Termites started our troubles & Shades of Nature fixed it all…read more We bought our home in 2000 and our beautiful olive tree lived in this neighborhood for 60 years. Over the years this tree was the back drop for many family moments ie.prom, and Easters, and its even still on Google maps picture of our address. (They haven't updated it obviously.LOL). Until termites and squirrels attack it causing a slow death. After the tree was cut & the stump ground out. This removal left a huge hole. The new "hopeful" design my husband and I talked about included fencing off the newly landscaped yard. We shopped online and visited the big hardware companies to no avail. Then we wanted to keep the business local and called LA Fence Company. The sales staff at the showroom in Duarte were very knowlegeable and encouraging. From start to finish, Mike S. and staff were accountable, timely, and completely professional. All of his workers treated our property with respect and care and attention to detail. The new fence install took 2 weeks as promised. And the finished outcome is simply outstanding. We live int he middle of the block our home is a standout from the work done. The fence adds a sharp modern & clean curb-appeal to our home that is both modern and handicap accessible for our elderly mother who has a walker. I am still in awe with what they have done to improve our LIVES and HOME. Please trust & give this company your business. Enjoy the pictures of this summer's yard transformation and now Fall decorations. I have depended a lot on reviews/pics from yelpers so I need to post when a business was good or…read morebad. Or kinda good or kinda bad. The fences are nice and look like the pics on the reviews. The issue in my case is installation and customer service. They broke one of my recently installed pavers (never told me). The metal portion of 1 of 3 gates had a lot of visible deep scratches, and they left an outlet box just dangling instead of properly installing it. I also noticed they didn't install stoppers behind each door. Didn't know I had to ask for that or that they didn't provide them. Imagine spending thousands on 3 beautiful doors just so when they open, they smack on stucco or walls? I made a deal with Mark (he comes out to give you an estimate) it cost me $100 to have my paver guy fix the damage. Add 3 stoppers to the gates and I'll call it even. He said ok. They came out and installed one. Mark has been bs'ing me for months and they haven't came out to add the remaining two. I've called the main office and no luck. I know if I would've waited on paying they would've been done a long time ago. And to be fair they did come out and covered up the deep scratches a bit. You can still see them but not as noticeable. The electric box was also installed properly. Make sure you look at your doors and gates closely before you pay because trying to get them to come out can be difficult and Mark might tell you it will be handled and never will. Their prices are fair and competitive but their installation and customer service could use some work and maybe other estimates on your behalf. See pictures. Oh and I sent them a lock to install prior to them coming out to install. I should've checked that too before they left. The electronic door lock doesn't work. I've tried taking it apart and figuring it out but does not work. My fault I guess for not checking.

After interviewing many fence contractors, I finally chose Villa Fencing for my project and I am…read moreextremely happy that I did. Joe Villa and his crew did an outstanding job on my project, even though they were faced with some obstacles on my neighbor's side of the fence. They handled those issues very quickly and professionally. When the job was completed and the other two crew members went home, Joe stayed for at least another hour doing a repair for me on another fence. There were issues there also, but Joe did a wonderful job. I will certainly recommend Villa Fencing to my friends and family.

I first called on a Friday, and Joe and his crew were out the following Monday to begin the project. This was a huge job--more than 600 feet of fencing--and they completed everything by Thursday. I was very impressed with how efficiently they worked while still paying attention to detail. Even the city building inspector commented that they did a great job! Joe and his crew were friendly, professional, and easy to work with. There was never any sense of rushing the job--they took the time to do it right. Their pricing was also very reasonable for the amount of work completed. I highly recommend Villa Fencing if you're looking for quality work and a professional team.

Adam from Superior Fence and Rail was very helpful when I am looking for a new fence for my rental…read moreproperty. He was very honest, telling me the pros and cons of Wood, vinyl, and Trex Composite. Their pricing is competitive. The arts of comparing quotes is not just to compare the price. You must find out how they install the fence. Adam explained to me that they don't use a regular pole for wood fencing, but rather they use a way stronger "post master" pole? I forgot the correct name. It is a little more expensive, but you get a way stronger fence. Adam was also extremely patient with me explaining to me different styles and colors making sure that I get all my answers. He even responded to me after hours to make sure I get a timely response. Even though I am the first one reviewing . Superior, Fence And Rail is a large company. That makes me feel more comfortable. Lastly, they offer financing options which you can just pay a few hundred dollars a month. Many companies don't offer that. So if you're thinking about putting up a wood fencing, vinyl, fencing, or composite fencing, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Adam.

