I've used this facility in the past and wanted to share my experience so other pet parents can make…read moreinformed decisions. About a year ago, my dog stayed here for four days. When I picked him up, he had bleeding on his feet. He has high anxiety and I assumed it was related to stress or coping in a group environment. Several months later, I brought him back briefly for two days, then did not return again until this week (about six months later). Unfortunately, on his first day back this week, my dog was attacked by another dog. During play the other dog jumped him from behind, grabbed him near the ears, and pulled on him while my dog was trying to run away. Staff did intervene and separated them. What was most upsetting was learning that: the other dog had multiple prior incidents, and my dog had previously had an altercation with that same dog ! and I was NEVER informed of that prior incident (under old manager) This information was never disclosed to me. In hindsight, this explains the unexplained bleeding I noticed during his stay last year -- it was likely not anxiety, but bullying by the same dog. I do want to acknowledge that there is a new manager, and she was professional, honest, and caring. She confirmed that the dog involved is no longer allowed in group play, which I appreciate. The staff also showed genuine care for my dog. Because I had contractors working in my home, I did bring him back the following day. During that visit, staff recognized that he was overwhelmed by other dogs being in his face and appropriately removed him from group play so he could decompress and spend time with staff instead. They were kind to him, attentive, and loving, and I'm grateful for that. Unfortunately my baby did developed a bad case of stress colitis and have not gone back. That said, I strongly believe that dogs with a known history of aggression or repeated incidents should never be placed back into group play. It puts other dogs at risk and creates trauma. I would also suggest this facility consider structured small-group or high-anxiety dog programs going forward. While the current staff clearly care, transparency and proactive safety protocols are critical in a daycare environment. I hope sharing this helps prevent similar situations for other dogs. I'm sure the new manager will make the necessary changes needed for babies left in their care.

This is our second time using The Dog Knowledge. We have become such busy people as a society and…read morethe thought of trying to train our dogs without help was just too overwhelming. The 4 week program gave us the perfect foundation to build on and have a well behaved member of our family. Highly recommend

We just finished a four-week board and train with Carson at The Dog Knowledge. Worth every penny!…read more Not going to lie - the first couple weeks were rough on us, not him. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.
