The owner and staff are super friendly and accommodating... I just love them all to pieces. 319 itself is a large open room fitted with a projector screen, a dance floor, huge windows, and loads of way to modify the set up. There is also an outdoor patio with a bar that can be opened. They also have two other smaller buildings facing S. Campbell, both of which would be perfect for a smaller catered dinner or small reception. (The room with a fireplace is super adorable) Speaking of the food... we were lucky enough to have had them cater the fundraiser we held for the serious and OH MY GOODNESS THE SPINACH DIP! Everything I tried was fantastic from the Onion Souffle to the Mango Salsa. But seriously, that spin dip. (drool) If you are in the market for a wedding, event, good time venue - go here. I could have never put this all together without his help and guidance. Everything was so easy, no stress, come by anytime to talk, measure, figure out what is needed. The food and drinks and service were amazing. I knew when I met Angelo the first time that this would be exactly what it wanted to be and it turned out even better. My parents had the time of their life celebrating 50 years of marriage with friends, family, a great band, superb staff and facilities. Do you next event here!

Her very first words were, "Why are you here?" -- no greeting, no courtesy, just instant hostility. We were only there to take a quick photo of the outside and look at the grounds, as we were considering renting the venue for a wedding. We're from out of town and were in the area just for the weekend, but she immediately accused us of trespassing instead of simply asking what we needed. To make things worse, she blocked the driveway so we couldn't turn around properly, forcing us to back through the grass rather than letting us move forward a couple of feet to the wider part of the drive. I'm also quite sure her behavior was influenced by my alternative haircut and color, which made the experience feel even more judgmental and discriminatory. We will never come back here or recommend this place to anyone.

The tour guide did his best, but his script was rather mediocre. His presentation was repetitive and I had a hard time hearing him over the sounds of the air conditioning. You were not allowed to take photographs unless you requested permission prior to taking each one you wanted. The tour opened with a short video which could have been interesting except the narrator was unintelligible. I was able to decipher about 10 words during the 6 minute film. There are a lot of stairs on the tour (no elevator) so this would not be a good tour for anyone with mobility issues.

I'm so glad I did. The moment I stepped into the stylish, contemporary lobby, I felt like I'd walked into a boutique hotel in SoHo. The design is chic, modern, and full of personality. I arrived early and was pleasantly surprised to get access to my room right away -- a spacious, beautifully appointed room on the fourth floor of the hotel's main building. (Tip: there's a second building across the alley in back, so if location matters to you, be sure to ask which one you're in.) My room was terrific -- upscale furnishings, high ceilings, and a bed so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me. Great mattress, perfect pillows -- everything you hope for in a good night's sleep. As luck would have it, the hotel was celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a lobby reception just as I was heading out to a meeting. The place had a celebratory buzz. When I returned, I made a beeline to Vantage, the rooftop bar, for an Old Fashioned. They were out of Angel's Envy (my go-to), but the bartender made a solid one with Woodford Reserve. A quick evening shower made the rooftop a bit humid, so I headed downstairs to The Order, the hotel's lobby bar -- equally impressive, with a standout liquor selection and, yes, Angel's Envy in stock. Round two. The next morning, I hit their fitness room in the back building, followed by a run through downtown. Afterward, I grabbed a surprisingly good $10 breakfast burrito from the on-site café. My only real quibble: no complimentary coffee in the lobby. For a boutique hotel of this caliber, it's a small thing that would make a big difference. Overall, Hotel Vandivort delivered style, comfort, and a memorable experience. If you're heading to Springfield and want something with personality and polish -- stay here. Highly recommended.

But we were hungry, and the restaurant and store looked beautiful, so we decided to give it a try. My wife ordered the salmon dip, and I went with the Caesar salad with the salmon add-on. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, and attentive. When the food arrived, her salmon dip came with large, thin, house-made crackers--and both the dip and the crackers were delicious. My salmon Caesar salad was excellent, and after finishing every bite of mine, I ended up helping my wife by wiping her dip bowl clean! Beautiful setting, excellent food, and a timely, attentive waitress... I think some of the other reviewers must have visited on an off day. I would absolutely return to The Ozark Mill.

My wife, son visiting from CO and I went in for lunch to explore the store and the restaurant. The lower level was not open for us to check out be we noticed they do have tours which we'll have to check out on a future visit. We waited a little to be seated but were greeted by a very friendly hostess, who seated us where we had a great view of the Finley River. The decor was authentically rustic no doubt chocked full of history that we would have enjoyed learning. Our server Joy brought menus including a seasonal lunch and "Express" menus. LOTS of intriguing starters, entrees and desserts. We started with salmon dip, which was very tasty. We then ordered our entrees which consisted of the fried catfish, Smash burger and fried chicken sandwich (with the hot rub.) All were outstanding! I love lots of spice and have to say I don't think my request for "extra hot " got to the chef. Anyway the spicy chicken sandwich was flavorful. Overall we had a great first experience. Joy was a friendly and helpful server but she may have been spread a little thin. The Ozark Mill is definitely a repeater for us!
