I love taking the adult art class here! I've completed 2 paintings and 3 acrylic pieces with Sher…read moreso far. I've been an oil painter since I was a child. I am 27 years old, I'd say the class ranges from 17-70! There is about 10-ish people in the class. Each person works on their own piece- meaning she is NOT up in the front giving instructions while everyone paints the same dang thing. This is not the type of class. The classes are intimate, and very relaxed. She has everything you need to start your first masterpiece. Really, you don't need to bring a thing! You can choose any medium in the adult class- oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, ceramics, and probably even more. It's is SUCH a great place for a beginner, because you can try all the different mediums until you find one right for you, with no investment in supplies! This is rare. Sher really is a wonderful woman. She is as hands on or hands off as you need. If you need her to sit by you and walk you through every step, she's there. If you want to do you own thing she'll stop by with once or twice with encouragement and her two cents! Most students in the adult class have been going to her for years and doing their own thing, so she's always able to give extra attention to newbies. She is very chatty, it seems like everyone in the class is old friends. She has great stories to tell. I'm a bit quieter while I'm painting, but I do not find the chatter among the class distracting at all. Even though I've painted most my life, i was a bit nervous coming into a new studio- NO NEED! This is the most relaxed, kind group of people I've found. No artsy egos, no judgment, no pressure. Lastly, her children's classes and art camps seem to be super popular. Some of the parents are now in the adult class because they were jealous of how much fun the kids were having. How cool is that!

I took the first of a new type of class and way of painting. The studio lighting was low with candles on the stations next to our easels. The class was a contemporary painting that included new to me techniques and was inspired with a guided meditation. First we traced "Sacred Geometry" or a flower of life on the blank canvas for healing and transformation. Then a base color for grounding and next a guided meditation (my mom came through) then we to painted blind folded. It was a great experience. Timree is a genius and intentional without being stuffy or strict. I'm a long term paint club member it's great value and this class was priceless for me.

It was an hours event on Monday from 1-2pm (and is held every 2 weeks). The first half hour is a sing session with the sensational Christa Mae (www.christamae.com) who sings and plays popular nursery rhymes on her guitar. It looked crowded when we were driving in to the complex. Luckily the parking lot was larger closer to the building that we needed to go to. It was such an awesome surprise walking in. Art makes me happy. I kept running around and taking pictures with everything. I even have a few bathroom selfies. I never like taking photos of just me in it but I couldn't help it. Bugs bunny, pepe le pew, winnie the pooh, and wizard of oz just to name a few of the amazing art work. It's like going back in time and seeing all your favorite cartoons. Great art to check out. Absolutely love this place!
