Lindsey was super nice & knowledgeable. I'd recommend her any day bc of level of customer service…read more After trying on two helmets, I landed on a sedici with an interchangeable visor (Yesss orange). I'm very pleased with the customer service I received today.

I own two motorcycles, a Harley and a Janus. A lot of Harley's products are made by other…read moremanufacturers and then just marked up. For example, I have a 3/4 open face Harley helmet. It was $255. Later when I needed parts for it I found out that it was made by LS2 and I got the parts to fix it from here. And their price for the same helmet...$140. Fool me once.... So now I sometimes find a product I like down at Tobacco Road or another Harley dealership and then I check to see who makes it and the price difference. And if it's a big difference I go to Cycle Gear and get it here. The staff here is super knowledgeable. They know exactly how to fit you for various gear including helmets. They will install your headsets and communication devices in your helmet free of charge. The one thing I don't like...a lot of times in the helmet area what is on the shelf is what they have. I bought a Shoei helmet from them and it wasn't until later that I learned it was missing a chin guard and a breath guard that came with the helmet. They throw away the boxes that the helmets come in. Sometimes they have a little plastic bag with the paperwork, manuals, and additional pieces...often times they don't. And it doesn't make a difference if you order it online, they often will just ship inventory from another store so it's hard to get an unopened helmet. They have a great selection of all types of gear from gloves to chaps, adventure style pants and jackets that zip together and have tons of tech. Various clothes and items to make you comfortable. Even cupholders and oil! On top of it all they are huge supporters of the local motorcycle community. They host bike nights and are often the starting point for group rides to big events and they even host some of their own events. And when a rider passes, they sometimes setup a memorial table for that rider to honor them.

JR took the time and had the patience to make sure I walked out of there with what I wanted. JR along with the entire staff went above and beyond for me and it was noticed and greatly appreciated. This isn't even my home/local Harley dealer but I will gladly ride out of my way to make sure only they get my business. I won't go anywhere else. Thank you to everyone at Thunder Road Harley Davidson.

Damn fine place. I…read moredrove out here from Roanoke due to their good selection to try out a few bikes. The place was completely unassuming from the outside, looking almost like a warehouse with a window and door put in but when i stepped in the place looked great. The bikes were displayed nicely, the people were friendly, and to sum it up it had an attractive interior. They pulled out three bikes for me to try with almost no wait (due to the normal paperwork, and printed temp. registration and all that business) gave me no time limit, and set out. The strip that they're on makes for great test rides: straightaways, parking lots and neighborhoods for you to whip around trying the bikes at different speeds and maneuvering techniques. They worked with my kindly, honestly, and quickly on my old bike trade in (it's the limited blue 1200 nightster they now have if you're looking for a beast of a bike) and my new 2014 vrod muscle (even more beastly). They all went the extra mile, whether it was grabbing me water or offering to let me charge my phone. But what really got me, they gave me a little parting gift of a t-shirt that was a lifesaver of a makeshift facemask when I hit pouring rain on my 1.5 hour ride back. Great place, great people, great product, I'll be visiting soon.
