The room was in a great location which was quiet and nicely decorated. It was a very modern room with good facilities and a clean bathroom. The only problem I encountered was that the buffet breakfast was supposed to still be available until a specified time. I had gone down to breakfast well before but i must not have been early enough as everything was gone. So I would advise visitors to as early as possible. When I saw "Best Western" on my trip reservation, I immediately frowned and expected the worst. But…read morethe minute I walked into the hotel, I immediately felt relieved. This recently renovated hotel located in the quiet neighborhood of Senvenoaks, just 28 minutes south of London by train, offered a clean, quiet and comfortable facility. The room was modern and the bed heavenly. All in the details: the bathroom had all the toiletries you might need, the rain shower was delightful, the illuminated 3x mirror a treat, and the big highlight was the activity panel (see picture) which gave the hotel staff information about your needs. From the inside of your room, you could electronically instruct the personnel that you were either sleeping, needing room service or attention. The room had 2 free bottles of water, a tea pot with a variety of tea options, and some cookies. All complimentary. Although the room had a safe, it did not have a mini bar. Breakfast was generally good and offered a variety of different things to choose from. Drawbacks: Some of the front desk staff was not very friendly and the wifi did not work well at times, making your work slow and frustrating. Also, the average age of the clientele must have been 80! All that being said, I would definitely choose this hotel if my business journey ever brings me back to this area.

Apparently, according to the receptionist, the hotel has recently both been repossessed and taken…read moreover since. She said things had improved and the place was going through a refurb. The restaurant was newly painted. The menu however, doesn't seem to have been overlooked. It was very VERY basic. Locally sourced ingredients and an interesting menu would make a huge difference. And a dodgy brown edged salad accompanying the cooked from frozen starter just doesn't cut it. The main course was just Penne with tomato sauce, but included broccoli, potato and carrot! Why? My room is cosy with a flat screen telly and a very compact bathroom. The lights take an age to get to full strength do I was in and out of the loo in near darkness. Still, comfy enough and close to local shops etc. This place should improve with a bit of time. It's only been a matter of weeks since the last takeover. Maybe it won't look so empty then.

This hotel is very dated and in dire need of being totally updated. The bathrooms are shocking,…read moremildew and paint in terrible condition. The shower only gives cold water and the bath Luke warm at best. That's providing you can work out how to use it. Then there's the terrible lighting which is a problem to see anything ie reading a book etc. The bed however is very clean and comfortable. The eating area for breakfast is set in a conservatory which is pleasant enough but again in dire need of updating. The breakfast was reasonable apart from the cold beans. The waiters were very nice and helpful. My advice is that only stay for one night if you really have too as you will be displeased with the value for money for what you are receiving. I must now get back to eating my cold toast and finding somewhere else to stay for my second night

In the centre of Westerham, with good carparking facilities, The King's Arms is an…read moreimposing,inviting building - at least from the outside. Inside, it needs re-vitalising in every department. It was slated in a recent review in a national daily, and the owners (a well-known East Anglian brewery - no, not the one beginning with A ) really need to get a grip on this hotel, which potentially without too much money or imagination, could be transformed into a jewel in their crown. As it is, the place can best be described as tired and somewhat down at heel.
