Osage Casino Hotel - Ponca City

I am rating this based on the hotel room, not the actual casino (which was clean but I don't…read moregamble). While on a road trip visiting several tornado alley states, I chose Osage Casino Hotel as my stop in Oklahoma being that I wanted to visit the Twister Museum in Wakita the next day. Not too many hotels out that way so Ponca City seemed like a good choice. This was literally the nicest hotel I have stayed in outside of Vegas! The rooms are BEAUTIFUL and spacious. There's a living room area up front with a TV and the bedroom has an additional TV as well. Really nice and clean bathroom with a very modern shower. Vanity mirror to do your makeup, kitchen sink area above the refrigerator. I actually wish I could have taken this hotel room with me on the rest of my trip. Great view of the pool and it was wonderfully quiet in the room for sleeping. There's no smoking on the hotel room floors and you couldn't smell anything despite smoking being allowed in the casino. They had a really nice free breakfast as well and the front desk personnel were so friendly and accommodating. I'd go back to Ponca City just to stay in this hotel again. Deserves more than 5 stars for the amazingly low price you pay.

The hotel staff are quite lovely and extremely friendly. I can honestly say I dont know I have ever experienced staff as nice as the ones here. The room is spacious. The bed was comfortable and overall it was quite nice. Mynissues; I wasn't quite happy with the bathroom door which is a slat door with see through slats. Doesn't really give much privacy. My other issue was the smell. I dont smoke. I expected the casino to be smokey. But my room smelled like a lit cigarette. The smell permeates everything. If it didn't smell of cigarettes, i would have given a 4nor 5 star. Needs air purification badly.

There are moments in life when a man confronts something so fundamentally absurd that it forces him…read moreto reconsider the entire structure of reality. For me, that moment occurred at the blackjack table inside Cimarron Casino. I walked in expecting a game. Blackjack, after all, is supposed to be a rational system -- numbers, probabilities, risk, discipline. A contest between the player and the dealer mediated by the impartial mathematics of the deck. What unfolded instead felt like a philosophical demonstration that the universe is not governed by fairness, probability, or even basic statistical decency. For hours I watched the dealer operate in what can only be described as a higher dimension of blackjack existence. Bust cards simply did not apply. Hands that should collapse into ruin instead gracefully floated to twenty. The dealer would pull a five when a five was needed, a six when a six was required, a miraculous sequence of salvation that repeated itself so often it stopped feeling like luck and started feeling like cosmic mockery. Meanwhile, the players sat there experiencing the opposite law of nature -- a gravitational pull toward sixteen against a dealer ten, followed by the inevitable, soul-crushing decision: hit and perish, or stand and watch the dealer ascend to twenty with serene inevitability. At some point during the evening I stopped thinking about money altogether. The chips in front of me became symbolic rather than financial. I realized I was no longer gambling -- I was witnessing a philosophical parable about inevitability, futility, and the quiet cruelty of systems that appear fair while producing the same outcome over and over again. The dealers were calm, almost priest-like in their composure, dutifully turning over cards as if participating in a ritual that has been performed for centuries: the ritual of the player slowly realizing he was never meant to win. By the time I left, my bankroll had been completely annihilated, but more importantly my faith in blackjack as a game governed by chance had been thoroughly dismantled. If you wish to experience a place where probability appears to have filed for resignation and the dealer operates with the serene certainty of fate itself, Cimarron Casino will gladly provide that experience. I came to play blackjack. Instead, I received an existential lecture on the illusion of control.
