I stated that I wasn't keen to crown a healthy tooth for just a cosmetic reason at 11, especially when my insurance wouldn't cover crowns until 16. She agreed, and I was given a quote that showed $1175 for one crown on visit 1 and $1175 for a second crown on visit 2 if I changed my mind. The following Monday at the appt, BOTH of my child's front teeth were shaved down. The dentist then sent her receptionist in to take the blame, claiming she thought I changed my mind and authorized it later --- as if 2 minutes with the receptionist was going to change my thoughts after 45 minutes with the "expert", and when I pointed that out, then they referred to my HSA and that I "had the money anyway" which was absolutely not the point. I was told they would not charge for the second and paid for the ONE I authorized in full. Then, a few weeks later, I receive a bill for an additional $260 and the statement shows they ALSO did bill insurance, which did pay after all, so they collected an additional $580 from my dental insurance (which I now will not be able to use out of the $1000 annual maximum) for A TOOTH THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE TOUCHED, effectively costing me an additional $600 for their error. When I called, I was told "I can't help you because I don't see a balance," as if waiving the $260 bill negates the extra $580 they have effectively scammed and stolen from me and my insurance company. i will be taking all possible action against this dentist and the office and suggest you stay far away from their "miscommunication" and "mistakes"

My initial phone call to schedule an appointment was even a positive experience! The receptionist was friendly, considerate, helpful, and precise describing what I needed to bring and what to expect. The hygienist was supportive, thoughtful, and kind. The checkout receptionist was so friendly and considerate. Dr. Vince Penesis had extensive knowledge of my autoimmune disease, Sjogren's Syndrome, which is rare to find and necessary given the effects Sjogren's has especially with dry mouth. I have had Sjogren's for 24 years and he gave recommendations I have never received! Thank you so much for everything Endodontic Specialists of Illinois! Dr. Vince Penesis took the time to explain everything to us. What to expect and what could be our next step. Patiently he answered all our questions with the utmost respect. Update: Sep19 2022 Summary:…read moreI rarely write online review... Unless there is something exceptional.. Just get back today from a quick root canal follow up visit with Dr. Burgener @ Wheaton office ... Couldn't be more happier with the result of root canal.( All the issues with tooth were fixed in just one previous visit ) ************************************************************ Below more details: ( For patients whoever want to know more) The Situation with my tooth was complicated (before root canal).. During the first visit , Dr. Burgener immediately point out there was serious Periodental Pocket around the tooth..If it is left untreated.. The tooth probably can not be saved eventually (even after root canal)... From that moment , I realize why she become Excellent Surgeon..(Looking at the root causes of a issue, foresee all other problem in the mouth that will cause future root canal failure...) Gum issues/ Disease is a different function(Periodentist) I was expecting her to say " After Root canal.. Suggest to see Periodentist) But she never say anything like that... To my surprise, As a talented Endodontist, She come up with a creative solution( Special filling with medication to cover the gum area).. So here I am , Within 2 Weeks after root canal.. My Gum @ that Problem tooth area come back( almost fully recovered) As we all know, Periodental pockets / Disease are difficult to treat...and very very slow recovery.. or in certain cases.. Can not be reversed at all. I feel I owe Dr Burgener a Big "Thank you".. She fix both the tooth problem( Root canal) and Periodental issue( Gum Pocket) in one visit for root canal. She is doing extra work( not her function at all) and don't even mention about it...( My original thought was I might need Periodental surgery or at least root scaling and planing with a Periodentist) Really appreciated for her Kindness. ************************************************************* BTW. One of my friend check on me lately and ask me how I am doing after root canal.. During the conversation , We find out we are seeing the same Endodontist(Dr Burgener) I was thrilled to know she drive all the way to Hinsdale ( That is a one hour drive for her..) to see Dr Burgener two years ago for a front tooth root canal.. The minute the two of us find out we are seeing the same doctor. Both of us smiled with a big relief... as we know we are in good hands and get top notch Endodontic care. My friend also give Dr. Burgener Thumbs up.

I called back in January just to find out that they never sent it to my insurance and that they were going to send it "right now." They didn't even send the bill for my initial checkup to my insurance. I called back this month, February, and they claim that they still haven't heard back from them. I have never had to wait more than 5 days to hear back from my insurance. Almost 5 months of waiting. This is disheartening since I have something pretty serious going on with my tooth and now I have to find a new endodontist and have my records sent over to them.

Both of his assistants are amazing and very kind and informative as well as Dr. Corns. You could immediately tell he's very good at what he does, instead of the usual numbing at a dentist that numbs your entire face he numbed only the tooth and area immediately around it and the entire root canal was completely painless. They do separate the procedure into two visits about a month apart because he said because there are much better outcomes this way. After leaving that first day my tooth was completely pain free and only had to wait two hrs before I could eat normally. My tooth felt completely back to normal in between visits and the second part was very quick and also painless. Everyone I met was extremely kind, professional, and talented. Pricing was a little less than the quote I received on the phone and in line with the other places I called around to, but most of them couldn't fit me in for weeks, and even though his schedule was full he got me almost immediately. I've always heard root canals were painful but I've felt absolutely no pain during or since the procedure. I can't recommend Dr Corns and his team enough, my only regret is that he doesn't do general dentistry or I'd have a new dentist. Their offices were nice, clean and very comfortable as well. Complete experience was a 10/10.
