Absolutely unacceptable experience at the Apple Genius Bar…read more I came in for help and was told I couldn't be seen without an appointment. Fine -- I made an appointment for 3:30 PM and came back at 3:30 as instructed. When I returned, somehow my appointment had been moved to 3:45 without my agreement. Then I was told I couldn't even check in until 3:35. At 3:35, I was informed that their system had gone down and that there was no guarantee it would be back up anytime soon -- maybe 30 minutes, maybe three hours. The irony is incredible: there were more than 20 Apple "Geniuses" standing around, yet apparently not one of them could find a way to work around or fix their own system problem. This was an enormous waste of time and an astonishing waste of staffing and resources. A company that prides itself on technology should be able to handle a basic appointment and check-in process without leaving customers stranded because one internal system goes down. They do not want these technicians replacing parts helping you; really their job is to basically blame you your software you usage and force you into an upgrade I'm having a massive phone issues that is well documented online after not being checked in by two different staff members, having to ask other staff members to help. I'm running now 40 minutes over with one genius who leaves in the middle of my diagnostic passes me off to yet another person 20 minutes later. so now I'm there over an hour past my appointment time with no resolution and the resolutions this genius gave me we're not even legitimate or possible. You go to Apple they tell you make a genius for appointment you go to the genius bar. They say you have to order a replacement phone through Apple you go to order the replacement phone that says no you have to go to the genius bar. This AppleCare feels like the biggest scam compared to what it used to be. My battery is depleting 20% an hour and Apple support tells me it's my phone case and screen protectors and oh it's because of how I'm using my phone. I've had an iPhone since 2006. I work off my phone daily. This is not a usage problem. My phone is scolding to the touch and cannot charge without overheating and shutting down but yes, we are going to blame software and refuse to replace my phone. My phone went missing while I was commuting and "Fine My Device" marked its location that it was around the bus stop close to the San Diego Zoo. Unfortunately, I couldn't retrieve it. Thankfully, I could afford to get another phone through a family member. They ordered one for me and I just stumbled upon this store because it was nearby. There were no issues with the new Samsung Galaxy, at the time of opening the box/casing. It was new, and it served me mostly well until I decided to move away from San Diego. Thank God there was a way to communicate through this very challenging time period. I was cop-ing, sketch-ing, and test-ing my way through landscapes and lifescapes and cityscapes, for the sake of my mental health. This review has almost nothing to do with this store or with Verizon, sorry... but I remember that the employees (Customer Service, I think) at this store were OK. When we brought it up, AT&T said they couldn't help us. At that point, we were already locked in. It's clear the reps only cared about making a sale and getting their commission, not about honesty or helping customers. Please be careful.
