We stayed in two of the large "tents" and one of the smaller cabins. It has a wonderful rustic flair to make you really feel like you've gotten out of the big city, but still comfortable enough with the temperature controlled setting and the wonderful mattresses to make sure you're well rested. They have a variety of things in a large plot of land, including a river you can swim in, various trails to take your golf carts around so you can see a variety of wildlife, including deer and armadillos, a very nice pool and hot tub with a full bar right next to it, and other small things, including a cornhole set and a Pickleball court. What I think blew me away, though was the incredible hospitality of those who worked there, they were genuine interested in making sure that we were as comfortable and happy as possible, and the very delicious breakfast that they made for the house, the pond request. Whether you're with the family, having a romantic getaway, or just simply wanting to enjoy the beauty of the Hill country, I cannot recommend this location enough.

Celebrated my girlfriend's birthday with a spa day at the Hyatt Lost Pines Spa. We purchased the…read morespa pass with a treatment option from ResortPass well in advance. We were able to choose from organic massage or an organic facial for our treatment, and both opted for facials. The good: - Stunning property - serene, peaceful, and beautiful. - Spa offers several wonderful amenities (sauna, steam room, hot tub, pools, showers, and more). We thoroughly enjoyed each of these features and spent 3-4 hours total just relaxing and enjoying our time. - I appreciated that they had interesting and unique touches such as the adult coloring books in the relaxation lounge. What could've been better: - The facial service was very basic and frankly mediocre. For the amount we paid, I expected more of a facial massage and extraction. This was disappointing. - We were to receive a complimentary glass of wine each with our booking. No one offered this to us; I had to hunt down a staff member and request it. - For a five star spa, they should offer more than one hair dryer for all guests to use, and better beverage options in the relaxation room. We had one tea choice, that was it. Good experience but with some improvements could be great.

From the beginning, the team was very responsive to questions and open to feedback, which made the planning process feel much easier. On the wedding day, everything ran smoothly, and they helped create a fun, seamless atmosphere so we could actually enjoy the day. One of the highlights for us was being able to use a more unconventional ceremony site on the property; they were very accommodating and made it come together exactly how we envisioned. Our guests also had a great time with the amenities, cocktail hour space, and reception space. The food was fantastic, and the bar service was equally impressive. We also appreciated that we could customize our experience without feeling overwhelmed by too many decisions. We also loved the staff of the hotel. They were so helpful, even with small things like moving our wedding decor around. The amenities are really awesome too, our guests loved it and want to come back in the future. There is truly something for any type of person here. It is on the pricier side, but for us, it was absolutely worth it. We would definitely recommend this venue.

Paranormal Activity Cut Our Visit Short!…read more We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend at Belle Oaks and were drawn in by the charming photos and description. But from the moment we arrived, it was clear that--while still beautiful--the inn was showing signs of wear, a faded echo of its restored glory from 20 years ago. What we liked: The property retains a nostalgic charm, with antiques adorning every corner. The hosts greeted us warmly and shared a bit of the inn's history. To their credit, they did warn us that the older electrical circuits might cause occasional flickering lights. What we didn't expect: Lights turning on and off by themselves. The television powering on in the middle of the night. Bed sheets being pulled off us while we slept. Feeling as if I was being touched and it wasn't my husband. The paranormal energy was far more intense than we'd anticipated--and ultimately, we decided to cut our trip short. Other concerns: The pool was dirty, and while breakfast was tasty, it was surprisingly sparse. As someone who's stayed in many bed and breakfasts, this was the first time I've encountered a buffet-style setup with no table settings, no water service, and a limited selection. We left both hungry and unnerved. Speaking with locals we learned that stories abound about hauntings in Gonzales.

