Great gym! I just moved to ATL and have been looking for a place to start my Muay Thai journey…read more After researching a visiting a few gyms, Bangkok Boxing was the best fit for me. Not to mention it is the top rates premiere gym in the Atlanta area. My first session went great with me learning basic boxing and kicking techniques/ combos. The coach/ owner taught the class personally. While teaching, he made sure to communicate with me personally and train me at a beginner level. I plan to train their 6 days a week, and I am looking forward to the opportunity Bangkok Boxing is giving me to grow. Facilities are state of the art, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. You get plenty value for your dollar with unlimited session Muay Thai, Fitness kickboxing, and boxing. If you do see any lower star reviews they seem to all be personal issues the person had with the gym. Nothing to do with the quality or team working there. Also most lower start reviews are from people not being able to get out of the contract once it is signed. Do net let this deter you from visiting. These are individual financial banking problems that in no way represents Bangkok Boxing and its teaching.

Instead of resolving the issue himself, he had his assistant apologize on his behalf and refused to speak with me in person. It all boiled down to an anti-blackness negative social stigma and I was discriminated against because I am a woman of color. I felt very uncomfortable continuing with a gym membership at either location. Great front desk assistant, terrible owners. The owner needs to comprehend that African-American's are the main ones supporting his gym and I will not take this discrimination lightly, neither should his customers. I have plenty of Asian-American friends, so this is not a bashing moment, this is a festering boil that needs to be popped!

I loved how the workout was setup. We did several rounds of exercises, which included two sets of each exercise for 45 seconds. In between each set, we did a variation of active recovery exercises. It was full body and cardio day which was perfect for me. I hadn't worked out in a while I needed to warm my body up. Jen at the front desk was super sweet. Upon checking in she greeted me , explained how Burn Boot Camp worked and gave me a welcome package. I thought the welcome package was a really nice touch, it came with lavender sea salt and a lavender bath towel. The camp itself was just what I needed. It was high intensity, motivating, and extremely supportive. There's a lot of "good jobs" and high-fives. The instructors will learn your name and push you when they know you have more to give. If you like that type of support you will really enjoy the culture at Burn Boot Camp. I signed up for the 21 day boot camp for $75. The regular monthly rate is $130. With both you have access to unlimited camps . Pro's: Burn offers morning camps 4:45am - 9:30am and evening 4:00pm- 8:00pm. They offer childcare . Instructors are encouraging and motivating . All fitness levels will enjoy the camps. No two classes are the same. Camps offered every hour. Affordable. Con's: None yet So far I'm happy here! I'll check back in at the end of my 21days.

Spoiled by not really having to worry about working out or food for most of my life, time caught up…read morewith me. Literally! After years of the gym, trainers and sporadic spurts of fitness motivation, I tried bootcamp. More specifically, I decided to do the winter camp in December because it was a shorter 3-week version under the idea that even I could survive three weeks of working out. After almost backing out the weekend before it started, I showed up at 5:30am on Monday and told myself if I didn't like it or some random instructor yelled at me, I didn't have to come back, as long as I got through the first day. Well, I didn't like it and couldn't even run an entire mile without walking, but the instructors and other campers encouraged me and made me feel comfortable enough to struggle through the PT test. So I came back the next day, and now 4 months later I just completed another month of boot camp and can't wait for the next one to start! Have I lost weight and gotten stronger? Yes, considerably! But more importantly, boot camp has taught me to focus on pushing myself to do more physically. I no longer focus so much on weight loss, but on getting stronger, faster, eating better and setting new goals for myself. If you're doing that, other results will fall into place and you don't get discouraged by numbers on a scale or BMI percentages. And the unexpected benefit that you won't find running on a treadmill - a wonderful group of people to encourage you and celebrate your progress and push you toward new goals. If I could give it more stars I would - OBC Smyrna has been an absolutely positive experience - 100%+

"There Is No Goal Like A Fitness Goal"…read more This is my life motto after experiencing OBC for the past 2 months. Like a large percentage of 40+ year olds that totally committ themselves to a boot camp lifestyle, I understand that reaching fitness goals don't come as easy as it once did. At 41 and hearing a lot of horror stories of people my age and younger who are having heart attacks, suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, I decided it was time to set some serious fitness goals and committ myself to a totally fit lifestyle. OBC has given me a totally new perspective on reaching weight/fitness goals and has motivated me to reach for the sky. A combinination of committed and motivating fitness instructors and serious campers like myself converge at 5:30 am 4 days a week to motivate each other in fitness and in life. The progress that I have made from not being able to finish my first workout to improved time and reps in every aspect of the PT test are motivating contributors to getting up early in the morning and literally not missing a workout session. I must say that my decision to join OBC was the best decision that I have made in a while and certainly one of the most beneficial. I encourage everyone to make the committment.

I've since moved out of the area, but was back in town scoping neighborhoods for when I return to ATL. I decided to stop at the Blast Buckhead location for old time's sake. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to my memories. The class that I attended was a 5 min block class which I never cared for in the past and didn't care for this time bc there's not enough time to work up a good sweat at each station before transitioning since the clock keeps running during transitions. This location also has zero COVID safety protocols: because of the constant switching, there is no time to wipe off the shared equipment and wipes aren't even provided on the floor. My biggest gripe, though, was the instructor and his music. I enjoy boutique fitness classes and the playlists usually get me pumped for a great workout. This instructor played LOTS of pop and rock and a handful of 80s/90s R&B songs. By the time there were 20 mins left in the class I hadn't heard a single hip hop song so I asked if he would mind playing some. His response? "Umm... we have to play stuff for everybody." I responded "yes I know. I just haven't heard any [hip hop] so that's why I asked." His response rly annoyed me. I am not a fitness class newbie. OBVIOUSLY most instructors play a variety of music for "everybody" but completely excluding one genre of music doesn't seem like you're playing music for "everybody." Am I not a part of that number? Also, I've been to countless studios-- OTF, Solid Core, Barry's-- and the instructors there ALWAYS welcome requests from participants bc we are the ones working out! I don't plan on joining when I move back. Ugh what a bummer.

I arrived a few minutes early for my first class and was warmly greeted by the front desk. She checked me in and gave me a tour of the space. The restrooms and shower area was fully stocked with goodies in case you left something at home. Good to note if you are headed to work after a workout. I dropped my keys into a locker and waited for class to begin. The instructor, Denae, called me into class a little early and showed me the equipment and treadmills and how everything would flow during the workout. These treadmills go up to 30 incline, woah! Cold water bottles and towels are provided too, so amazing! Class began and we warmed up. I was already breaking a sweat and feeling good when the first block began. The class is broken into smaller blocks of floor and cardio work. After the intervals on the treadmill, it was time to swap to the floor. A super intense workout with long and short resistance bands were killer. I needed to change my band for a 'beginner' band, which the instructor noticed and assisted me so I didn't have to move from my station- Thank you! Fast forward 60 minutes and we were finished, cooling down with some stretches and lite ab work. I left feeling awesome, it was a great experience.

This helps a lot so I don't have to have leg day, arm day, etc. - one workout which focused on all exercises. The instructor is also really nice and he explains the workout in the start of the class. It is a small fitness center so you get individual attention especially if you are not doing it right. If I was in Atlanta, I would definitely have made this my regular gym.
