Always great to go to Ming Wo if you're a cook. I miss the Chinatown store so much; that was a…read moreregular haunt of mine whenever I needed something. Great selection, great prices, friendly staff. A wonderful place, and a Vancouver tradition.

This is precisely the kind of store that I really should avoid…read more It is dangerous. It is intoxicating. If you are into kitchenware, cooking and baking, entertaining, or serviceware, or if you are in need of a hostess or housewarming gift, be forewarned. You will find what you need (or want) here, and you will probably pay top dollar for it. And you will do so gladly. They have mainstream kitchen gadgets along with very precise and specific baking and cooking tools, along with fabulous Asian ceramic bowls and dishes and chopsticks and more. Ramekins in every color? Check. Contemporary placemats? Check. Pots and cutlery and kitchen scales and kitchen gadgets that I don't even know what they do but they look cool so I feel is definitely should get them? Check, check and CHECK! They carry a lot of OXO merchandise (I always liked the ergonomic nature of this brand's products, and they last a long time), and yes, some of these items are available at HomeSense at half the price. But they also have here obscure kitchen tools you can't find elsewhere. If you are seriously into cooking or baking, I'm sure you'd find what you need here. Some items are overpriced. I purchased two Swedish dishcloths here for $5.95 each. (They come in a ton of patterns and colors here, which is fun!). But I know these are inexpensive, and on my last trip to Bellingham, I got a set of three of them for $8. So they are quite pricey at this store. And I've seen some of their more common items for sale elsewhere at half the price they were selling for here. However, there were quite a few deals to be found at this store, too. They have lots of high quality tapered candles in different colors, only 99 cents each here. And they've lots of white ceramic dishware and serving pieces at extremely reasonable prices. If you search this store, you will find bargains. I have to add that the young ladies who work here are all super friendly and helpful, too.

Very Disappointed- Poor Management Ruined Everything If I…read morecould give the zero star, I would do that. I usually don't write reviews, but I feel like people should know what they're getting into. This company might look nice from the outside with all their fancy products, but the truth is the management there is completely incompetent. As an employee, if you have an issue, good luck getting any proper support- management just makes excuses and blames everyone else. It's obvious they don't respect their employees either, because the staff seemed stressed and miserable. Maybe if the managers actually did their jobs instead of hiding in the back office, this place wouldn't be such a mess. One of the worst work experiences I've ever had was working at this company. There is absolutely no management there and they don't care at all about their employees.

I just wanted to share my deeply disappointing experience with Blu Bathworks 45-degree Fenix vanity…read moreand their customer service. Our experience with both the product and customer service has been a nightmare. My husband and I are both architects and value a clean, modern design, so we were drawn to the Fenix vanity's seamless look. We purchased the 30" vanity with a black Fenix body and black lacquer drawer front (matching Fenix was not option at the time) for $4K. At this price range we expected perfection. The drawer arrived scratched and was a different shade of black from the body. We requested a replacement in black Fenix to match the body. It took over a year for Blu Bathworks to replace the drawer front, during which we didn't install the vanity because we were uncertain of the outcome. The worst was yet to come. A couple of months after finally using the vanity, the Fenix material at the bottom of the sink started to bubble up and crack. Additionally, because the Fenix material is flat matte, it doesn't repel dirt; toothpaste forms a white film on the basin making the sink looks disgusting after just one use. we have to clean it every time after brushing, which is both inconvenient and frustrating. Despite the product being under warranty, Blu Bathworks refused a refund and only offered to replace it with the same product. We don't want the same bad product only to have the same problem a few months later. So, we requested a replacement with their solid surface stone-like gray countertop, which is not of great quality either and wouldn't look seamless, especially with the black vanity body. The entire experience has been frustrating, and we really want to caution others against purchasing this product. After spending this money, we expected better quality and service. We regret we did not buy a stone sink for this price.

Beware of paper-thin brass used for the in-wall rough valves. The female connection of the brass…read morerough-in valve for showers is so thin, it's prone to splitting, As ours did. We had to tear out a brand new shower assembly to replace the valve and fix the water damaged walls. Customer service sent us a replacement valve, but did not acknowledge a defect of the unit itself. The replacement valve had the same connection thickness as the failed unit. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
