Occasionally, they have demonstrations of how they cut up fish. I happened onto one where they were cutting up a humungous tuna fish into manageable pieces, while explaining what's going on. Cool. The aisles here are wide as Texas! No finagling around other shoppers, you can send your cart sideways down these aisles! Check out the special aisle- South Asian! They even have a South Asian dairy section with specialty cheeses and yogurts. Cool. There's TWO clearance sections here. I'm not telling you where they are. Check out the outdoor section with plants and stuff. The staff is always nice. They have a full butcher, bakery, cheese monger, fish monger- this store has it all. Parking is a bit awkward, but soon it'll be all okay once the other shops are open and the construction is over.

I have not had issues with their inventory. As always, they have great plants outside as well. Great place to buy little plants as gifts, since the pots are nice and not expensive. Many mini succulent garden plants, and potted plants to choose from! Don't miss their cards, they are so cute! Parking is in the lot outside and since this is Huebner Oaks, the parking spots are a normal size so that's nice!

Nothing ever goes on sale here. Ever. Never ever. I've never seen a coupon, a "SALE" or anything like that. I wonder what happens to the stuff that doesn't sell? It's a badly kept secret that many of the Trader Joe's things are really big brand manufacturer items, but under a "Trader Joe's" label instead. My favorite thing about Trader Joe's is the wine. They sell a lot of their own stuff- Two Buck Chuck (Really four buck, now) is a pretty good wine, especially for the low, low price! Many of their wines are "great-adjacent." Like white bubble wine, from the next region over from Champagne. Or Pinot Grigio wines from lesser known parts of Italy. The staff is always friendly. They have free lollypops at the register! Frankly, I really only come in for the cheapo wine, and leave with an extra piece of candy and a lolly each time. Unfortunately, this has become part of the regular shopping trip.

They are not boiled before frying or seasoned and fried and they were terribly dry and crumbled when bitten. Chicharrones con carne are very popular and you should learn to make them like the Lubbock store. I wasted $17.00 at each store with no manager on site to refund my money based on the store lack of cooking or cleanliness. I expected so much more and was a terrible experience. Both stores could also use a good cleaning as well.

I ran out of floss during my trip to San Antonio, and I needed to buy some. I was planning to go to…read moreNorthwoods Shopping Center to eat a meal at Fish City Grill. After said meal, I walked the length of the shopping center to see what other stores there were. I was originally planning on stopping by nearby Walmart, but lo and behold, there happened to be an H-E-B here! It was pretty spacious, at least compared to the one at Lincoln Heights, and I figured I could save myself the trouble of navigating to the Walmart if I could find some floss here. There is a pharmacy on the far left side of the store, and even at the front, they provide various services, including vehicle registration?! Kind of cool a grocery store like H-E-B could do this. Anyways, digressing aside, it seemed this store had a bit of everything, like it could be your one-stop shop for everything. It saved me a trip to Walmart, even if it was just for one item lol, and it could very well save you a trip there too! After all, H-E-B does claim they have the lowest prices in all of Texas. Look out Walmart! You've got competition! lol The self-checkout stands come in really handy, especially for a store of this size. If not for the self-checkout stands, the regular checkout lanes could be pretty long. As at any H-E-B, watch for paper coupons on the shelves! Unfortunately, there was no paper coupon for the floss that I purchased, but considering it was only a dollar, I doubt there'd be one haha. Shelves looked well-stocked and organized. There isn't really anything extraordinary about this store that stands out above the rest, but if I lived in the area, I'd probably make this my usual store. Hopefully, readers living close by will make it a point to stop by here for their grocery needs!
