We arrived back Brussels Charleroi airport a little earlier than we really intended to and feeling…read moreslight tired. The airport was a bit chaotic and so, rather than waiting around in the main areas, we decided to retreat into the slightly less chaotic Cafe Leffe, where we could have a drink and a bite to eat and watch the planes take off.
It did it's job just fine, I guess. Somehow we'd actually managed to drink our fill of amazing Belgian beer already, so we settled for a cup of tea, a coke, and a croque monsior. It's hard to get a cup of tea or a coke wrong, but the croq was pretty naff. I know I can't expect gourmet but it was 99% bechemel sauce with precious little ham, cheese or seasoning. At least it was served hot.
This would then, have probably just about been a 3 star review, but the staff were slow, rude and disinterested. Too busy chatting to each other to deal with the growing line of customers and off-hand when the finally got around to us. I don't mind waiting when a place is busy if the staff are actually trying to deal with it, but when they can't be bothered it's pretty frustrating.
Still, less chaotic than the main airport and, as I said, a good spot for watching the planes take off while you wait your turn.
