We were visiting a cousin in Binghamton while in-route to a meditation retreat in Quebec. I had phoned a day ahead from Bristol VA. A friendly man named Jim, said he would put my name on a Field and Stream 4 person Wilderness Lodge (tent) and hold it until we arrived. It was on sale from $160, regular price, to $120. I found the store and the people to be fabulous. The thinnish aisles filled with stuff would be any sportsman's dream. We went on to the retreat and set up our "Taj Mahal" as a fellow camper called it and slept quite dryly even during a rain. The tent included a 4x9' vestibule which was an outer flap which allowed us actually keep our suitcases outside the regular sleeping area. I extended a tarp from underneath the tent out the additional 4 ft for a nice vestibule floor where we removed our shoes before entering. Inside, 7' x 9' , we had plenty of room for two twin air mattress with sleeping bags. If I lived anywhere near the original Dicks in Binghamton, I would for sure be a frequent customer.

The manager here (Nicole) is especially friendly and helpful, and fast. She is the reason I'm giving four stars instead of three. The store is clean, and the staff are eager to help without being pushy - great leadership here. :)

I now live far away from Hank's but I try to either stop in the store every couple years or order them off the phone.. I have been going to Hank's since the 70's.. The owners are wonderful people and they want to help you.. Some times the store can be very busy..But worth the time you have to wait. I am sorry but you can never close or retire.. LOL

During the checkout process I was told that the shoes were not $5, but they're $75 and the manager was not going to honor the price on the box. Corporate did nothing to make things right nor did the regional manager. Why put prices on items if the company isn't going to honor them? Instead they make the consumer play a guessing game of how much they're going to pay.

This is a review for Hank's online shop and website only…read more While on a lengthy search to replace a trusted but worn out favorite belt,I came across a recommendation for Hank's line of Amish belts. Handmade in America of extra thick vegetable dyed hides these duty belts was exactly what I was searching for. The online store was slick but sadly limited in it's offerings although featuring big,iconic name brands like Barbour,Carolina boots,Schott,Woolrich and Filson. I did order a sturdy work belt and it arrive a bit late but Hank's made good on it's promise to refund me my shipping. Hank's is an good source for work and outdoor apparel along the lines of LL Bean and Duluth Trading company but a bit higher end. I'll shop them again perhaps in another 15 years when this belt finally wears out.....

Found the Front St location, only to find a handwritten note in the window that the men's store is closed until September '17. Gee, thanks, THAT would have been valuable on the website. Seeing this store will have to wait until I'm again in Binghamton and once I have this sour taste out of my mouth.
