Great music venue - POOR staff Let me set the scene: Saturday night, 9:15pm. No line to speak of and bar is about 60% full. We arrived with a group of 20+ (already gave them a heads up) It all starts at the front door. Big guy out front was a complete A** Definitely NOT a "Hey ya'll Welcome to 37 Main, are you ready for a good night?" More like, "BACK UP! MOVE OVER! What do you want...?" kind of attitude. Just straight up rude and dismissive of our entire party. Next are the Bartenders. *My first time visiting this place, but not my first time at a bar. So, when I asked if they had a certain beer - girl points to the bottles at the bar, turns her back and walks away. Seriously, not even eye contact or verbal response. Again, just plain rude. Many of the other staff members seemed more interested in socializing with each other and certain regular clientele, didn't smile, help out with a spill, or even seem to care that we were all paying customers there to have a good time. I see some other positive reviews on here...so maybe we caught them on an off night. Fair enough. But, hard to believe based on our experience - I hope the staff just remembers to smile, be honest, and make people feel welcome, that's more fun for everyone (and the tips are better that way ;) read more

They have a lot of fun acts play here. Mostly cover and tribute bands, but some originals, too. The food is good, but the cocktails suck. Drinks have very little alcohol and the taste is mediocre. Why would I want to frequent a bar that serves shitty drinks? Really, there's no excuse and I blame the owner/manager for their decision. First off you have to pay a $10-20 cover charge to see a glorified karaoke band just to get in the door. Then you're paying extra on everything else. Beer, liquor, shooters, food, everything. Get ready to spend at least $100 with two people to get a small buzz and one appetizer. It's a small brick venue so the music is very loud, you literally can't have a conversation with somebody sitting next to you when in main room. A few tables and a bar outside main room which is a little better. All in all, extremely over priced for a mediocre place. My husband and I LOVE 37 Main! We go often, sometimes several times a week. We don't usually go OGC (outside Gwinnett County) so this is perfect for us. It has a cool mix of people and the bartenders and staff are super nice. We have our favorite servers and we're never disappointed. David and Joe are always friendly and go out of their way to make sure everything is good. I gladly pay a little more for a drink there because EVERY one we get is made perfect. And the beer is damn cold! There is something for everyone that is for sure. They brought in Dueling Pianos on Thursday night's that is fun. Low key and always a good time. And they do an Original music night on Wednesday night, no cover and it's a fun way to spend Hump Day....Some of Atlanta's best up and coming bands play there. read more

This place is terrible. This is not because of the live acts. They get some good bands to play there. Nor is this for the drinks. I don't remember having a problem with them. The staff and ownership of this place are terrible and low class. I was at this place when a man decided to sucker punch me because earlier in the night I had told him to stop bothering my wife. Instead of helping me the staff tried to hide the perpetrator and treated me very rudely. I was bleeding and they refused to clean it up and made my wife clean up some of the blood off of the bathroom floor. I later called the manager to discuss this issue and she was not rude at first. She acted as if she would like to help but there was not substance to it and no assistance was given. Furthermore she threatened me with legal action. I would rather drink muddy water out of a pond then go to this place again. read more

Wow, where do I begin with this negative review. This story begins at my work in a cheese shop. A gentleman walks buy with a 37 Main shirt on. My coworker and I ask him about the band tonight and he tells us that a Journey cover band his playing. Next, he tells us that we should come by and that if we mention his name, David, at the door that we won't have to pay cover. Sounds great! I'm sold! Let's do it! After finishing my shift at the cheese shop I go home and change. My girlfriend gets home and we take off towards 37 Main. Upon arrival to the front door we are greeted by two doormen. They tell us that they need id's and $10 for the two of us to enter. After telling them that David had told us to mention his name and we wouldn't have to pay cover they proceed to give me and my girlfriend a VERY hard time and would not let us skip the cover. The amount of BS and heckling that we had to endure was insane and totally pissed me off. David, if your reading this, know that I will never return to 37 Main again and will tell all my friends about this terrible experience. Whoever that short, stalky doorman was tonight (9/8/12), he completely treated me and my girl with the utmost disrespect. We were ready to spend plenty of money in your establishment but this guy made it his mission to be a total prick. My whole perspective about 37 Main went from, cool the manager is awesome and I can't wait to hang out here to, the hell with this place, wish I had never run into that guy. I used to think this was the place to go, but not any more. Now i think they just want to take your money and do not care about customer satisfaction at all. We went there to see a band play and paid for a table, we were running late and I started to call them 20 mins in advance and they would not pick up. When they finally did, which was only 3 mins after our reservation, they had already given our paid table away. They told us they had no where to seat us and not to come. They said they would refund our money but I would have to call back. I have been calling them now for a week but to no avail. I have been leaving message after message. They do not pick up and they do not return any phone calls. I suggest you not do business with this company. I will never be back and I will be telling everyone I know not to business with them either. read more

