We had takeout from 7 Peppers yesterday for lunch. My hubby picked it up so I didn't get to experience their complimentary squash soup, but he said it was really good. Didn't get much more than that out of him, other than the customer service was "good", haha. We both had a chicken souvlaki "sandwiches" which are actually pita wraps. Biting into the wrap my tongue just about did it's happy dance. The chicken was SO flavourful and moist. It was totally perfect. There were a few too many onions in the wrap for my taste, but my hubby loved them. We're definitely going to have to go back to sit down. I need to try some of their plates. read more

Wow! What a great little restaurant... highly undersold for the amazing quality, service, and value. We arrived and were handed little bowls of lentil soup almost as a greeting. The soup was really delicious. It was the main meal of falafel platter that really sold me on the place though. The photos don't do it justice, as the plates are actually huge! It came with three of the best falafel balls I've ever had; crispy golden fried on the outside and light, fluffy and delectable inside. There was rice with some mysterious spice flavour, a marinated cabbage salad, a healthy serving or marinated chickpeas, and a Syrian style romaine lettuce salad. The side cup of hummus and tzatziki were delish!. A couple of wedges of pita helped scoop up the last morsels. So very delicious and great value at $11. I have been to 7 Peppers Grill twice now and both times my experience was great. The owners are helpful and attentive to customers. As soon as you order, you are offered lentil soup which is tangy and full of flavor and your food arrives promptly. I have tried 7 Peppers lamb shank plate, Mix Shawarma plate, Chicken Biryani and Philly Steak sandwich. My favorite is lamb shank as it was full of flavour and the meat is very tender. The mix shawarma plate was delicious and more flavorful with lighter sauce as compared to other places. The Chicken Biryani is a yummy budget option as it only cost $8 for a large serving size, but not as spicy as I expected. I thought the Philly Steak sandwich was just okay and it is not something I will try again. The atmosphere is casual and lots of seating is available. You can watch the chef prepare your meal with care and attention to detail. I will definitely be visiting again. read more

Came here for hubby's Bday with our toddler... The food was really good.. not a huge fan of the spice they use in the rice but i still ate it... Meat was cooked nicely and not over cooked and the salad was crisp and visibly fresh ingredients... The staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome and accommodated quickly to our "parental" needs without us even asking.. It's definitely a laid back place and i would recommend trying it...good portion sizes and you don't feel weighed down (even when you over ate like me! Lol) Tried the Baklava and it was a nice treat... We had the chicken kabob plate & mixed kabob plate and left with a full takeout tray.... One thing i do recommend is creeping the menu on their website before you go if you're not exactly sure what you're looking for as the menu isnt very helpful... Also...the pic on Google maps isn't this place...or at least they changed their sign ... had me confused as it said it was "Shwarma" but its definitely 7 Peppers... read more

This was delicious. I've been missing the Athens falafel. These are delicious! We did the mixed grill plate and the falafel plate. There's enough left over for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Delicious fatoush salad, amazing hummus, love the chick pea salad too. Will definitely order again! read more

Great experience here tonight - as soon as we walked in to the clean, open, well-lit space, the owner (I think) offered us a sample of the lentil soup he had cooking on the stove. It was fantastic - hearty yet citrusy and really tasty. We split the calamari-shrimp dinner platter, which came with seafood dished up with a tasty tomato and slightly spicy sauce, rice, salad with a mint vinaigrette, hummus and pita on the side. Everything was very fresh, tasty and filling. We also tried the chicken souvlaki pita sandwich, which had no filler - just stuffed full of marinated chicken chunks, and salad with tzatziki sauce, including cucumbers and tomato. The prices were reasonable, not super cheap but the ingredients were all clearly high quality and the selection of options is quite good. Will definitely be back! read more

My first impression was great. Walked into this place and was greeted with very nice hospitality and was given a small bowl of lentil soup as complimentary. The establishment is very clean and they have a nice variety on their menu. I ordered the chicken biryani expecting it to be $8.95, which I saw on the menu. Unfortunately, the biryani was not what I expected. The rice was an orangey colour and I believe it was parboiled rice. I was expecting a biryani basmati flavourful rice. The chicken was a quarter leg rotisserie style. When it was time to pay for the meal, my total was $14! I questioned why the meal as so much and it turned out that I was charged for two pieces of chicken. I guess because when I ordered, I didn't say how many pieces of chicken I wanted, they decided to give and charge me for the most expensive option. That left me with a bad impression. They should have asked me how many pieces I wanted, instead of assuming that I wanted the largest meal at 9pm at night. If you go to this restaurant, just be sure you know exactly what you are ordering and ask for the quantity of what you are expecting. read more

You won't get anything fancy or trendy, just authentic flavors, great customer service, and really good food. This place doesn't need the bells and whistles, the food is enough to keep me coming back. I feel like family when I walk in the restaurant, but the good kind of family...not like my douchebag in-laws. I especially love the veggie sandwiches, which are all pita wraps. The falafel sammy is only $6.50 and so so yummy. My partner really digs their grape leaf sammy, and adores the small bowl of lentil soup they give you while you wait for your noms. The hummus and tabouli sandwich is also delicious, so fresh and enough food to fill you, but not enough to hate yourself. Phenomenal! This opened up recently where "Shawarma Stop" used to be on Quinpool Road. I've eaten here twice and both times found the staff to be super-friendly; the portions are massive and the food is top-notch. You won't find anything too out of the ordinary here; it's your basic shawarma, kebabs and mid-eastern fare, but their falafels are the best I've had in Halifax. Honestly I haven't had falafel this good since Me & Me on Fairfax in Los Angeles closed down years ago. Man, now I just made myself hungry again. When does this place close? A friend had referred this restaurant to me- as soon as you walk in the owner will greet you with a complimentary soup of the day to sample which was lentil soup. The soup was really good!' We both ordered the special of the day which was the roast lamb, salad with a bed of rice. The lamb was slowed cooked infused with a nice tomato sauce - the portions were large. The wife dragged me in here after splitting a crappy cold slice of pizza from Sicilian. I'm glad we came in here. We split a chicken shawarma. It'd been a while since either of us had one. Everything about it was phenomenal. Was my first time having it with fresh pickled turnip as opposed to bottled garbage. It was sooooo good. The food was ok, but I was astounded at the price -- at over 20 dollars for a fast food lunch, this felt very overpriced even by Halifax standards, and if business is suffering (the restauraunt was empty when I was there) I would point to the prices. read more
