The Grooming and Boarding Cottage in Harahan continues be a stellar grooming and boarding facility…read more The groomers are professional, do an outstanding job and the prices are reasonable. The boarding area is clean, the dogs are taken out 4 times a day and get plenty of TLC while in their care. In addition, this business gives back to the community by grooming dogs for the Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Service, the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter. I am a former client. My dog has always looked great after each grooming appointment. Which I would…read moregive 5 stars for. They've granted any grooming requests I've made. The issue I had was my dog being left in a kennel while she wasn't being groomed. Every time i picked her up she would panting, barking, pacing inside the kennel. We do not kennel our dog and never have the entire time we've owned her which has been over 5 years since we rescued her. I have to bring a cup of water when I pick her up which was usually 2-3 hours later. Because I felt like she was extremely hot and thirsty and always drank all the water by the time I arrived home which takes 7 minutes. So if your dog has never been kenneled or has been traumatized from being kenneled due to it's past. I do not recommend this place. If your dog loves to socialize with other dogs and is kennel trained then by all means try it out.

I used this grooming company for a long time, years. I used Avery. She was very good with my dog…read more Seemed patient and kind. The grooming itself was very good as well. The issue was that throughout the time my dog developed fleas and was always an issue right after the grooming. They use a van to do the grooming. It was very difficult to get rid of the fleas since they get on your furniture and such. Well Avery stopped working for this company and we started with another grooming company. Intersting enough, no more flea issue. Can only guess that the source was the grooming van. There is no way that the company or groomer was able to "clean" or get rid of fleas between grooming stops. Just a word of caution

I have seen people claim they checked cameras and their pet was never outside the kennel. In my experience I check the cameras intermittently throughout the day and sometimes he is napping in the kennel other times he is out on the play yard living his best life. Just depends on the time of day you check, but I assure you they get plenty of play time and socialization. He normally sleeps good the next day because he plays so hard while there. They even post daily pics of the dogs to their facebook so if you miss your pets play times, you can be reassured there as well. The staff is also wonderful and are always happy to see him. I would not feel comfortable leaving him in anyone else's care.

Let me just start with how happy I am with my experience today. I brought my two golden retrievers…read morein because they needed to be groomed (their grinch feet were out of control) with us just moving to the area I needed to find someone. From a little research and word of mouth I stumbled upon the rovervelt. I'm very hesitant on where I take the boys because I've had groomers go clipper happy before, but I've heard nothing but great things. From the moment I walked in everyone was absolutely amazing and super welcoming. I decided to add play time as well as have them groomed and it was the best decision. I dropped them off around 9am and picked them up around 530pm. The price was amazing for what they provide, coming from California I was used to paying $350 for both dogs just to get groomed, It felt like a crime leaving paying what I did! It was no where close to that, I would have been completely okay with paying more! That's how happy I am with The Rovervelt. 1. The boys look great 2. grinch feet -gone 3.butts cleaned up 4. they are so soft 5. they smell AMAZING, and last but not least 6. they are soooo tired! They have been asleep (besides to eat dinner -but I wouldn't want to sleep through dinner, so I don't blame them) since we got home. They told me they loved playing and they couldn't get them out of pool haha. We plan on returning weekly for full day play, monthly for grooming, and boarding with we go out of town. I will tell everyone I know with dogs about how amazing they cared for my boys. Thank you so much Rovervelt for taking care of them! Plus pictures that were posted on the Facebook page shows me how happy Mav and Goose are with their experience.

This is just a first review. My husband recently surprised me with a beautiful puppy. It was time…read morefor her 10 week shots and we asked around for who was the best local Vet. Most people recommended Dr. Moreau. So today was our first visit. First thoughts, the parking lot was very small. We had to wait for someone to leave so we could park. That was some fancy driving/wiggling to make that parking happen. Then we walked inside and the waiting room was quite small and full. So we check in and finally found somewhere to sit. We showed up about 10 minutes before her appt. and still had to wait a while to be seen. It looks to me as though they possibly over book. So we finally get called to the back. First impression of the dr is very nice, well dressed professional. He took his time explaining important things we should know being first time puppy owners. He took his time and was very gentle with our baby girl. He gave us a chance to ask any questions we had. Overall we enjoyed the doctor but not sure if we want to deal with a scared puppy in an over crowded waiting area. We will try again before we make a final decision.
