We went there for my 11 year old child's broken front tooth. The dentist recommended we crown both…read morefront teeth, even though only one was broken, to ensure they match. I stated that I wasn't keen to crown a healthy tooth for just a cosmetic reason at 11, especially when my insurance wouldn't cover crowns until 16. She agreed, and I was given a quote that showed $1175 for one crown on visit 1 and $1175 for a second crown on visit 2 if I changed my mind. The following Monday at the appt, BOTH of my child's front teeth were shaved down. The dentist then sent her receptionist in to take the blame, claiming she thought I changed my mind and authorized it later --- as if 2 minutes with the receptionist was going to change my thoughts after 45 minutes with the "expert", and when I pointed that out, then they referred to my HSA and that I "had the money anyway" which was absolutely not the point. I was told they would not charge for the second and paid for the ONE I authorized in full. Then, a few weeks later, I receive a bill for an additional $260 and the statement shows they ALSO did bill insurance, which did pay after all, so they collected an additional $580 from my dental insurance (which I now will not be able to use out of the $1000 annual maximum) for A TOOTH THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE TOUCHED, effectively costing me an additional $600 for their error. When I called, I was told "I can't help you because I don't see a balance," as if waiving the $260 bill negates the extra $580 they have effectively scammed and stolen from me and my insurance company. i will be taking all possible action against this dentist and the office and suggest you stay far away from their "miscommunication" and "mistakes"

Today, I called Dr. Wertz office (based off of a referral to their office), I was able to get in right in. They told me to head on over! I was in pain but I even told them it wasn't horrendous but uncomfortable. I couldn't believe they were so nice to take a brand new patient on a moments notice! Once I arrived, I was greeted with a really sweet front desk girl who actually helped me a ton and even went out of her way to send insurance documents that my ins. Company needed from me and sent by me! Again, I was blown away! I had no wait even tho I saw all his rooms busy except mine obviously. A young gentleman started my visit and also a woman was helping him and she ended up doing the work aside the doc. Both of them were absolutely just pleasant sweet people! Lastly, Dr came in and he instantly made me feel so comfortable and I could genuinely tell, he really cared about his patients. He was willing to do whatever it took that day to get my tooth fixed. He at first thought root canal and most Dr's would just go with that to make more money, but once he drilled down, he saw I still had solid ground to fill it instead, saving me half the money! I didn't feel one slight bit of pain. He was constantly making sure I felt nothing!! This dentist and his staff are one of a kind and I had the BEST experience and will definitely be a life long patient despite my insurance being out of network. They are just a hidden gem and I'm super grateful I heard about this office.

But you aren't going to like anybody who tells you that due to neglect you are going to need to get your remaining teeth pulled.
