I'm a big fan on Zeke's. I get pretty much the same thing every time. This location was busy, packed with teenagers having a hangout sesh which I thought was cute. There were also people coming in and out grabbing orders for take out. I ordered the Fajita Pita as a rice bowl as always at the other location and I also got a Strawberry Watermelon Pineapple Juice. It took a little minute to get my food just because it was busy which I didn't mind. My rice bowl tasted the same as the other location which gave me much satisfaction and is a testament of the consistency across locations. The juice was refreshing and well balanced. Overall I enjoyed my pickup and I am happy to know there's another location I can go to if I need and want to. I am craving it as I write this review!!!

The person behind the counter was nice, though it kinda felt like they were trying to be nice if that makes sense. Whatever, I've read about this place before so I knew what to expect. Honestly, I didn't think this spot would work considering where it's located, but it does. The food was fresh, solid portions, and I'd definitely go back.

Anxious to try out RoJo Coffee for breakfast and I'm so glad we stopped in this morning. This cozy…read morebreakfast and lunch spot is clean and quaint. There's barstool seating at the countertop facing the grill and a few chairs at a carved wooden tabletop facing the large window. RoJo Coffee also has some outdoor seating options under a large tree. The menu is very impressive with specialty lattes and teas, and energy drinks, too. The breakfast and lunch menu offers a variety that's sure to please everyone's taste buds. I truly enjoyed the Belgian Waffle that comes with their house made mixed berry compote and powdered sugar, along with pure maple syrup, and house whipped cream. I liked how the chilled compote, syrup, and whipped cream were served in separate containers so that I could dip! Nice touch! The Belgian Waffle was fluffy and tasty! I also enjoyed my choice of The Lola (White Snickerdoodle Latte) specialty latte with oak milk (extra charge) that features white mocha, cinnamon & vanilla. My husband really liked his order of the Breakfast Burrito with bacon, noting how tasty their house salsa was. His specialty latte was The Moose which is their honey roasted peanut latte (toasted marshmallow, peanut butter & honey). Our orders were taken by the mother of one of the owners. She was very friendly and pleasant, telling us to take our time looking over the menu. She pointed out the month of May specials, and you could tell how happy she was to support this small business. We're thankful to have such a wonderful breakfast and lunch option with specialty beverages on the south side of the Great Bridge Locks. IYKYK

The coffee was good, which makes this even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of…read morethe shop was a major issue. The environment didn't appear to be well maintained, and it made the experience feel unsanitary. What concerned me the most was watching an employee fill my boyfriend's iced coffee with tap water directly from the sink. That completely changed my confidence in how drinks are prepared. Good coffee is important, but cleanliness and proper food handling are just as important. I hope they address these issues because the coffee itself has a lot of potential.

My husband and I are regulars at Big Ugly but I've never taken the opportunity to try Taxus Street until this week. I tried to come on Monday and quickly learned they were closed, so returned the following day. They operate inside the brewery and have a nice setup in the corner. There is lots of seating - bars and high tops - and it's a great spot for a morning gathering. There was a meeting in the upstairs loft happening during my visit. The barista who assisted me was working solo. She was super friendly and happy to answer my questions. I was glad to hear they offer decaf espresso. I opted to try one of their seasonal lattes - the Mounds Bar latte with almond milk, mocha and coconut cold foam. It took only a few minutes for my order to be prepared. I did find the drink to be slightly sweet for my taste and would ask for half sweet on my next visit. For the lactose intolerant, they have almond and oat milk options. They also have several pastries and some hot food options to choose from like overnight oats and breakfast burritos from Burrito Perdido. I was really pleased with my recent visit and I'll be happy to come back soon!

So it took a few minutes before they greeted me. But they did eventually, and they were friendly. I looked around to see what they had. It was different whole cakes, cake slices, cookies, breads, coffee, cinnamon rolls, quiches, and etc. They are affiliated with the 17 hands coffee shop next door. They make the quiches and baked goods for them. The whole cakes looked pretty. They also had some fall flavors in desserts and coffee!! I did find it confusing that nothing had prices. I had to keep asking how much everything I was interested in was. The cake slices are about $7-8 per slice and the cookies were $3-4 depending on the flavor. I got a red velvet and a double chocolate cookie. They were both a good size and thick. They were ok. But nothing buttery or special stood out. The double chocolate was the better cookie out of the 2. The red velvet was a little bland. But looked appealing. I'd like to try their cakes in the future. I will say there were a few fruit flies lingering in the showcase which is why I chose the cookies. There's some outdoor seating. They only sell whole quiches here, but you can purchase individual slices next door, because they don't have the capability to heat them up there. I'd come back to try other things. Check them out!!
