Recently had my 2 year anniversary and was thinking about our wedding. So, I decided to catch up on wedding reviews. Although it's been 2 years since the wedding, it's funny how brides can remember pretty much everything and which vendor was awesome and which was not. I still remember very clearly that 4 Eyes was the only vendor that we had any problems with. A few of the things that happened really annoyed us. 1) Kellie and Rupert were 15 minutes late. This is awful because we had to rush through all the pre-wedding photos. And it stressed me out - A LOT. They charge $600/hour. They must have had 10 missed calls from me. Their reason was that they were stuck in traffic and forgot their phone. That's not really an excuse, because my videographer and make up artist got to the hotel one hour early! As a wedding professional how they can just aim to be on time and not early. And the added stress is not a great way to start a wedding day. 2) Although minor, it was still annoying that they brought an assistant without telling us ahead of time, so I had to arrange for an extra vendor meal at the last minute. I had a lot more pressing things to attend to on my wedding day without them throwing me a surprise like this. 3) The main reason why I would never recommend them is that our photos that we waited over 2 months for were flawed - with SPOTS all over many of the photos. Some spots on our faces like we have a bad case of moles. A lot of the spots are in the same areas on the photos, so we suspected that one of the cameras was dirty. Are they serious? How can they send us photos like these - did they even bother checking the photos? I wrote them an email explaining my disappointment and Kellie wrote back telling me that she will put all the pictures back into post-production. We waited another 6 weeks for the new DVD. Although, they cleaned up most of the obvious spots, there were still many spots on the pictures. This puts them straight into amateur territory. I thought I hired professional photographers. Comparing them to all my other vendors, they are definitely at the bottom of the list, because all of my other vendors either went above and beyond to make my day wonderful or at least met expectations. They were the only ones that caused me any problems. And I haven't recommended them to my engaged friends. When we took our 1 year anniversary photos, we also didn't contact them, but instead hired a different photographer for about half the price and she was absolutely brilliant and photos came out beautiful and amazing - with no spots to say the least. I would have to say that 4 Eyes didn't meet our expectations and is the only vendor we wish we didn't hire. read more

Rupert and Kellie did such an incredible job with our wedding photography!! We really could not be happier. They were both so warm, friendly, and relaxed, which really helped us to feel relaxed in front of the camera. I had a really fun time hanging out with them before the ceremony (when I was extremely nervous!) - Kellie has a great sense of humor and really made me laugh. The photos themselves are gorgeous. There are 1650 of them and I have absolutely no idea how we're going to pick which ones to frame and put in the album. Our photography was one of the things I wanted to be 150% sure about because it was so important to me to beautifully immortalize our day - and 4Eyes did it perfectly. We also found 4Eyes to be very reasonably priced for a NYC photographer. They were also great about working out a budget that we were comfortable with. As the wedding approached, we had been too busy to have our engagement shoot, so Rupert and Kellie agreed to apply the extra time to our actual wedding day and shoot the extra session after the wedding. We're really looking forward to seeing them again and to getting more beautiful pictures! read more

We couldn't have been happier with 4Eyes Photography shooting our wedding weekend! I was in awe when my best friend received her wedding photos back from Kellie and Rupert. When it was my turn to be a bride, I knew I wanted them to shoot our wedding. They are a great team and were extremely helpful leading up to the wedding!! From our first meeting in their studio, Kellie and Rupert explained how they each capture special moments from their own perspectives while working as a team. We had a blast with them for an engagement shoot, our welcome party and on our wedding day. The weekend was filled with a lot of detail and Kellie and Rupert captured everything we were after and more! Rupert and Kellie have a rare talent as wedding photographers. I have to say that our expectations were exceeded by the service we received at our July 2012 wedding in NYC. First, they have very relaxed personalities that kept me, my husband, and all our families and friends at ease the entire day. One of the best qualities you can find in a photographer! Secondly, their different backgrounds complement each other so so well. Kellie as a fashion photographer can make you look amazing from any angle, while Rupert the photojournalist was a total ninja the whole day. There are photos that I know Rupert took but I can't remember seeing him at all for hours! He captures so many phenomenal candid shots with that stealth! Complete blended in with our guests. What really put our 4Eyes experience over the top though is that they captured our personality in our photos. Just look at their website and you will see that every wedding looks different and reflects the personality of the couple and wedding. That is their real talent. A real joy to work with! Creative and fun. We would recommend Kellie and Rupert for any and all life events (not just weddings) and can't wait to use them again in the future! read more