Had an awesome time last night watching the Journey cover band! They were great! We got there about two hours before the show started and got a great table. Ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and they were okay but a little over-cooked. We asked for a more extensive drink menu (rather than just the regular beer and wine menu) and the waitress told us they had a full bar. So, I asked for a pina colada and was told they didn't make frozen drink...so, I ordered a mangorita instead. It was very light on the mango flavor but still good. Later, I ordered the Pink Floyd drink, which is like a spiked lemonade and it was better than the mangorita. I also had a blueberry lemonade drink that was good too but I can't remember the name of it. Bathrooms were clean but could be better. Access to them was easy at least. I got the doughnut burger for my entree and it was mouthwatering-good! We had a great time overall and we will be back! read more

If you enjoy loud music from tribute bands, this would be a place you may enjoy. Most of the bands are very good. I usually go with my boyfriend and a few others. A few times we brought friends that came from out of town and have always had a good time. The food is ok but the service lacks. We always have to look over our bill as there is always a discrepancy. Majority of the time we're charged for drinks we never ordered. It's often a pain and takes about 3 times before they get it right. When the waitress argues, she doesn't get a good tip. read more

The management and security at 37 Main is terrible. My friends were thrown out over going into a ladies room stall together. One of my friends lost her phone and management insisted that they didn't have it. Despite the fact we had other customers tell us they turned in the phone to the bar && heard a bartender say they had received the phone. Management Called the cops on us and two members of our party got arrested for disorderly conduct because they were trying to get the phone. After my friend got out of booking they handed her the phone that was missing.. but they didn't take it out of her pockets when they searched her. She didn't have it as she got arrested. The only thing that makes sense is that the owner and management had it and gave it to the officers because once again it wasn't on her person when she got searched and patted down. read more

Great - adult night, girls night out, foodie find. Not - kids, quiet dinning. Who'd think it, this bar has some exquisite bar food. This isn't the bar food you default to when you are far to inebriated to know how bad it is. No, this is eat while your sober kind of food - so you can enjoy it. The wings are large chunks of white meat, lightly battered and fried. Although I had debated with myself on whether they are fried or baked. They just don't have that fried oily finger after effect. The drinks are creative and they are generous with their liquor portions. It's a drink you don't feel bad paying for. The staff is friendly and absolutely not bad on the eyes (men/women). The Manager is welcoming, not your typical make em' wait outside to create an illusion mentality. I heard a rumor that on any given night you will find an owner at the front door or roaming inside. I think that says a lot about how important customers are to them. Finally the music - it's very diverse. They offer something for everyone, live music, two or three DJs. Holy redneck batman! Where do I begin???? We randomly learned online that "the world's greatest " U2 tribute band would be playing there, and being huge U2 fans our interest was piqued. After doing some research and watching some youtube vids on this band we were blown away and decided to make the pilgrimage to Buford of all places to see this band. Sure enough, this band (LAvation) absolutely killed it. They sounded amazing, 'Bono' had every move down, the 'Edge' was awesome. The setlist kicked ass, all the hits old and new. We truly enjoyed the show. Now the REDtape we had to endure to enjoy said band. (Pun intended). Rednecks, rednecks, rednecks. Tall, short, old, young, male, female, affliction shirts, confederate flag shirts, Eminem wannbe's, flat brimmed ball caps, mullets, mustaches, hooting, hollering, fighting, booing 'Bono' when he simply asked for a 'Like' on their facebook page. Puffy hair, spangled jeans, trashy makeup, super high heels (ok, those were kinda nice). I"m sure we stuck out like sore thumbs. We hightailed it out of there right after the encore and headed back down toward civilization. Did the reviewer before me really just refer to this place as "classy and professional"?????????? I will say this though, the bar itself is very nice. Very clean, lots of flatscreens, nice beer selection, cute bartenders w/ nice cleavage- You know what?? What the hell am I saying?????? I was taken here as a date for St. Patty's Day 2010 & after consuming numerous Irish car bombs & other St. Patty's Day festive drinks, I found myself outside chatting with the locals who then in-turn wanted to buy me even more festive drinks at the bar. This place was hoppin! Great atmosphere, great bands, great drinks & a great bar staff. Oh.... I almost forgot to mention that THE Ron White decided to spend his St. Patty's day here as well. A great rock bar in Buford, GA? Yes, this place is awesome! I have seen great local cover bands like IronMullet, live rock band karaoke, and national bands LAGuns, FasterPussycat, LynchMob and Saliva play at this club. The drinks are great, good selection of draught beer including Sweetwater and Terrapin, very good food for a bar, and a very friendly staff. I am a big fan of the dueling pianos on Thursdays and Sundays. Service is good for the shows. I've been there many times and only been disappointed once with very delayed food, not so hot service, and never got a table for the show. Hit or miss with this place. The food is pretty good for a bar atmosphere. The service can be awesome or really slow. Two areas - upstairs, a rock area with a mainstage. They get some pretty great bands here - like Drivin n Cryin and Take3. It can get really noisy and crowded, though. Downstairs is another bar. It's set up more like a night club, with hip hop and a typically much younger crowd. Amazingly, the 2 loud atmospheres never hear each other. read more

