For the past 3 years I've been wanting an american traditional piece in tribute to my father, a clipper ship to be more exact. My artist Dylan Christensen nailed what I've had in my head for the past three years, and even spiced it up a bit with a thunderbolt which was awesome. He got my details, gave me a quote and my appointment was booked for the next day. When I arrived, he made the experience so easy. He understood my vision and what I wanted and gave me just that. Adi was very professional and calming the entire time in the chair. It was definitely the best experience. I was also very impressed with his workmanship. He changed gloves and equipment a ton of times. The equipment came from sealed containers and the packs looked new. The shop was clean, the staff was respectful. The work came out just as I wanted. He asked how much it would be and the guy said it is free!!! My boyfriend was all in at this point. He had an amazing experience with Claire and left with a bad ass tattoo. Place accepts walk-ins, and I was impressed with their cleanliness as well as their approachability. The artist Heena is quite talented plus her professionalism was amazing. She was also very light with the needle. They were very informative about the healing process (which I appreciated despite having like many tattoos for over the past decade or two) - shows their commitment. Spent about four hours getting a shoulder tattoo done by him, and the entire time was spent with very relaxing casual conversation, joking around, and some pretty awesome stories. I got an estimated quote for the tattoo cost from him before the appointment (like a min-max of the expected cost), and even though it's pay-by-the-hour, AND we went over the expected time by like another hour and a half, he still charged me the minimum for the quote. Needless to say, when the time comes for the next tat, I'm going to see Chris without question. You should too.

In total I have 4 pieces from Jilly Rose dated as such 9/2022, 10/2022, 1/2023, 8/2024. In the photos, you'll see my 8/2024 greenhead fly (fresh), 1/2023 floral knee wrap (healed 1 yr 8 months), and 10/2022 snake armband (healed almost two years). I love the neo traditional look and I get so many compliments on my tattoos - from far away - which is something that's important to me. I want people to know what my tattoos are from across the room. I actually had someone chase me down the boardwalk to ask about my knee. So as far as style and design, she knocked it out of the park! The process of booking with her was also pretty painless. I've never had an issue with her being responsive. She's always gotten back to me in a reasonable time frame - however, I found her shortly after completing her apprenticeship, so as she grows, I'm sure her process will continue to develop. Her demeanor is awesome, so I feel confident speaking to her professionalism through the booking process. She is also really awesome at taking an idea and using her own creative juices to give you something unique. For my knee, I basically said "I want a knee wreath with poisonous plants" and she made all the magic happen. She actually got so excited that when I came in, she had a piece double the size ready and said "I was just really inspired, but I also made this smaller one to fit your time and budget" That was kick ass. To walk in and your artist is that hype about the design really affirms that you're about to get an awesome tattoo. Another thing to note is that she is a very good artist for women especially. I felt so comfortable the whole time. We spoke to each other like old friends ever since my first appointment. I also may be taking a leap here, because we never explicitly talked about it, but she gives off big ally energy ‍ She did the inside of my bicep and my knee lol - so I also feel like I have earned the right to definitively say she has a light touch! I'm actually so sad to see her move to Brooklyn, but I'm also low-key proud to see my artist moving to bigger and better things! I wish her the best of luck.
