Took cab from Flynn Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in Boston, MA to Logan Airport. Driver did not use meter. It was Sat am with very light traffic. When driver dropped us off he said the fare was $35.00. our fare to airport was $22.00 with slightly heavier traffic. I feel like the driver took advantage of us. Did not tip him. Lesson lear! Always ask fro amount of fare before getting in cab. I assumed the meter would be running. Recommendation would be to find another cab company. read more

One of their taxi drivers honked and then cut me off when I clearly had the right of way. I honked back and he proceeded to give me the middle finger. they should train their drivers on dangerous and inappropriate driving etiquette. not to mention I had my three small children in the car. This is the suburbs, not the big city. read more

Horrific service. Taxi yelled expletives at me and the dispatchers in Logan airport. Left the taxi. Taxi 1573

To start with I had to tell the taxi driver several times the name of my hotel. Poor driving too. When we reached my hotel I attempted to pay using his poorly designed credit card machine multiple times without it working. I then asked the hotel employee to see if I was missing anything. Nope. It still did not work. The taxi driver then started cussing at me. At that point the hotel employee told me to go inside as the taxis credit card machine did not work through multiple attempts and the drivers aggressive behavior. I went inside the hotel and as I stood at the front desk the taxi driver came inside the hotel yelling cuss words at me - every one you can think of - in front of staff and other guests. I told him the same credit card I tried using with your cab worked just fine checking in just now I'd like your cab number to report you so let's go outside and we'll try this a fourth time to see if your credit card machine decides to work. All the while he's cussing at me. Apparently 4th time doing the same exact thing as the other three times was the trick. I have traveled to multiple states and countries and have never had this horrible of an experience in my life with a taxi driver. I felt threatened. Getting screamed at and cussed at while in the cab when his machine didn't work, same inside the hotel, same when I tried a fourth time and after it actually worked. He then peels out of the hotel. Never ever do business with this company. They're not part of the BBB for a reason. read more

Do not ride with this company. We (4 of us) got off the train station and needed a ride to our hotel. There was a line of taxis and this was the only suv that can fit us all and our luggages. The guy came and opened the back trunk and said out loud that he had a bad back and so we had to haul the luggages up ourselves, then he had his stuff on one corner and didn't want to move it and said to put one luggage in the front seat but there was 4 of us and I needed the front seat. So after telling him the 3rd time he finally realized that yes we needed all seats so he moved his stuff aside so we can fit our last luggage in the trunk. When we sat in, my cousins were in the back and I was in the front passenger seat. My cousins did not get any AC at all in the back and it was hot as hell back there because it was divided by a plexiglass with a small window. I was in the front freezing my head off because he had the AC up high in the front. The driver did not put his seatbelt on the whole trip to our hotel so the seatbelt signal kept beeping! Seriously?! He also asked me if I've been here before and if I had a GPS and know where the exit is. Why would you need to ask me this if your job was to get us from point A to point B! I said I have and I WAS his GPS to our hotel as I had my google map up on my phone. I probably could have said I have not been to Boston so he can trick us by taking the long way.... I still gave him a big tip at the end because I wanted him to know it is NOT right the way he treated us. I wanted him to remember this forever. After he got his big tip, I think he felt bad and went to the back and hauled our luggage down hella fast and said thank you. (Wait! I thought your back was bad and couldn't lift our luggages?!?!) so the tip fixed your back huh? read more

Cab number 611 just cut me off in Coolidge Corner to the point where my dogs went flying in the back seat I had to break so hard. The driver didn't apologize and waved me off after pulling in front of me at a red light. I was literally scared for my life and almost had to swerve into the car next to me. I called the dispatcher of the taxi cab company to report the cab driving erratically and the dispatcher said cab 611 is the *owner of the company.* He was unapologetic and flippant. Do yourself a favor and call an Uber, call a Lyft, and stay safe. read more

