However, it does provide great prepared food options for a very underserved farming community. Extra star for taking care of people who would otherwise have to drive to the next town for pizza or subs when they just don't feel like cooking. The staff at this location are always pleasant and helpful and the pizza, while certainly not the best I've had, is fresh, has plentiful toppings and puts most convenience store pizza to shame. If you frequent this area, I would suggest looking up the specials online. While the pizza is better than average, it is a little pricy for a convenience store. Last I looked, there were two large cheese pies for $16.99 on Tuesdays and Thursdays... That equates to buy one, get one for $3. Even worse, she gossips about her own team behind their backs, often with the tone and pettiness of a high school clique leader. There's a glaring lack of compassion, especially toward employees dealing with health issues or personal struggles. Rather than showing basic human decency, she responds with cold disregard. It's alarming that someone so unprofessional and toxic is in a position of authority. This management style doesn't just reflect poorly on her--it reflects poorly on the company for allowing it to continue. It's hard to understand how someone with such unprofessional behavior remains in a leadership role. The company seriously needs to evaluate whether she is a good fit for a position that's supposed to represent guidance, respect, and accountability.

This place has really good window washer fluid by the gas pumps it actually suds up a little bit when washing your window. The squeegees are always brand new looking and have really long handles, and the washer fluid itself is in a big 5 gallon bucket so they typically are never empty. (Unlike Speedway gas stations where they are always empty).. But anyway for the past 2 or 3 weeks, I've noticed that the washer fluid out by the pumps is getting a little slushy. It really shouldn't do this if it's mixed properly and with the amount of grime on the window even being slushy it still worked but I could see the problem developing. Sure enough I go in there this morning and all of them are frozen solid. I did ask a couple times over the past couple weeks to random employees about it and I got a shoulder shrug from one and another one a few days later said that it's awfully cold out. This of course was my point but my interpretation was they didn't feel like going outside to do anything about it because it's awfully cold out. I know a lot of you are probably thinking I'm making a big deal out of this but it's my personal preference. I'll pay an extra $0.20 a gallon for the gas if I can wash my windows.

The 2nd day my 3 girls were taking a bath and overflowed the tub as the pressure of water and the overflow drain are not in line with each other. Btw the hot water was scalding hot and hooked up backwards burning my daughter. When it overflowed I used the 2 towels I was given for 6 people to clean up the water. Maybe 20 min later I got knock on door saying they need to get in here as there's a leak and I explained what happened and the owner comes and tells me I need to watch my kids, I said first off I won't be talked to this way, and she says "you people we always have problems with". I mentioned that nobody should be using that outdated term of bunching anybody into 1 category. On top of this instead of putting tile in bathroom they put laminate and didn't caulk nor put grout where it should be. I offered to fix whatever drywall below was damaged and they said we will chalk this up as a mistake. Then today we end up with the son of the owners entering our room without consent for an inspection, when my son got back from a walk he was confronted about it and was threatened to be kicked out today. I went down and went over the right to privacy and this guy says he's the owner and can do whatever he wants!!! After being called a f in idiot I called the police. While I was on phone with 911 this guy keeps saying stupid crap and said you don't have a house so what rights do you think you have? When they came to do "inspection" my girls were naked as they were taking a bath and they just barge in. I find this behavior unacceptable and this isn't how any business should be ran whether I'm on DSS or not. The police said they have no right to enter without notice unless there's an emergency which there wasn't. I have never met someone that thinks if his parents own something then they own it too. With the dope that I smell in the place this isn't safe for anyone to stay at, even for people who don't have a place to live. The beds are nasty as they just bought pillow tops to go over them, the one bed obviously broke before as they put a 1x4 on mattress trying to hold it up as a support bar, the outlets have broken pieces stuck in them making it impossible to plug things in, the ac/heater shuts off and doesnt come back on for hours, the person working the desk hangs out with clientele and is making this stay even more unbearable. There's no safety for us and we have to stay in our rooms until we can move into our own place this week. If anybody wants to be treated less than human then come stay here and use drugs with owners.

I stopped into this pilot station as I'm getting a little drowsy and I still have about 80 mi left to drive... I'm thinking a cup of caffeine and I'm out of here. The regular coffee is empty. 11:30 in the morning and plenty of employees wandering around, and so rather than wait around for another pot I pulled a lever on the medium roast and I am now sipping on a couple of lukewarm coffee in my car. Basically I think they made coffee fresh this morning which would have been about six or seven hours ago and haven't checked back to the coffee area since then. So now that my grumbling is over, the rest of the store was pretty clean, including the restrooms. The coffee area itself was also clean considering typically a lot of convenience stores by 11:00 a.m. the coffee area is trashed so someone was over there at least a few times to wipe up what random customers spill. I only knocked off one star from this review because the coffee was non-existent and then lukewarm, the other star I'm knocking off because the French vanilla creamer dispenser was also empty. Basically when I'm tired and grumpy, don't mess with my coffee . I was however pleasantly surprised to see that they have a cinnabon location inside of this store, so I was able to grab a couple of those. Basically the place look pretty good except for the coffee. I'm not sure how many people consistently read my reviews however if you are one of them you know me by now, if you have a convenience store, and you want five stars out of me, you need to have hot coffee and the windshield washer fluid out by the gas pumps. I didn't get gas this time so I didn't check, but we're going to go on the assumption that they do.

I assumed this was because it was late and the place was closed. I went 6 miles down the road to a 7-11 in Wayland and got a notice that there were insufficient funds in my account to purchase gas. After calling my bank and checking my statement online this afternoon, it was revealed that two unauthorized charges credited to Van Wormer's were processed. It is clear to me that someone installed a card reader on one of Van Wormer's pumps and is stealing debit card numbers. Avoid purchasing gas there.
