The result was well in a word "Horrible" - it started when my son who is twenty years old purchased a box of shells for target practice later that day. He noticed some rifles in a safe when he was cashing out at the register and he recognized a .308 Rifle I have wanted for our collection. He comes to the car and tells me they have one at a great price of $399.00 so we go back in to make the purchase but some guy who works there in between trying to woof down a half chicken decided that he wasn't selling it to us because my son had mentioned we were interested. It was really quite puzzling. The guy reasoning was my twenty year old son mentioned it and he didn't have his id on him so because he told me the gun was in the store and i went in to purchase it he refused to sell it to us. UNBELIEVABLE! My son says Ray is a great guy and I believe him but the bait worm salesman who loves half chickens is killing customer service. Unfortunately for them I am one and done because I get terrific service at Ken's so I am sticking with them. Oh yeah one final note, mr by the books salesman guy had just sold my son a box of 9mm bullets ten minutes earlier. I reckon the id wasn't important for that sell. Kinda of a double standard. When I got to the front I told the people there a man and a woman that the item I purchased was already paid for. I paid the man that was cleaning out his booth. OMGosh . They said he can't do that and there was a big tadoo with them going back to talk to him. I Was embarrassed that I had gotten him trouble. Such a nice man too. Professionally they should not have brought that up in front of ME. TOTALLY not a good customer experience. I also bought something else and told them it was 10% off as there was a sign in this both stating so. They said that vendor was not running that sell anymore. WELL maybe take the sign down then. I've been visiting this record store (in it's several locations) for about 20 years now and it's…read morenever let me down. The bargains aren't as prevalent as they used to be pre-Ebay and Discogs, but there are still some deals to be had. The main thing about this store is that the owner, Sam, is a condition guy. He really only buys records that are in good shape. The jacket may be torn to shreds, but the disc inside will be near perfect, and those with shredded jackets are usually in his dollar bin. Every time I walk into this store I find something I've been looking for all over the place. He's got a great records throughout from his dollar bin to his collectibles section, you're sure to find something (if not several things) to suit your fancy. Downtown Records remains one of my top stores in the US. The only down side is that due to the owner's real occupation he's only open on Saturdays and closes up completely for tax season.

When I dropped off my car, I was told UPS would deliver the Pioneer speakers by 1 PM and the job would be done by 2. When I called later that afternoon, they said UPS might still be coming and tried to upsell me on a pricier Alpine set "since the door panels were already off." I declined. When I came back, they denied ever promising the install and just left my keys and deposit on the desk. I never got the service I paid for. Really disappointing experience--poor communication and no accountability.