So I thought I left my Wallet in this taxi companies taxi # 1051. I initially gave them 3 stars because of my own error. Car 1051 where are you???!!!! I would like to point out that after MANY- think 20-30 phone calls to all the different cab companies, getting hung up on over and over again, being spoken to in a rude manner, this gentlemen at 617taxicab took the time to explain things to me on how to go about getting my wallet back despite my 3star review on this company. I can't thank him enough for helping me. In a stressful time of losing ones ID, credit cards, check cards, nursing licenses etc. I am glad I was able to speak with him! He informed me to call the Hackney Carriage Unit and the Taxi 1051 is a universal charge for all taxi companies. DISCLAIMER: TAX#1051 appears on your credit statement for ALL TAXI companies- not just this company. I DID NOT GET MY WALLET BACK. From what I have heard, if your wallet is left in the taxi and the taxi driver finds it he will just throw it in the trash as he does not want the headache of turning it in to the Hackney Carriage Unit, headache from paperwork, headache from customers complaining that although he found your wallet $100/ID/credit card/etc is missing. So they opt to chuck it. Totally sucks for us. Word of advice: No matter how much of a rush you are in or how inebriated you are - take a look at the taxi company that is giving you a lift and call them directly when u lose your shtuff! Good luck! read more

Some of my friends seem to think that business travel, of any kind, is incredibly exciting. Some think it's a bore. Well, both of those groups would have had their thoughts validated had they been in the cab I was in this weekend. Having ventured to and from "Logan", as I put it, more times than I can count, I sort of feel that nothing will happen that I haven't seen before. All I expected was a simple ride from Logan to the Westin at Copley Place. I got so much more. My driver had my bag in the trunk and was accelerating before I was in the vehicle. Thank God for those Aerosoles with the extra added lofting ability or I would have been running behind the cab. The intense expression on his face seemed to me that this guy was on a mission. Could this vehicle break the sound barrier? I'm certain the expression on my face was a cross between that of a hostage victim or someone frantically grabbing for a safety device. And this was before we were even in the Tunnel. I vaguely remember wondering what trauma centers were located in the area. Could this guy have just gotten done watching The French Connection? If you have a need for speed, my driver is your man. Transit time from Logan International to the Westin: 9 minutes. When we arrived, he was already throwing my bag to the curb, while the nice valet at the hotel opened my door, probably wondering why my face was the color of salt. Was it my imagination or were the folks waiting at the hotel for a cab inching backward? In 9 minutes, my life passed before my eyeballs. I will remember those 9 minutes the next time I tell someone to step on it. read more

This company is the prime reason why Uber and Lyft are driving taxi services out of business. The drive from Boston airport to my hotel, which was supposed to have taken 10 minutes, ended up taking me 30 minutes and I paid $20 extra to driver because of the long route. Driver of cab #27748 didn't speak English and actually started hitting my hands (quite funny) when I tried to use Apple Pay on the card reading machine. Overall ridiculous experience. Back to Lyft/Uber. read more

I called to ask for a minivan cab, as we were bringing some plastic boxes from an old apartment to our new one. I informed the dispatcher that we had boxes, he said fine. When the driver got there (10 minutes late), he was very upset that we had boxes, even though the dispatcher knew. The driver still took us, with our boxes, to the address, so there was nothing wrong with the driver. My 1-star is for the DISPATCHER for not informing the driver! read more

I had a stellar experience with 617-TAXI-CAB. NOT a morning person and needed dependable transportation to Logan Airport for 6am flight. I did my Yelp research in advance and saw a total of 4 reviews, all 4 and 5 stars. Looked at their website, felt good about the choice and emailed my reservation request on a Thursday evening for a 3:45am pick up on Saturday. Phone rang approx. 30-45 minutes later with someone reading the specifics of request back to me and confirming reservation. And the caller has a sense of humor, is polite and tells me that driver will call me moments before pick up to tell me he's almost there. Sweeeeeet! Cut to 3:40 a.m. on Saturday and phone rings...I answer, walk downstairs to curb and find my chariot waiting. Driver was very polite and kept conversation to a minimum. Considering that even the chickens were still sleeping, it was much appreciated. I've programmed their easy-to-remember # into my iPhone. Thanks 617-TAXI-CAB! I'm a happy girl! read more

Buyer beware. I took a taxi from the airport to Cambridge and while the trip itself was fine (even though I had to provide turn by turn instructions), the checkout process was horrific. When the driver told me the total amount, I said I wanted to use a credit card to pay seeing as the cc machine was right there in front of me. The driver told me the cc machine was broken. I said I did not have cash and asked what other options I had to pay. He said, "cash." I asked if we could call the home office and have them run it via telephone. He said no, no one to call. I asked if he could contact another driver and have them come by and run the card. No, no other drivers. I asked if he had a mobile phone with card swipe. Nope. He was getting upset now and just kept saying that I needed to pay in cash or get out. I felt bad and didn't want to stiff him on the bill. I asked if I could get his license number and mail in money perhaps. No, no mailing address. So after back and forth for a good 15 minutes, he started toying with his meter machine and miraculously the credit card reader in the back seat came alive. I guess "broken" is a relative term for someone who wants cash instead of a credit card payment. Coincidentally, the website for this company doesn't actually load. There's a shocker... read more

