We've used Matt and 4Points for years to train our staff in WFA. It's been an incredible boost to our program. Matt is professional, experienced, and creative, and his friendly demeanor allows him to connect with all different kinds of learners. While staying true to the curriculum, he is able to tailor the course to stress the situations we are most likely to encounter and design scenarios that are most directly relevant to the specific training we need. I'd used WMI (NOLS) for years before Matt, and his ability to cater to our specific needs has been priceless. In addition, Matt serves as a regular guide for our backpacking trips for 10th grade students. Kids love him and love his energy, and we get an incredibly experienced and skilled outdoorsman. In addition, he has taken over our food menu for our entire class (80 people) -- organizing, cooking, and distributing dehydrated meals that are healthy and tasty. Our students never complain about the food (NOT the case before he helped us out!) Finally, Matt has taught several summer WFR wilderness courses for our students: one in Alaska and one in the Grand Canyon. I was on one of those trips (Grand Canyon), and we got to see the best of Matt in all facets of a trips: outstanding organizer, skilled backpacker, exceptional teacher, and a great presence to have on a trip. My daughter was also on that trip, and her experience with Matt inspired her to pursue a career in nursing and to get her WEMT. I was fortunate enough to lead a group of 11 high school students on a trip down the Hermit Trail to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The experience was AMAZING!! The students and staff that attended had a life changing experience and left not only W.F.R. Certified, but better people. The hike was a challenge no doubt, but the Four Points experience meant that we were well prepared for all aspects of the back country. I was amazed at how well prepared Matt was for this back county expedition especially with the food. YUMMY!!
