They're happy to clean while I'm here and my three dogs are generally wandering around, and sometimes I have neighborhood kids in and out of the house. I did get 2 more quotes the next morning. Didn't even bother reading, it's all or nothing here. There was a deposit required which is understandable, but it was less than half of what we ended up paying. Plus Madeleine uses Venmo. I did my research of course. I get a text, Madeleine conforming we're still on with the rain. Movers come, leave right at 2:30, Madeleine was there before that, told my wife how much to pay and boom. I didn't even need to be there. I get a text saying she's done, with a photo of where our key is. Got home and this place was rockin. I wish my wife would have taken a before photo. I know for sure with a dog, baby, and the stress of buying a house the place was full of dust, hair, nails, spills we said we'd clean later, and lord knows what else. It looked so good. Anyone with a dog knows hair is everywhere. I looked all along the baseboards and didn't see anything, they were no longer dark gray. Baseboards. She cleans Commercial and Residential and if you couldn't tell by the review I'm recommending her for any cleaning you need done. I was very clear up front--I told them how many windows I had and that my house is raised five feet. They quoted me $200, which felt fair for a full, detailed job. I agreed. They showed up on time and said the job would take about an hour and a half. But 45 minutes later, the technician rang the doorbell to say he was finished. That already seemed too quick to have cleaned all the windows and scrubbed the frames of a raised house with around 18 windows--but I was on a work call, so I said I'd check the work when I was done. When I finally walked around to inspect everything, I saw that while the window panes looked okay, the frames were still visibly dirty. I asked him to come back out and showed him several areas that hadn't been cleaned. That's when he told me he had only cleaned the middle of the windows. I reminded him that one of the main reasons I hired him was because he explicitly said he cleans the frames too. His response? "Do you want me to do all of them?" I was floored. Of course I do--that's literally what I hired him for. He got back to work, and as I watched from inside, I realized he didn't have a ladder. My house is raised, and some of the windows are 12 feet off the ground--there's just no way you can scrub those frames from the ground. When he finished again, I invited him in and asked him to open a few windows so we could both look at the still-dirty frames. I asked him directly if he had a ladder. He said yes. I asked again if he had used one. He finally admitted he hadn't. At that point, I was too frustrated to keep going back and forth. I told him I'd pay him half and let it go. To his credit, he was respectful and receptive when I gave him feedback. But that doesn't change the fact that I didn't get the service I was promised. Hopefully it was a good lesson learned for him going toward with his new business.
