First, the positives: the counter service was great. The staff was knowledgeable and happily answered all of my questions. However, the ambiance was a bit off, as the tables felt crowded and made the atmosphere a tad awkward.
The food and coffee are where the stars fell off. I considered giving this a two-star review, but the cinnamon roll saved it. Pictured is the roll ($4-$5), which was large, gooey, and packed with flavor. It is a fantastic pastry, though only available on Fridays and Saturdays.
Unfortunately, the latte, cupcake, and avocado toast were major disappointments. The latte was incredibly weak and tasted watered down, lacking any real espresso punch. The funfetti cupcake cost $4.38 with tax and felt like a ripoff; it was small and topped with what tasted like cheap, store-bought icing. Even my child only ate the frosting and refused the cake.
The avocado toast ($4, plus $0.25 for feta) was equally underwhelming. It consisted of a single slice of store-bought bread with a paper-thin layer of avocado that was entirely missing in some places. Across the board, the quality simply did not justify the prices. read more
