Be cautious if Pro Muffler & Brake asks you to purchase the parts for a repair…read more I paid them to replace a special-order bushing on my 4x4 pickup. They asked me to obtain the parts myself, as they had done during an earlier repair. After the work was completed, the new seal leaked. When I returned, they said they would charge me additional labor to correct the problem because I had supplied the parts. Their signed warranty states, "We will honor work that we have performed, and there are no exceptions." I understand that a shop may not warranty a customer-supplied part, but that limitation should have been clearly explained before the work was authorized--not after a problem appeared. I now have to pay another shop to determine whether the seal was improperly seated, the housing was damaged, the supplied part was defective, or something else caused the leak. My advice: insist that this shop obtain the required parts itself, and get the parts-and-labor warranty terms in writing before approving any repair.

I know because I asked all sorts of people before bringing my Equinox in to be fixed from an accident. Everyone said Kepner's service is great and their work is good. If you really want to know about a company though, see what they do when something goes wrong. This is how you find out about the true integrity of a business. We were one of those problems. Due to the fact that humans are employed- some mistakes were made. We actually had to bring the Equinox back once, and point out another problem via paperwork later on. Jesse- our service contact- was absolutely professional both times. He corrected the problem from the first time and made sure I had no out of pocket expense for the second time. In fact, Jesse gave me a little extra form my time and trouble. In short- Jesse did everything he could to make it right. I'm happy to say he succeeded. We will be bringing all our cars to Kepner's in the future, not only because of their reputation, but also for their outstanding integrity of how you handle problems. Also a big ATTABOY to Jesse for doing the right thing and keeping us as customers. Looking forward to doing business with Kepner's again.

The part I dislike, is that I question the quality of their work at times. They recently replaced the drive shaft on my car, with a used one. However, after driving the car home, something still wasn't right. I took the car back in and they looked at their work and realized that the new drive shaft they installed was very obviously dented. While I am grateful that they worked to find me the best deal on a part (+++), I'm disappointed that they didn't look the part over before hand to make sure it was in good condition (---).

I asked to get the resonator repaired with the muffler, he said it wasn't needed. Several weeks later my resonator was dragging. I was charged an additional price for the resonator when I could have gotten the muffler and resonator replaced with one price. It was noted by another mechanic that the muffler and resonator were installed without ensuring the pipes fitted. It was installed without care. Will not return.