This caused my booking to be cancelled and I had to rebook and reverify. VERY inconvenient but everything got worked out. When you pay $900+ per night you don't want to be inconvenienced while trying to book. The Reserve is a nice community, but like all managed "premier planned" suburban areas they are very Nazi-ish with rules and enforcement. Again, when you're paying over $900 per night it's very off-putting and insulting to constantly be reminded of the rules. They treat you like you're a college kid trying to sneak and throw a frat party while you're parents are away for the weekend. Our rental even had cameras on the house that were actively being monitored (details below). VALUE: I don't normally complain about price so I won't do it here. Let's just say that this place is expensive. I voluntarily paid the money but it's a high price. HOUSE: Nice place, very clean. Premium decor - Texas modern rustic. Complimentary prosecco in the fridge upon arrival was a nice touch. Bring your own food/drinks/condiments (salt, pepper, etc.)/ice. All utensils for just about any kind of cooking and everything needed to have nice dinner parties were there. We had an issue with POOL: I did a cabana rental for 2 days at $50 per day. Rentals include a complimentary pitcher of beer or margarita per day. Pool was nice and in good shape. Lazy river, kids pool and infinity pool as well as swim up bar and snack bar are all part of the pool. You aren't allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages, food, or coolers into the pool area. They did allow us to bring an individual cup or water bottle. They will search your bags for food/alchohol/etc. if you bring large bags. LOCATION: Be prepared to drive 40 minutes to anywhere. There's enough restaurants, entertainment, etc. 45 minutes away. All-in-all this was a good place to stay. The main reason this is not a 5-Star review is because I was contacted by TurnKey with a threatening call because the management/owner were watching us on the Arlo/Netgear camera (Nazi-ish) on the back patio (there's a camera on the front porch and back patio) and thought that one of my guests was on the back patio smoking. None of us are smokers and it was insulting for them to accuse us of smoking (I'll say it again for emphasis... when you're paying over $900 per night).

My cousin and his family have a membership here and they invited us to come out for the day. When you are driving out there it feels like it is kind of in the middle of nowhere and then all of a sudden this paradise appears. We spent time at the marina. This was the nicest marina I have seen in the Austin area for sure! I could tell everything is taken care of with the utmost care possible. The marina is treated somehow as well so that the cobwebs and spiders don't take over your boat and slip area, which is super nice and convenient. There is also room for outdoor kitchens and patio furniture at the front of each slip. People have grills and stuff out there too. I gathered that it is a thing to just hang out at your slip area and cook out with your friends and family and you may or may not even take the boat out. After we took the boat out and came back in we road the golf cart up to the lazy river. This is where it really started to feel like a resort for me. They have a decent sized lazy river that is so much fun! There is a swim up bar on one side and the bar opens to the deck area on the other side. There are plenty of tables to sit at and chase lounge chairs in the sun and shaded for total comfort and relaxing. I had a few perfectly made margaritas from the bar and had a wonderful time hanging out with my family and floating the lazy river! The Reserve property is actually pretty huge! They also have cabins you can rent out, tennis courts and a park area. There is lots of places to hike around as well. This would be the perfect family get away spot and it is not too far from other cool outdoor things like Krause Springs, Hamilton Pool Park and of course Lake Travis!

There was noise in the middle of the night due to construction -- you could clearly hear people working. In my room, hot water was only available between 12 AM and 6 AM. There was also a huge event happening, with extremely long lines at the bell center and only one person assisting guests. At one point, another guest even stepped in to help because the young man assisting everyone had to leave briefly to get more paper forms. When I asked the registration counter if additional help could be provided, I was told the event staff were contracted and "not theirs." Still, better communication and coordination ahead of time could have made a big difference. That said, kudos to the event team members working the front lines -- they were absolutely amazing despite the situation.