9/16 RESPONSE TO RAUL'S MESSAGE: The photos I posted are as…read morerecent as my review. Calling them "old" doesn't change the fact that the fence still looks like that. What's actually old is your year-long list of excuses for why you never came back to fix your own work. And really--racist? I've been nothing but patient while you strung me along for months. It's honestly appalling you'd even throw that word around when you know it isn't true. Let's also clear up this "whole team" you keep mentioning. Do you mean your dad? Because that's who showed up. I didn't even speak with him since I don't speak Spanish--which is why my Hispanic husband handled communication those two times he came out. So where you're getting "racist" from is beyond me, but it says more about you than it does me. Also, let's drop this "you just want free work" nonsense. I paid you--every single penny. On time. I even gave you a $1,000 advance before you finished when you asked. I have all the text receipts to prove it, so maybe double-check your memory before accusing me of not paying. And dragging your kid into this? That's just bizarre. I remember the one day he was here--sitting in your car on a hot day. I was the one who offered that he could come into the backyard or swim so he wouldn't overheat sitting in your car. If you're twisting that into me being "upset," then I don't know what to tell you. The only thing I've been upset about is your lousy workmanship and the fact that you refuse to stand behind it. Oh, and since you keep boasting about your "$7 wood"--both licensed fencing contractors I had out to assess the mess told me the same thing: that wood for fencing needs to be purchased in advance and allowed to set, because temperature and moisture cause it to shift. The fact that you just grabbed the wood that same day from Home Depot and installed it immediately explains exactly why it started warping. And no, it didn't cost you $7 a piece--let's not exaggerate when receipts exist. At the end of the day, I don't want free work. I wanted the work I paid for done correctly. You didn't deliver, and now instead of owning it, you're lobbing excuses, lies, and made-up drama. Unfortunately for you, the fence--and the texts--speak louder than your story does. If you spent half as much energy fixing fences as you do making excuses, we wouldn't even be here. ----- ORIGINAL REVIEW Do not hire Raul Hernandez (Ranchero Fencing / Golden Era Fencing / High Desert Affordable Fencing). I hired Raul Hernandez in May 2024 to build a modern fence. The project was completed in June, but only after multiple delays from him not showing up when he said he would. Within three months--by September 3, 2024--the fence was already showing serious issues. That started a year-long nightmare of back-and-forth with Raul. He made endless promises to fix his work, but rarely followed through. Over the course of an entire year: -His father came out twice (for only a few hours each time), but even admitted the job needed to be removed and redone. -Raul only came out once, after I pushed him repeatedly. -Because the fence was built with tongue-and-groove wood, it can't be "patched." The only fix is to remove and rebuild it. Instead of taking responsibility, Raul kept trying to shift the blame to his father--even though his dad only set the metal posts at the start, and Raul himself did all the woodwork. Every step of the way, it was excuses, no-shows, and broken promises. Finally, after a FULL YEAR of nothing, I asked for a refund. I obtained two professional quotes from reputable fencing companies, both over $6,000 to fix Raul's work (reusing the same metal posts). At first Raul agreed to a refund, until he realized how much it would cost him. Then he backtracked, claimed he would "work his magic," and when I declined, he started threatening court. He even bragged that he does liens and isn't afraid of legal action. We even tried to be reasonable by offering him a compromise of $4,000 (still leaving us $2,000+ out of pocket). He refused. At this point, we are taking Raul to court and filing a complaint with the CSLB for all three of his companies. To be honest, I imagine the repair work would not have been so substantial had Raul addressed the issues when I reached out to him a year ago. At this point, I have no patience left for him so any of his promises to "work his magic" is gone. Bottom line: Raul Hernandez is unprofessional, dishonest, and unreliable. His work fell apart within months, he wasted a full year of our time, and he refuses to stand by his word. Save yourself the stress and money--hire someone else.

Poor Holyfield has been to the emergency vet more than any dog should, and the humans are at their wit's end with Tyson. So what to do? I know! Prison cell and Prison gates! And we need them stat! Of course, I then turn to Yelp for help. I find 3 local fence company's and use the "Request a Quote" option through Yelp to send messages for quotes. How many answer? One and only One--Fence Craft of Upland. The response came back fairly quick, within 24 hours. We made arrangements for a visit/quote on a Saturday morning between 9 and 11. Pat shows up promptly at 9 a.m., looks at our yard, and all the things we have in mind, takes the measurements and says our written quote will be e-mailed within a few days. We received it by Monday morning. At first, we had sticker shock, but doing more research, that tends to be the price range, and Fence Craft is fully licensed/bonded, and local--that was an important factor for us. Didn't want a company no showing or cutting corners because they had to drive to/from LA or the OC. So we signed the contract. We had a total of 4 vinyl gates, a chain link kennel, and a 6 ft chain link across a portion of the backyard. They ordered the materials (primarily the vinyl gates), and by the following week they were back out putting up the chain link portion and the posts for the vinyl gates. They returned the following week with the vinyl gates. Oscar and his crew were very courteous and worked efficiently AND cleaned up. I hate when contractors leave a huge mess. None of that here. It's been about a month now and all the gates are still standing. Of course they are! We are very pleased with the job. The vinyl gates look really nice, and the chain link prison gates have solved the unauthorized backyard heavy weight championship matches from occurring. Tyson and Holyfield are now enjoying their retirement.
