On my way home from a road trip we purposely came back to Athens because of fond memories of the…read morelast time we passed through. We specifically enjoyed the coffee shop which apparently has moved and anyway is not open on Sundays. To be honest we would have, with the coffee shop being closed, moved along... except that my husband needed a bathroom so we ordered a drink at Nutrition on the Square. The two things (2 stars) it has going for it are that it is clean and the juice was tasty. That being said, I have serious doubts that the owners or employees know the first thing about nutrition. I didn't notice anything that indicated any real scientific knowledge about nutrition. The young girl employed was, well, so young and so lacking in any ability to inspire confidence. Furthermore, it is kind of unclear what actually is being offered here. I think I landed on these "juices/teas" (?) of which there were 69 varieties (combos of flavors)! I think that is extremely excessive. I mean how different can they be? It seems like maybe a dozen or so combinations might be enough to please everyone's palates. I hope that in they will consider providing some written literature as to the benefits of the ingredients used. Also, with all that space maybe they can provide classes. Wishing them luck in the future.

Another acai place! I love what I've come to call "fruit bowls" and am not mad about another one…read more Grain and Berry differentiates itself by having a fairly large number of other options, such as toasts, smoothies, flatbreads, and so on. There's ample parking since it's in a very large shopping center. The inside is larger than expected with plenty of spots to sit. I could see working on a laptop in here; it's well air conditioned and has a nice vibe. Several staff members were behind the counter and they were quick to greet me and begin work on my order. I got the grain and berry, which had bananas, blueberries, and strawberries on a bed of granola and acai, with peanut butter, Nutella, and coconut flakes. It was packaged and ready to go in a reasonable amount of time. Compared to other places, I did think the price was a bit high. I enjoyed my fruit bowl when I ate it for dinner a little bit later. The acai wasn't overly sweet and the ratio of granola to fruit was pretty perfect. I was missing the coconut flakes - idk if they didn't put them on or if I just never detected them. The fruit ratio was also a little off in my opinion -- only a few diced up pieces of strawberries, a handful of blueberries, and then a LOT of sliced bananas. Lastly, I really wish the peanut butter and Nutella had been drizzled on top. At first I thought I didn't get any at all, but I eventually realized it was in a layer below the fruit and above the granola. This might've been done to preserve the appearance of the bowl/lid since I got it to go, but I feel the flavors got a little lost when I ate it. Overall, these are minor nitpicks/personal preference so not a huge deal. I could easily see myself returning for another bowl in the future. Thanks, Grain and Berry!

I've tried G&B several times via delivery and visited in-person recently. My only gripe thus far…read morewas the service during my first visit. It took several minutes for someone to greet or acknowledge us, although there were several employees up front conversing and what appeared to be one manager/lead employee. Business appeared slow on this day. Eventually, the manager/lead stopped cleaning the counter and acknowledged us. It was then that another employee offered to to take our order at the register. First impression. We tried the Cheesy Caprese and Guac' n Roll toasts. Both delicious and filling, but I personally enjoyed the Cheesy Caprese more for its flavor profile. We also ordered the Relax, Eat & Repeat parfait and split it since we had toasts. I've had this parfait a few times and it's one of my favorite ones to date. This was enough to fuel us in between store hopping. Due to the service, I give it 4 stars. Other than that, the ingredients hit on freshness and flavor.

The vibe is cozy and comfy with lots of different seating arrangements: couches, tables and chairs, whatever might best suit your needs. Service was in the back for a couple minutes when I entered but was super pleasant when they came out. They did initially forget to get me the muffin I ordered but were apologetic and made it right quickly when I reminded them. The atmosphere is overall welcoming and polite. I ordered a s'mores latte - one of their seasonal drinks - and a pumpkin muffin. The latte was beautiful, with swirls of what looked like marshmallow and a generous sprinkle of graham cracker on top...but to be honest, it tasted pretty generically coffeeish and was a little on the bitter/acidic side for me. It wasn't terrible, but not really what I was hoping for. The pumpkin muffin was moist and fluffy and I enjoyed that. They have drinks besides lattes (tea, matcha, I think I saw dirty sodas) and some simple food items too. I'd probably order a different drink if I were to return, and maybe ask for extra pumps of whatever flavoring was in it, but on the whole, a decent enough experience that served the purpose I needed it to.