Have seen a show here three or four times and eaten once. Really cool atmosphere with lots of rock memorabilia on the wall. Bumpin' sounds system and stage setup. One large bar with several smaller bars allow for easy drink access even when crowded. There are a handful of small bathrooms conveniently located around the place but girls will find it hard to avoid lines. Food is above average bar food that's a little pricey. Heard 37 Main was under new management and that it was becoming increasingly popular so decided to check it out! I went on a Friday evening around 8:00 and stayed until about midnight. Had a blast! The place was packed most of the night. The new menu is not Tapas anymore and there is a good variety. We ordered an Appetizer Trio Combo and a couple of different kind of Wings. Both were very good. Bands play on Fri/Sat night. Good music, dancing if you wish... a lot of fun. Will definitely go back. read more

The one time I tried to go here it was crazy pact. The lines were literally around the building. While waiting just to see what the hype is all about I overheard some people in line talking about the bartenders slipping roofies in women's drinks so men could get lucky. I immediately left. This was our fifth time visiting this place. 37 main is a great place to go watch a live-band. There is a bar area and a dining area as well as an underground dance floor. We saw US (80's cover band) play and they were awesome! The food is good (much better than bar food as people seem to think). They have a good selection of mixed drinks and bottled beer (but could do a little better of draft beer selection). The service is always good. If you dine here, be sure to ask to sit in Taylor's section. She has a fun personality and very dedicated to taking care of her customers! We will definitely be back. read more

We went to see a Bon Jovi cover band and it was an excellent experience. Get there early and you might find parking on the street. However, there is also plenty of parking at an adjacent lot. The area is clean and has been nicely developed over the last 5-7 years and it felt quite safe. The safety also extended to the security at the entrance and inside. The bouncers check ID's and they are constantly walking around the venue the whole time which adds to the sense of security. Service was excellent and the server was a young lady named Taylor. Not only did she have a very sweet personality but she was constantly coming by our table and checking up on us. The music was great and the crowd was fun and respectful. The food and drink prices were reasonable. Although I have seen some complaints about drink prices, remember that you're going to a bar, not the local Package store. They are there to make money and pay their employees. We had a wonderful time there and would definitely visit again. Only negative was the number of men with plucked eyebrows, boutique jeans and lip gloss and the women with implants. I guess this goes with the area that I chose to live in :-) read more

We have not had a bad experience at 37 Main yet! This is casual food that is very tasty! A separate room that has a stage for live bands and plenty of room to dance! Be sure to reserve a table in advance for live music. No smoking atmosphere is a great advantage over other locations. read more

Tried to go here tonight. Had 8 people (4 couples) in a limo for the night and tried to make this our primary stop for food and drinks. The bouncers tried to charge us $10 each/ $80 just to get in the door. Supposedly because they had a "female rock band"..........if you have a "female rock band" , you should be paying ME to come in. Anyway, we found a bar a few doors down and had some great food and drinks. Adams I think it was called. Spent a few hundred dollars, but 37 main congratulations because your bouncers saved you from us coming in on a lame-ass cover charge and spending our money there all night. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night and there were terrible cover bands playing covers of other terrible bands. The bouncer seemed to giggle at my boyfriend and I as we came in, because we are older hippies, I assume. They did not have coffee, which was a shame. The lights were obnoxious, the crowd was really not for me, kind of a rude group of 30 somethings who think they're the bees knees. Ended up going down the street and having a better time. read more
