However, before requesting a rideshare from the airport I thought to myself ,"Let me do a quick google search and see if I maybe there's a coworking space that I could work from for the day." Luckily I came across Pearl Cowork. I signed up for a tour of the place to start in 30 minutes, hopped into my 15 minute ride and hoped for the best. On my way there, I received an email with helpful instructions in finding the suite on the second floor. Upon arriving, the manager (Madison) greeted me and was super friendly. She said that indeed they offered day passes. She gave me a tour of the space and I felt so grateful because this had exactly what I needed (wifi, outlets, several collaborative/private spaces, and coffee). The workspace is at the Pearl which has lots of dining options for breakfast and lunch and the manager even gave me a coupon for 15% off a meal (so kind). I was worried that because I was working from a different time zone I would have to find somewhere else to work as it got later but the manager explained that while most everyone left by 5, I could stay later but would need to be mindful of the doors that do lock. I only had to stay one hour after and it wasn't a problem. Overall, this was a very positive experience and I am so glad this was where I experienced my first time at a coworking space. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that like me needs a quite place to work from for a day or for anyone looking for something more permanent.

The event was catered by Page Barteau and the food and drink provided was fabulous. Marinated beef kabobs, chicken fajitas, tamales, nachos, guacamole, pico, various salsas, churros, all flavors of margaritas, at least three brands of beer. Also wine. The layout was such that no one waited very long. At least four bars and food tables throughout the outdoor riverside area. There was a DJ setup and he kept it bopping. A separate area towards the Pecan St. front of the building was the kid zone. Ballon hats and each kid received a swag bag. Free parade seats were available on a first come basis. It was a very nice event. Make friends with a tenant for next year. Ha, ha.
