Met up with a friend on a weekday morning. It wasn't packed but had enough traffic to generate a positive energy. There were a few people just sitting by themselves doing some readings, a group of ladies gathering at the bit long table, and a few groups of people hanging what looked like business meetings. There was just enough noise to make it comfortable to chat without worrying if we were disturbing others! The space is bright and has ample seatings. Easy parking and friendly staff are always a plus. I ordered a large latte, which was much bigger than what you would get at most other places. The coffee was good and they had a good selection of baked goods. I got a Danish but was too busy talking that by the time I took my first bite, it was a bit cold so it wouldn't be fair for me to comment on the pastry other than it was crispy! I don't believe the pastries are made in house but it's always nice to have some food options with your coffee! They also serve flatbreads, which I'm interested in trying next time. My friend ordered the lavender and honey latte, which sounded really good except she said it was too sweet for her. But for those that prefer a sweeter beverage, it sounds like a tasty choice!

However, every now and then we have a craving for the best breakfast bun in Edmonton and we come back. All of the food here is delicious and somewhat unique. We tend to favour the bunwich (their unique breakfast sandwich) but other sandwiches and bowls are quite fine too. Recently I ordered the BLT and it was packed full of well fried bacon. My wife prefers the bowls as Brown Butter will make any sandwich into a bowl. Service is quick and friendly. They could use more tables though as we have come and been unable to find a table. At least there's normally a couple of spots at the window so we can find a place to sit. The prices are average and reasonable so I can still highly recommend this unassuming cafe to anyone (unless you are looking for fries and a burger).

One of the staff members came across as demanding and constantly pressured people to buy something. My friend and I had already purchased food and wanted to share because everything was expensive, but we were basically forced to buy more. It felt less like customer service and more like being pushed into spending money. The favoritism was also impossible to ignore. I ordered a croissant and didn't receive any chips. When we asked if chips came with the order, we were told no. But the customer sitting right next to us had chips anyway. When we asked why, the only explanation we got was that they were "special." It made absolutely no sense and left us feeling singled out. A nice interior doesn't make up for rude service. The atmosphere might look welcoming, but the way customers are treated tells a completely different story. I won't be coming back, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place unless they seriously improve how they treat people.
