I recently bought a used tube amp from this store online and had it shipped to another state. First…read moreoff, the amp was mislabeled on the site (the website listed it as a Fender Supersonic 22 but the picture was clearly an older Supersonic 60) and I had to call to clarify which it was. The first day I called, the person who answered didn't understand my question, said they would call me back, and never did. I called again two days later, finally got an answer, and made the purchase. When the amp arrived, the box was in absolutely terrible shape - barely sealed, full of holes, and partly crushed (see pics). Obviously some of that could have happened in transit. I hope it didn't leave the store like this. But a lot of that damage could have been prevented by actually packing the box properly. There was A TON of empty space inside. The amp was bubble wrapped, but the box was much larger than the amp. That empty space was not effectively padded, so the amp could easily roll around within the box. Against all odds, the amp still turned on, but it has severe tube rattle. I'm likely going to have to replace all the tubes. I'm guessing you guys don't typically sell amps in that state, so the tubes probably got busted in transit, which could have been prevented by putting a single sliver of a thought into how the box was packed. Anyway, I have no idea what this store is like if you go there in person but I STRONGLY recommend against getting something shipped from them.

This business is the best place for repairs that I have ever seen in Greenville, South Carolina. I…read moreused to live in Spartanburg, SC and got help from a luthier named Al Beam up there. Al was amazing. Then I moved down here. This business is amazing as well. I had a catastrophic injury (yes, I said "injury" instead of damage because my instrument is part of me rather than a separate object), and Andrew, the person who repaired my violin, worked relentlessly on it until it was not only back into original shape but better than it was originally. I was referred to Jim Clinton Violins from Pecknell, which has kind people running it and was kind enough to treat me as a human being. If y are rolling in money and used to seeing others treated badly, go to House of Violins. you can see classism at work there. Filthy, nasty attitudes and rude, horrible, dishonest people who dwell in foolish consistency. I tried to get help from House of Violins and was treated very disrespectfully by a snobbish and harsh man who humiliated me and gave me a grossly inflated price. I will never forget the respect I was given at Jim Clinton Violins. I am a professional in the. Greenville Community and will do everything in my power to make sure that their reputation is carried far and wide as a great place to go. They are truly gifted craftspeople who know not only the way to bring an instrument back to life but to convey the humanity of their work as well. They have an old-world aspect to their work which is a challenge to find, but it is there.
