I kept giving this place a chance, thinking it was just those one or two employees, but that's not the case. The drink was your typical artificial sweeteners and ice. Nothing like supporting another indigenous culture as I am also part of one, Native Hawaiian. I tried their Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate ground coffees. I mixed it with a regular brew I use, and they both added delish chocolatey notes to my morning iced coffee ritual, the dark one being a tad more intense and my favorite of the two. Meh. Second visit…read morewas just OK. Coffee was fine (Americano with Mocha and a splash of oat milk), but the coffee cake was at least DAY-OLD. Bummer...as there's nothing better than cinnamon coffee cake with a mocha americano...until today. I got through half of it (with the help of a sip of coffee with each bite to soften it up a bit) until I realized I didn't even want it anymore. Again, bummer. The place was FREEZING (admittedly, my visit was during an EXTREME cold spell, but there's GOT to be a heater in here somewhere...this cavernous space was merely a wind-shield rather a cozy space to hunker into for a treat. Shame. I will give points to the friendly burly guy behind the counter who was a great representative and very helpful. The other points are given to the fact that the music was simple background instrumentals, rather than Christian rock...I was able to keep the headphones off while I worked. But just for a bit because now I have to get back in the car to warm up my feet. I still like the space and the coffee, but *bundle up* if you're coming and watch for the day-old treats being sold as fresh.

However, the ambiance was a bit off, as the tables felt crowded and made the atmosphere a tad awkward. The food and coffee are where the stars fell off. I considered giving this a two-star review, but the cinnamon roll saved it. Pictured is the roll ($4-$5), which was large, gooey, and packed with flavor. It is a fantastic pastry, though only available on Fridays and Saturdays. Unfortunately, the latte, cupcake, and avocado toast were major disappointments. The latte was incredibly weak and tasted watered down, lacking any real espresso punch. The funfetti cupcake cost $4.38 with tax and felt like a ripoff; it was small and topped with what tasted like cheap, store-bought icing. Even my child only ate the frosting and refused the cake. The avocado toast ($4, plus $0.25 for feta) was equally underwhelming. It consisted of a single slice of store-bought bread with a paper-thin layer of avocado that was entirely missing in some places. Across the board, the quality simply did not justify the prices.
