The equipment seems old and the bars are hidden so I can't see my child when she is working on them. Coaches are nice.

I signed my 2 daughters up for swim lessons here. I took my 8 & 10 year old to their first lesson…read moreand very quickly realized these lessons were for beginners/younger kids. I called the next morning to see if they'd be willing to work with me on a refund, or even use the money I paid ($162) towards my nieces gymnastics account. Linda was beyond rude, talked to me like I was stupid, and when I said my daughters knew swimming beyond what they were teaching them, she replied "if your daughters know how to swim, why did you sign them up for swim lessons?" She was not willing to work with me AT ALL so I'm out the $162 completely. I will never recommend this place to anyone, ever again. Amy (Altis) Schmitt

However, we Missed the first few days due to a holiday and construction/getting lost. That was our fault. But, When when we arrived for lessons, they placed one of the kids in a different swim group with younger kids After they were in the water for no more than 2 minutes. When I questioned if he Could move with the other boys as we had scheduled, or if any accommodation could be made, the director told me that my son was placed with the other group bc he was determined the "weakest swimmer" among 5 other kids in group with his friends he was in. I knew that was a lie. They told me based their program off how many kids and Divvy it up between the 3 instructors. But that is not what I saw to be true of skill level or ability among the kids. She said they teach the same things and all kids learn the same in each group. she's done this 45 years. And the full "this is how we do it" speech. But when you pull a kid from the rest of the group within a minute of them being in the water, and you tell the Mom/caregiver at the end of lessons that the child was "weakest of the kids, and he needed work and was not listening" (which was not true) without highlighting any of his positive growth, you need to work on your skills with customers a And customer service is in definite growth opportunity. I also felt like the instructors could have used better discipline and communication techniques with the kids. They were often rigid and pushy. They do not talk with the parent/caregiver after lessons or give any type of update on the students' progress or areas to work on. Overall, their target market is daycare kids that they carpool from daycare center(s). If you need group swim lessons for your kid or your small group of daycare kids, I don't personally recommend this group for swim lessons.

We had my child's birthday party here. The kids loved the play area!…read more My first big complaint is the cleanliness. The floors were gross in the party room and I included a picture of one of the chairs. This was it at the start of our party. There weren't trash cans in the party room, which was frustrating. We spilled some water and when I used a paper towel to clean it up it was brown. The whole place needs a deep clean! Also, the party time is short. One hour is not enough time. If they need to clean the party rooms before the next party they should allow the kids to go back and play for another 30 min to make it a 2 hour party. This place has potential!

Inspired by Simone Biles and the 2024 Olympics, my kid has jumped in (cartwheeled in?) with both feet. Straight up, the lobby and bathroom areas need to be cleaner and I'll stand by that. But the rest of it is pretty nice overall. The teacher seems great and has control of the group. The times I've watched my semi-trepidacious daughter here, I've noticed they move at a pace that doesn't allow for a lot of fear which is important. They sort of just get after it and settle in from there, always a good approach. I can't say we'll go here for a long time based on the distance, but we may because my daughter loves it and we're continuing with it despite the distance for us to travel each week.

I want to take a moment to share something important to me…read more I have three kids that have all played competitive sports since they were old enough. Out of all the teams we have been on the amount of LOVE AND SUPPORT we have gotten from NJE (even after moving on to dance) is beyond amazing. I've never in my life had a team that truly makes you feel like it's more than just a team...it's FAMILY!! Yes it's still a business and they need to make money but it has never felt that way. How many coaches do you know who will take time to surprise EVERY athlete on their team whom made it is Disney by showing up at THEIR SCHOOL to give them a congratulations gift? That's right. They drove all around the KC area to surprise their girls for winning a bid to "The Summit" (the Super Bowl of cheer if you will). Now this is my youngest second year of not cheering. She had switched over to dance a year and a half ago. How many of you could say your ex coaches and teammates/parents would pay to come watch your child perform at their new dance studio? ‍Well I can tell you out of all the coaches my kids have had NJE are the only one that has does this. This is what touches me deep in my heart and they will FOREVER be a part of my family! This is what these kids need to see. Love/caring/kindness and to me THIS is winning! (Yes they do actually win competitions also. Lol but this is more important to me than anything) They are the perfect balance of being tough on your child when needed and expect them to give 100% and when they do great they know how to show the athletes how proud they are of them. If we ever go back to cheer (which she is talking about it ) we would only go back there. Oh and speaking of they are the only gym I know that does not have the drama and when a girl leaves they almost always come back. In case you were wondering my daughter had cheered their for four years!

Shelby Swartz, the owner of The Cheer Pitt did not get that memo. She will undoubtedly reply to this review by stating "I'm sorry we don't see that you have ever had an account with us", as she has done the other negative reviews. This reaction only shows her lack of professionalism and willingness to take accountability for the negative events that take place in the environment that she fosters. At her business, when committing to a team you have to sign a legally binding contract. However, I assure you, this contract is one sided and only adheres the guardian to the financial obligation, and not the owner to have an obligation to your child's best interest. During our time there we have witnessed parents making fun of parents, parents making fun of the owner, bullying, kids making fun of kids, parents making fun of kids, at least one coach high on cocaine while coaching (my daughter sprained her elbow during a class with him where he removed her spot without warning her), athletes getting hurt, the owner making fun of parents, the owner making fun of athletes, the owner speaking poorly of other gyms, binge drinking in front of athletes during "team bonding events", parents yelling at parents of other gyms, and name calling. Of all the practices I watched, there wasn't one that ended without a girl crying on my daughter's team. The owner places profit and her ego above the well being of the athletes and if anyone has the willingness to speak on the blatant ill behaviors witnessed, their athlete will be kicked out. Shelby constantly threatens parents and athletes to keep them quiet. She praises herself as being a leader and a mentor, yet has little to no concern for lower level athletes, or providing an accessible path for them to advance. She only focuses on how everyone can serve her and not how she can serve the athletes. The Cheer Pitt operates closer to a cult than a facility that fosters character in children. I recommend saving your money, or better yet choosing another of the 3 cheer gyms very close by that have a greater and more successful selection of teams and classes. I applaud the other people that were brave enough to come forward and speak on their negative experiences. I know from our experience at The Cheer Pitt that anyone with a true backbone and concern for the well being of the children, and not just the "leader", will be ridiculed and ostracized.