I was robbed by a taxi driver from 617 Taxi Cab on my way back from the airport today. The driver sped away before I could retrieve my luggage and then pulled an abrupt U-turn, making it impossible to chase him. When I called the company, they refused to take down any of my details, and when I posted on their Facebook page, my post was deleted within minutes. I've logged a complaint with the police, but in the meantime, do not give this company your business. It clearly is not taking any steps to address a safety issue and demonstrated no concern for me as a customer. read more

Do NOT use 617-TAXI-CAB. I had a train to catch at South Station at 6:30, and I was hoping to take the Red Line. I called 617-TAXI-CAB at 3:30 to schedule a ride to the T station for 5:30, and they took my information down and promised me a cab. 5:35 rolled around with no sign of a cab. I called them just to confirm that a cab was on its way, and the woman on the phone tells me that no cabs are available and that I would have to wait an additional hour for one to come. I told her that I had called two hours in advance specifically to avoid this situation and that I had a train to catch at 6:30. I also told her that at the very least they could have called me to let me know I should make alternative arrangements. She had the nerve to give me attitude and make it seem like *I* was the idiot. In fact, she told me I should call my local cab company, and when I expressed incredulity that I would have to do that, she very rudely asked something to the effect of, "Do you have their phone number? Do you know how to Google?" I ended up having to call my local cab company (I needed no help Googling them) and, instead of taking the T as I had planned, I had to take my cab all the way to South Station because of all of the time I had lost thanks to 617-TAXI-CAB. It cost me at least $25 more than I had planned on spending because of their failure to show up. I would *NEVER* do business with them again, after the ordeal I went through. It's one thing to make a mistake with dispatching cabs and taking reservations, but it's something else to respond to a frustrated customer with a disproportionate degree of unprofessionalism and rudeness. 617-TAXI-CAB is an awful operation, to say the least. read more

I agree with the others...avoid at all costs. I booked ahead of time online for a run to the airport. After my pick-up time passed I called and was informed that there was no record of my reservation. I asked them to send a cab anyway and when I asked for an ETA the dispatcher hung up on me. Reserved a taxi for 4:00am from North Quincy on a Wednesday. Driver got to our place 15 or 20 minutes early. He was very courteous and helped with all the luggage. Drive to Logan was quick and pleasant. Pretty happy with the service. Only thing I'd improve is that the phone number is apparently not 24 hours, and no dispatcher called ahead of time on the pickup day to let us know the taxi was on the way. Although we got email confirmation during the reservation booking. Only after the taxi arrived did I get a robot phonecall that the taxi was waiting outside. Nobody answered my calls between 3:00am and 3:40am, other end just kept ringing. read more

The newest and best Boston taxi company. These guys rock. I call them every day and the manager Victor is always kind and helpful. If you look at the negative reviews posted here they have responded with a reasonable explanation to each and every one. Booked a cab from Brighton to go to Logan at 4pm last Friday (made the call at around 1pm). 3:55 I get a phone call - "Your cab is pulling up now" Dash outside and there he is. This was by far the worst taxi ride of my life. We had a $7.80 on the meter and after we went on that, we apparently had to pay another $7 because of an apparent "toll" the driver had to pay to get back in the airport. We went from the airport to East Boston and we were charged $14 for it, and besides the driver did not have change so we had to do with a $5 bill. He said he had to make a fee to get back into the airport, but it wasnt right. This was on Thursday, 2/18/16 At 6:32PM. read more

Avoid. Plainly asked repeatedly before getting into the cab at Logan airport whether they'd be able to get me to the station in time to catch my train - bus service was out of commission. The driver ignored my question until I got in the cab and still gave a non answer after I got in - better hopes got the best of me as I hoped I could avoid the 2 hour setback. October 5, 2015 at approximately 2:00pm taxi driver 1356 driving for 617 TAXI CAB almost killed me. As i was taking the right turn he cuts around me and called me harsh names, cuts in front of me and slammed on his brakes making it easy for me to hit him from behind, but i didnt. This company is a total rip-off. They charged me a $13 surcharge because they used a van to take me home, as opposed to a sedan. I was picked up from the airport in a next cab up situation.