This year's water level is historically low (since the 1960s), so direct swimming access to the water is nearly impossible. Boat ramp closed. However, the view is still spectacular. We also appreciate the grill spots -- we saw previous complaints about the grills -- honestly, we don't quite understand why they are being so picky with the public grill spots lol... I can tell they have tried their best to manage/clean. A/C works well, especially at night! Not much noise created. All the fire pits were upgraded and well-maintained. Some things to be careful with: 1/ Some weeds in the grass can be sticky and painful to pick off. Be careful walking in grass near the cabins (wear water shoes). 2/ Some dogs may be reactive to people/other dogs (barking). But everyone was very respectful. 3/ Didn't try the swimming pool; it looks a little muddy. 4/ Coffee station not working well. We noticed from others' reviews and brought our own coffee boiling pot with pour makers. They also didn't provide milk/coffee mate. 5/ Pillows are not quite comfortable.

And just like last time, it was a great stay. I'm not sure if I noticed their amenities last time or if they added on facilities in the last decade, but a few things to know: o There is a giant, we're talking massive swimming pool that's 3"5 deep all the way around. As a shawty, I appreciate that. There's plenty of seating, pergolas for much-needed shade. No restrooms at the pool. o Volleyball court o A main lodge area/event space, perfect for family reunions and such. o There's a "motel" also onsite. o It's dog-friendly, with a max of two dogs per cabin and a $25 deposit per pet per night. o Amazing sunsets, direct lake access for swimming or boating, grilling areas, and "The Point" which is a great spot for a nightcap and handing with friends/family. As for the cabins, once again our group reserved five of their six cabins that each come equipped with two decks overlooking Canyon Lake, a hot tub, multiple bedrooms, living spaces, fireplaces, full kitchens.... Note that some cabins may have a studio-style room with no wall. Our AC was kickin' and there was plenty of hot and cold water. Only gripe is the living room seating in our cabin, Cabin F. The chairs stunk like BO. My guess is that guest sit on them with wet river clothes... hope they steam them.

When we were first sat, it was next to a bush that had so many bees. We asked a server to move but she stated all daybeds were taken (despite some being empty through our stay). We asked a second server our request again because we were unable to even sit on the daybed without bees swarming on us. This second server was able to move us with no issues. Upon arrival there were no towels, we had to ask multiple times before we received any. The food was served quickly thankfully and was pretty good- as well as our drinks. We ordered a pina colada and gin based drink. Both were good but it was way too hot to drink how we wanted. The turkey sandwich, guacamole and chips, and chicken tenders were also good and pretty standard. There was a separate adult pool on the lower deck that was a lot quieter than the general pool (and no kids) with better music. We know for next time to just order chairs here. Ending the night, it took at least 25 minutes for our final receipt to be given. I had to approach the bar area twice to ask what was going on. There seemed to be confusion on our pool tab and how to close our Resort Pass. Spending over $300, the experience could've been a lot better with quicker service. It was also hard to follow who was our server as we were greeted by 4-5 people through our time. I would consider coming here on a calmer day out of season if looking for a more relaxing experience. Plus to seeing the fireworks while leaving. The pools were a lot more enjoyable once the sun began to set which was around 7 (our stay was from 4-9).

I have never stayed in a room so nice (and huge) in my life! It has its own parking lot, its own smaller pool, and all the rooms come with a glass of champagne on arrival and a golf cart to get around the resort property. That was the funnest part imo. You can still go swim at the main resort or use the facilities of course. The room itself as mentioned is massive; it has a living room with a TV, huge bed with a TV in that other room, a small kitchen, two part bathroom with a shower and tub in one separate area, and two patios outside. There is a little sitting area/courtyard in the front too which I just know would be lovely at night to sit and have a beer and look at the stars. The staff were attentive and helpful, and I can see how hard they work to keep their spaces clean and organized for guests. Personally I also just find the topaz pool (adult-only infinity pool) that overlooks the hill country to be a little happy place of mine. The vibes are A1. Overall: I've been coming here once per summer for a conference, and I hope it can be an annual thing since I just really like this resort and want to try some other San Antonio restaurants, including signature which is Michelin recommended and on this resort's property!
