Sunday, was my first time and I was pretty impressed with the shop, given the fact that it was in a small town and it didn't have many reviews at all. I ordered a Cortado and was really surprised by how well done it was made. It had the perfect consistency, texture, and flavor, with the perfect ratio of a well pulled shot of espresso and properly steamed milk. Whoever made that drink needs to train the whole staff, because based on my second visit, it is very clear to me that the owner is not doing their job properly in hiring/training baristas. The very next day I walked in very exited for my Cortado again! Being from Seattle, I find it very hard to find a properly made Cortado, and so I was excited for another good one here! But to my disappointment, this time, it was just beyond a let down. It was borderline disrespectful and just absurd. I walked the coffee back up and explained to the barista, this was 100% not a Cortado. It was more of a latte because it had lots of milk. It looked really bad. So then she nicely took it back and said she will remake it. Surely enough, it was very clear these workers had no idea how to make coffee. The lack of training and knowledge of coffee became very clear. I got my new "Cortado" and this time it looked more of an espresso shot with no milk. Unbelievable. I hope the owner reads this and does a better job of training its workers to understand their jobs. Just because 99% of the customers here probably order vanilla iced lattes, or other sweet drinks does not mean every worker should not know how to make EVERY coffee drink the proper way. It wasn't even close. Seems like by the merchandise, they care to take their coffee serious but the "baristas" don't know how to make drinks... Disappointing. You are a "specialty" coffee shop, not a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks.

As I was standing near the counter another lady came out, and said to the worker "why didn't you tell me we were busy?" I said to her I had been waiting thirty minutes, and she stated making my drinks. She finished one and I said I have another, and she replied "I don't know what you ordered!" I told her it should have been near the other cup. She did give me a coupon for a free drink, and apologized, but that's not the only complaint. They charge extra for boba pearls!!! Like none of their "boba" comes with "boba?" You can either add half a scoop for 65c or a full one for over a dollar. That's kinda lame if you ask me. So in closing; train your workers to be more efficient, and stop charging extra for boba pearls that go in boba!

The title is essentially my review…read more Was in Russellville visiting. The first morning I was planning a day out with just my grandson. He knows 'grandpa' likes his donuts. He pointed me towards this place.... We each bought a roll and then got in the car and headed out. I used the title because it has become much harder to find and enjoy an honest donut that isn't pre-made by machine and then just cooked. Most grocery stores, well let's be honest ALL of them where I live have basically put the small actual bakeries out of business and traditional places like Crispy Cream and Duncan are not even shells of themselves. Shipley surprised me and I was glad for it. On my way home, a couple of days later, I once again stopped for 2 this time. I had a white cream-filled one and also an apple fritter. ONE thing to be aware of, is they charge extra if you use a card rather than cash. I had a debit card which does not have a surcharge but they added the credit card charge regardless......I felt this was a irritation about the debit card.