I had the pleasure to meet Kellie and Rupert from 4eyes Photography at a celebrity wedding held at The One & Only Club in the Bahamas. They were immediately warm & friendly and very approachable. After seeing the photos I was blown away. Not only were they creatively so in tune but their attention to detail and unique approach to photo capture came through impressively in the final work. The pictures are stunning. One of the many recollections I have of the event was how impressed I was by the unrelenting commitment and passion for their craft. Despite shooting for 12 straight hours they never missed a beat and were equally committed at the end of the night as they were at the start ! (which I can attest is uncommon for many of the photographers I've seen !) I have since worked with them on a number of different projects for my family & business and they are my "go to" shooters in NYC. The experience my husband and I had with 4Eyes Photography for our wedding photographs could not have been better. Kellie and Rupert were warm and welcoming from the moment we met them. We immediately felt comfortable with having them as a part of our special day. They really listened to our vision for our day and the style of photography we were looking for. Their work speaks for itself - we could not have been happier with the way each and every photo came out, as well as with the album. Kellie and Rupert were on time, professional, and extremely unobtrusive throughout the entire day. They were able to capture emotional and meaningful moments at every step - from getting ready at the hotel to the ceremony and throughout the reception - in an artistic and beautiful way. Several of our guests commented about how lovely they were throughout the evening- they never got in the way of our guest's experience, but were able to capture all of the key moments and shots we wanted. We are so grateful we chose 4Eyes Photography as our wedding photographers. Every time we look at our photos, the magic and feeling of that day comes flooding back, which is more than we could have hoped for. If it were possible, I'd give them less than zero stars. Don't believe their advertising, they have no talent for wedding photography, negligible technical skills, don't care what you want -- they only care about the $ -- and moreover, for a married couple they work terribly together. She's hysterical, he's miserable and they're both utterly unprofessional. On our wedding day, they looked unwashed, unkempt and communicated dismally with each other. It was evident at the time there were problems between them that might effect our wedding photos, but it was too late and we didn't want to make their misery our focus on our special day. To begin, the photos of our wedding were incredibly cheesy. They used cheap tricks even though we asked for 'documentary with an eye for the perfect moment' (e.g., Cartier-Bresson). We figured by the way they advertised their work (documentary + fashion) that they would know who Cartier-Bresson was but it's apparent by the product we received they have no clue. They were also technically inept: the photos we received as 'final' -- after paying a steep price -- were blurry, too dark, poorly framed. The specific shots we requested were glaringly absent. There wasn't even a shot of 'the kiss'; between the two of them they only got the moment right after. And yet, even the most amateur shutterbugs amongst our guests -- with their drugstore disposable cameras -- managed to capture it. They disappeared during key moments, like our receiving line and the rice toss after the ceremony. We later saw them talking to people as if they were guests in the background of photos taken by some of our actual guests. Not only did they miss key shots, they were on the clock and slacking off instead of working. When we confronted them with this information, they aggressively denied it in spite of the photo evidence. They're that dishonest. In addition to the photos they missed at the ceremony, they failed to capture us entering the reception -- which we had specifically asked them to do, as well as exiting the car our friend had lovingly decorated, which we had also asked them to do. The photos we have of the reception are blurry images of place settings at empty tables (taken while our guests were elsewhere for the cocktail hour, which they also didn't capture) and fisheye photos of the room when it was occupied which are too gimmicky and distorted to be taken seriously. They didn't go around the room when our 120+ guests were seated at their tables, they were again nowhere to be found. They left the reception earlier than agreed to, certainly before getting full coverage as specified in their contract, and then later claimed that we had 'given them permission to leave.' They lied when we asked them where they were during moments we had specifically asked them to capture. Their lack of professionalism was noticed, and commented on, by a number of our guests. We hired them because they were highly recommended by the venue we held our wedding in. The venue was great, but in retrospect, I wouldn't recommend them without reservation based on their unseemly alliances. Their 'proofs' (which were delivered much later than specified in the contract) were posted to the website Pictage which continues to spam us with 'special offers' for these terrible photos we already overpaid for. When we complained -- because we had agreed to the images being delivered on a hard drive -- they provided us with 'final proofs' which amounted to a couple of amateurish discs with the aforementioned lens flares, unusable blurry or too dark images, and defects poorly masked by cheap effects. We had specifically requested no discs, which finally confirmed the contract was a joke as far as what we had agreed to being honored. When we complained to Kelly and Rupert they told us 'the venue was too difficult'... it was 'too crowded' and 'too dark.' What a sick joke. We paid for edited professional photos and we got snapshots that would have been deleted, if captured at all, by any respectable photographer. Meanwhile, my husband and I have no professional photos of our wedding and when we followed up on our complaint (after consulting with a number of professional photographers and retouchers to make sure (a) we were not overreacting, (b) to inquire into whether the images were remotely salvageable) we were shrieked at by Kelly, mumbled to by Rupert, and they offered nothing in terms of an apology or recompense -- they just added their misery to the disappointment of having no wedding photos. What kind of sane person yells hysterically at a client? What kind of professional makes such lame excuses for their poor work? This is ultimately what they offered us: they would 'fix' the (unfixable) photos AT AN ADDITIONAL FEE. Well, that was just too delusional of a suggestion. I strongly warn against using them unless you really don't want wedding photos or don't mind wasting @ $5,000. read more

My husband and I used Kellie and Rupert for an anniversary shoot. I had been admiring the work of 4Eyes Photography for a while, and loved how every photo they took seemed like it came out of the pages of a fashion magazine. So, when our anniversary came, I wanted to treat ourselves. I had never been more excited for a photo shoot and was even more excited once I met Rupert and Kellie. They are top notch, extremely professional, and REALLY FUN to be around. They know exactly how to pose you, so that you don't look stiff, but rather really natural. Their photos have a fluidity to them that I haven't seen with many other photographers. Most of all, they make you feel relaxed and comfortable. When we got our photos back, I was ELATED! Not to sound arrogant, but both my husband and I never thought we could look that good. We are, to say the least, not photogenic at all, and prefer to be behind the camera, but I couldn't stop staring at the photos. Rupert and Kellie travelled to us, and Kellie familiarized herself with the location in a matter of seconds. She scoped out the light, the architecture, and the natural surroundings in a way in which it was almost like she visited those locations every day. They are the best and I will recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. read more
