Anyone staying at the hotels across the street has immediate access to all of the snacks, treats and drinks 7 Eleven offers. That's huge because there isn't a whole hell of alot near the hotels. Food options in particular are very limited. Oh yeah, I also loved the fact that they offered gas at a reasonable price. I'm definitely a fan of this place. It is however, the place to go to get any gourmet food or snack you could think of: Cheese, salmon, dips, spreads, crackers, etc. At first glance, the store looks a bit small. There is also a large back room with clothing, knick knacks, souvenirs, and even more food. The owners were lovely. They helped my son who ran back and forth several tunes for snacks. Most of all we will be indebted to the owner for recommending what has become our favorite brand of pretzels, Dots. Now we buy Dots Pretzels by the pound online. So if you are looking for a little treat or souvenir when staying in Matlacha, make sure to stop at the Specialty Market.

If you are unfamiliar with the island, there are very few grocery stores you can shop at, so if you are actually on Captiva, this is your spot. There are more on Sanibel but that is a further drive. They also sell some merchandise, body items such as sunscreen and hats and then beer, wine, and liquor. We always stop here a few times while staying on the island. There are also fruits and vegetables as well as other cold items, pre made salads, dry stock items, such as breads, sauces, chips, etc. Something we always get is one of their sandwiches. They do make sandwiches to order as well using Boar Head items. For a small store, their wine and beer sections are very large. They even have a walk-in cooler so you can grab drinks cold already. We were able to find almost everything we were looking for or missed bringing with us. They welcomed us and said hello. The two guys we encountered were both very friendly and nice. We will continue to come here. It is convenient for where my family stays and we always run out of something such as bread or forget something. It is a perfect place to grab those last-minute items. I have even purchased some items here for gifts. If you are in the area I would definitely stop here for any last-minute items, you need.

Happy to see there is a parking lot across the street bc parking in Captiva Island is very limited. They have seating inside and outside. We sat inside with our small dog and they were very welcoming to all of us. They even brought our pup some water and a pup cup. Enjoyed the orange crunch cake. Definitely unique. They said that is their specialty so I had to try it. My husband enjoyed his strawberry milkshake and I agree it was quite tasty. Very happy for this stop which is fun since the Bubble Room and Bubble Room Emporium are also in this area to visit. Definitely a must stop Captiva Island Spot!!!
