppl per table. On the table was a big block of ice and beside us was a box of cut up pieces of ice made into design and a spray bottle. We were giving a certain amount of time to build our own personal ice sculpture. Fun fun fun. Its a must that I come back for more fun. It was just a fun filled night.
