I recently bought a used tube amp from this store online and had it shipped to another state. First…read moreoff, the amp was mislabeled on the site (the website listed it as a Fender Supersonic 22 but the picture was clearly an older Supersonic 60) and I had to call to clarify which it was. The first day I called, the person who answered didn't understand my question, said they would call me back, and never did. I called again two days later, finally got an answer, and made the purchase. When the amp arrived, the box was in absolutely terrible shape - barely sealed, full of holes, and partly crushed (see pics). Obviously some of that could have happened in transit. I hope it didn't leave the store like this. But a lot of that damage could have been prevented by actually packing the box properly. There was A TON of empty space inside. The amp was bubble wrapped, but the box was much larger than the amp. That empty space was not effectively padded, so the amp could easily roll around within the box. Against all odds, the amp still turned on, but it has severe tube rattle. I'm likely going to have to replace all the tubes. I'm guessing you guys don't typically sell amps in that state, so the tubes probably got busted in transit, which could have been prevented by putting a single sliver of a thought into how the box was packed. Anyway, I have no idea what this store is like if you go there in person but I STRONGLY recommend against getting something shipped from them.

Sigal's estate gave his collection away and the Carolina Music Museum was able to take the whole collection of over 700 instruments. Only about a quarter of the instruments are displayed because of lack of space. The museum focuses on the music and technology from 1775 to present day. Some of the museum is interactive but you cannot touch most of the antiques. The oldest Steinway is in the museum; harpsichords and so many pianos. The museum is on two levels and you can take the stairs or an elevator. At the moment, a special exhibit, Sound of America is taking up space on the first floor. I enjoyed learning some history through music. I liked that the museum did not focus on any specific type of musical genre but embraced them all from Blues to Jazz to Musicals to Rock to Rap to Classical to Gospel to Swing to Exotica. It was like going back in time seeing the eight track player that I used to listen to at my grandmother's place. It brought back great memories. Then seeing the walkman. I enjoyed seeing the radios and the cassette tapes I used to record music on from the radio. How things have changed. This museum is a gem and I've not seen anything like it before. I will be back to spend more time exploring.

Of the four piano stores I visited, I felt Robert Jones Pianos & Organs was definitely the best! Robert personally helped us to choose our piano, answering our questions, and giving us fair and honest information on all brands and models. He is a true professional -- in every way. The showroom was large, with all brands and styles to choose from; both new pianos and used. Robert is very talented, and plays superbly. It was a wonderful experience just to hear him play the pianos we were looking at. Not all pianos sound alike -- and we were able to listen as an audience, to evaluate the various brands and models. Robert Jones is not high pressure, just the opposite -- a nice guy, who wants you to be happy with whatever choice you make. After checking out pianos elsewhere, we came back to Robert Jones to make our purchase -- and he matched the price. He gave us a free piano bench -- and fitted it with legs to match the piano's legs! Above and beyond what anyone would expect! The delivery was free, (although almost an hour from his shop) prompt, efficient, and truly professional as well: Robert personally arrived along with the piano mover, Andrew, they set it quickly, to our satisfaction, without incident -- and at my request, he gave us a little performance! If only I could play as well as he does...... I can think of nothing more Robert could have done -- he knows his business, and certainly made us happy. If I purchase again, or decide to purchase an organ I'll be back to visit Robert. I would and will certainly recommend him! (If there were 6 stars, he would receive it!)

Al was amazing. Then I moved down here. This business is amazing as well. I had a catastrophic injury (yes, I said "injury" instead of damage because my instrument is part of me rather than a separate object), and Andrew, the person who repaired my violin, worked relentlessly on it until it was not only back into original shape but better than it was originally. I was referred to Jim Clinton Violins from Pecknell, which has kind people running it and was kind enough to treat me as a human being. If y are rolling in money and used to seeing others treated badly, go to House of Violins. you can see classism at work there. Filthy, nasty attitudes and rude, horrible, dishonest people who dwell in foolish consistency. I tried to get help from House of Violins and was treated very disrespectfully by a snobbish and harsh man who humiliated me and gave me a grossly inflated price. I will never forget the respect I was given at Jim Clinton Violins. I am a professional in the. Greenville Community and will do everything in my power to make sure that their reputation is carried far and wide as a great place to go. They are truly gifted craftspeople who know not only the way to bring an instrument back to life but to convey the humanity of their work as well. They have an old-world aspect to their work which is a challenge to find, but it is there.
