They have all the equipment you could possibly want and a great schedule of classes if that's what you're looking for. Sauna, locker rooms...always clean. If you've had trouble in the past…read morelosing weight, if you've had trouble sticking to a routine, if you want to be challenged, if you want to push your limits, if you're bored with the same old, same old; CrossFit is the answer. You don't just show up & get left on your own. There are sessions available each day (truthfully Monday - Saturday) & you do the Work Out of the Day (WOD) with everyone at the same time. The whole group feeds off each other & only Positive reinforcement is allowed. Each fellow 'Athlete" is honor-bound to help you push to your full potential. I have yet to meet someone that wasn't helping or encouraging another during the times of greatest difficulty during an exercise. The typical session starts with a warm-up, again completed by everyone. Some days there is a training session in between that & the WOD, other days we just get right to it. The trainers Doug & Tara have a lot of experience and will assist you in scaling the exercises to your ability level but they'll also push you when you're not giving it your all. They genuinely seem interested in helping you reach your goals and realizing what you're truly capable of accomplishing. Each has their own area of expertise and they compliment one another. As well, you'll get assistance from those around you that have already been where you are and are willing to help you grow. Wanna see what it's all about, visit & set-up a free session. Wanna know a little more before you head down there, search for CrossFit work outs on You Tube. There are plenty of videos to get you excited about doing your first WOD! So, what are you waiting for? Get off your ass!

I made an appointment for 6:30pm today and was so excited! I received 3 texts confirming and…read morereconfirming my appointment so I decided to get there early to start this journey. I am already a bit intimidated and nervous by the 6 week program I was there to discuss so you can imagine how surprised I was to be completely ignored at the front desk by 3 what I assume are employees because I would hope an owner would never blatantly disrespect potential clients. The oldest of the three was enjoying the sound of his own voice and literally never skipped a beat even when other clients walked in the door and stood at the counter behind me. He never acknowledged our presence at all until a trainer from the back of the room called out to him to which his answer was, "Ok, yeah I got it, I got it!" Only he didn't. He kept on talking to the other two who never seem to notice we were there either. I walked out of there. I'm pretty sure there are tons of other places that would be more than happy to take my money. I guess CrossFit is uninterested in new clients if they leave this bunch out front to represent them. What a joke.

CrossFit Kryptonite has been a big part of my life since my mom opened it in 2010. Back then,…read moreCrossFit was still in its early days and hadn't yet gained the momentum is has now. Since then, however, I've had the pleasure of watching my mom build this gym -- its identity and its community -- into something much larger and more important than just "a building where people do fitness." Today, CrossFit Kryptonite is unlike all the other CrossFit gyms I've visited, dropped in at and even worked at. My mom has built it and turned it into a truly unique, supportive place with many expert coaches on staff who share her passion for changing lives. I've personally witnessed many transformative stories -- people of all ages and from various walks of life who have lost weight, improved their health, gotten stronger, gained self-esteem, and found lasting friendship. As my mom's daughter, I've also been in the unique position to witness all the hard work my mom does behind the scenes. Beyond the day-to-day administrative work, she is always looking for new ways to improve her knowledge as a coach and enhance the membership experience. Examples include: taking additional fitness certifications; planning fun, social events outside the gym; planning events to raise money for local or charitable causes; partnering with other community venues like the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum to participate in annual fitness events; partnering with other local gyms for members to enjoy friendly competition; navigating uncertainties like the COVID-19 pandemic; organizing official CrossFit events like the annual Open. The list goes on. On a more personal note, being part of the CrossFit Kryptonite community since its infancy motivated me to pursue health and fitness more seriously in my own life. I prioritized living more healthily in how I move and in what I eat. I was also inspired to become a coach myself so that I could help others on their own fitness journeys. I received my Level 1, and even after moving outside of Long Island for a few years, the first thing I did (besides finding a place to live) was find a CrossFit gym to train and coach at. To sum it all up, CrossFit Kryptonite is truly a labor of love, and its specialness is incomparable, palpable, and contagious. If you're reading this and are wondering whether "CrossFit" is right for you, I assure you it's so much more than whatever preconceived reputation it has gained in popular culture. Whether you're a teenager or a senior citizen, whether you're a seasoned athlete or have physical limitations, I guarantee there is no better place to get healthy -- and surprise yourself in the process -- than CrossFit Kryptonite.
