First thing to know, Downtown Omaha is kind of a grocery store desert - or at least that was the impression I got from my visit. We were travelling with our toddler and while I KNOW she should be 100% off bottles, we are picking our fights and she still enjoys one with her milk in the morning and in the evening. That being said, we only brought two bottles and planned on cleaning them as we went. Our only problem was we forgot dish soap. After asking the front desk where would be the easiest place to find some they recommended Cubby's and they were right! While you pay convenience store prices, it was easy to pick up what we needed and they had a few options which was nice. The store itself has a good variety of food, snacks, odds and ends, and likely serves as a little grocer for anyone who lives nearby. I wouldn't say I loved this place so much I would definitely return, but I will say it was clean, had what we needed, and was conveneint, which really was about all I could ask for in a nearby convenience store.

I usually find them well stocked, moderately clean and with boxes of of merch waiting to be stocked. The staff feels hurried and disinterested. This store is a refreshing upgrade. Both were heated at the perfect temperature and tasted sweet. The spiked hot chocolate was a bit on the cooler side and not great at first taste, but once we warmed it up it really few on us! The service was quick and friendly, and the store is conveniently located in the heart of old market. I wish they had the Ethanol stickers on the pumps because for the longest time, I didn't think their gas had Ethanol in it, which was great; until I looked three inches to the left of the pumps and saw the sticker 'All gas grades have Ethanol'. I have no idea why I didn't see that for the longest time. I rarely go inside, but when I do it kind of smells and is a tad unclean. I will continue to grab gas from this gas station, but may be more hesitant to go inside if needed.

But if you're in the neighborhood, stop in. Save some cash so you can use it across the street at Hardee's or pop into the gas station and get yourself a little sumpin-sumpin. Maybe a teriyaki beef stick and an Iowa post card with an ear of corn wearing sunglasses. See? The savings are changing your life already.
