Above and Beyond - Truly Exceptional Service…read more A couple of days ago, my truck's clutch gave out while I was driving from Seattle to Boise for an urgent family matter. I was stranded on the highway and really in a pickle -- but calling Ruggles Auto Repair turned everything around. From the very first call, they treated me like family. They offered to drive me after hours to a nearby town just so I could rent a car and make it to where I needed to be. The next day, they worked tirelessly--well past closing time--to replace the clutch and get me safely back on the road. They even brought me lunch while I was waiting in the lobby. Who does that anymore? Their kindness, honesty, and dedication are something you just don't see often these days. If you ever need car repairs and want to be treated with genuine care and respect, Ruggles Auto Repair is the place to go. They turned a stressful breakdown into a reminder that there are still great people and great businesses out there.

So thankful for everyone at Ruggles Auto Repair! Today they arranged a tow from my home and…read morecompleted the repair while I was at work--something that would've been a major headache anywhere else. One of the biggest frustrations I've had with car maintenance is finding service that works around a full-time schedule. Ruggles consistently finds ways to make things easier, and that flexibility is a game-changer. Now, I know this might sound like a biased review--my mom, Deana, is the warm, welcoming face you'll see at the front desk. But hear me out: I've watched time and time again as everyday customers receive the same care and attention I do. Whether it's Victor going the extra mile or the team doing what they can to accommodate real-life schedules, they treat people with genuine care. That's not family favoritism--it's just who they are. If you happen to wait for your service, you'll find comfy chairs (dangerously good for an accidental nap) and a welcoming, down-to-earth shop atmosphere. My whole family and I happily recommend Ruggles Auto Repair. Thanks again, you guys. You really make a stressful process feel easy.

I rarely write reviews but I feel compelled to write one for the Toppenish Les Scwhab crew. I read…read moreover some of the previous reviews and am sorry to hear about negative experiences. Our experience was nothing but positive (at least regarding the Les Schwab part of the story). My daughter was driving her Tesla Model 3 (the smallest, cheapest Tesla model), heading from Toppenish toward Goldendale on Washington state highway 97. She hit some road debris, blew out her front right tire, and had to get towed back to town. They left the car in the Les Schwab parking lot (it was a Sunday evening and all the repair shops were closed). She had to work the next day (in the Portland area), so I drove over and gave her my car, and I stayed in Toppenish to deal with her car. The next morning, we (the Les Schwab crew and I) discovered that both the wheel rim and the tire were damaged. It turns out that Tesla wheels and tires are unusual in that they are spec'd to bear heavy loads (Teslas weigh a lot because of their batteries). It also turns out that there weren't replacement wheels or tires or even an authorized Tesla service/repair facility anywhere on the entire eastside of the state, aside from Spokane (200 miles away). So we were in a pickle. JD, our Les Schwab service person, did find a wheel that was similar enough that it would have fit on the car and probably could have gotten me back to Portland. The estimate was in the $450+ range for wheel and tire. I called my daughter and we talked it over. She decided to buy a wheel and tire from a Portland-area Tesla dealership and then drive it over to Toppenish. JD (and his manager) both said it wouldn't be a problem putting them on the car and getting us on our way. The car sat in their shop for another several hours until my daughter got there. They put the new wheel and tire on the car, charged us about $50 for the service, and we were on our way. They lost out on a $450 sale but didn't hesitate to provide the help. They were great (the Tesla service availability? Not so much). It's great to see that the old-fashioned ethic of lending a helping hand is still a priority for some businesses and people.

Took care of our issue at low cost and gave us a thorough recommendation on what to repair. He also took the time to call around local establishments to see if they would be able to fix the problem (possibly at a lower cost) and recommended those places. Honest, meticulous, and works with integrity. Highly recommend.

My car died while I was driving it and had it towed here…read more After 4 hours of diagnostics and $600 later, Darrell told me he found metal in my oil and it'd need a new engine (basically it was done for as it wouldn't have been worth an engine replacement). Knowing to never trust a mechanic I do not know, I got a second opinion. Darrell hadn't even drained the oil that he said he found metal in and no metal was found in it when it was drained. I've truly never met a shoddier mechanic. Sounds like he can do some minor air conditioner repairs from the reviews I've seen, but figured I'd give a real review of his diagnostics. By the way, all my vehicle needed was some new spark plugs and ignition coils, under $200 repair. It's running smoothly and definitely has years before it'll need trashed. Don't go to this guy unless you want to waste money and potentially be out a whole car. If you want a good recommendation, go to Auto Care Experts in Yakima.
